A Pink Pixie Princess - Complete!

Yes! I'll be the calm one at the expo, not pushing or throwing punches. ;)

I LOVE all of your ears! Total ear envy over here...
No punching for you? Don't you want the full Princess weekend experience?! :rotfl2:
PACKING!!! I can't believe how close it is getting for you. I'm so jealous you are going to be there again. I'll be curious to hear about Rivers of Light once it's been going for awhile, but I think you are wise not to change plans for it. It's likely to be mobbed at first anyway and until I hear some reviews, I sure wouldn't disrupt my plans for it. I'm sad about Wishes. We didn't actually manage to see it on this last trip and now we won't get to see it one last time. I'm hoping the new show is amazing (and I suspect it will be), but wish I had one more shot at Wishes.
Yeah, I'm so annoyed they're doing it every other day. I tried to make a FP+ for our AK night and was so confused when it wasn't an option! Then I realized it's just not happening that day. :rolleyes2
The weather is crazy here. Warm one day and freezing the next. But honestly, we've had such a mild winter so far, that I can't complain much. Of course, I do anyway. :D
That's a good point, it really could be so much worse. Apparently the air is still just dry enough to mess me up!
I'm excited for PHM to get here because that means we are just one more race closer to Tink (selfish roxy right here.)
I do that for every race weekend! I'm super excited to go back to Disneyland...cannot wait.
Where do you get most of your ears? I got my first pair recently and they are hidden away to prevent kiddo from man-handling them. I got a mint-green pair with a silvery/white bow from be.ear.guest thinking they'd probably work well with my current park wardrobe. Found them on IG because the HAP linked to them. They seem really similar to yours in style. But there seems to be a bajillion brands on etsy. I didn't realize how insane the "buy them before they are gone" really is with those things!
Mine are from BibbidiBobbidiBrooke. I've seen the Be Ear Guest ears and they are really cute! I had to stop following all ear markers on social media because I was buying WAY too many. Really, the only handmade Disney person I follow on social media anymore is Happily Ever Tees. It has helped me to buy a lot less!

I do like my BBB ears but sometimes they hurt my head. And she hot glues ribbons onto the inside and sometimes if it's hot the glue sticks to my hair! :( And yeah, the sell-outs are INSANE. Makes me think I am in the wrong field job-wise...like, I could be making ears for a living. :confused3
And fyi...I want to smack all the people who said during my teens to just wait until you are an adult...like skin becomes this magical thing after a certain age. Not true! And now I get to have dry skin and oily skin at the same time???WHYYYYYY????? Doesn't the universe know I'd rather spend my money at Sephora on fun makeup and not stupid $$$ skincare?
OMG. THE WORST.

I'm putting my skin-related rant in a spoiler tag because it got kind of long! :upsidedow
Your skin type sounds a lot like mine - it's oily and I still break out and yet it gets dry and burns in the winter. Why?? I had acne when I was younger and I have been waiting and waiting for it to be gone and nope, it's still there. :( I got really upset last week because I bought this pricey serum that was supposed to be, like, a miracle product and it made my skin so much worse! Horrible breakout and burning and peeling in places. And I can't return this crap because I used it for a few days... :( So I got fed up and decided to try a super-basic regimen of Noxema (what my grandmother used when she was alive...so that has been nice because the smell brings back memories and it's sort of comforting in a way :lovestruc) and Cerave face lotion...sunscreen during the day (I did splurge on the sunscreen - La-Roche Posay - but I think it's worth it to have the good mineral stuff). But all of that stuff combined was WAY cheaper than this serum I bought. My skin feels a lot better but I'm still recovering from that awful serum so it still doesn't LOOK better just yet. :( And I decided that until I feel like I am fully recovered from the serum that I shouldn't wear make-up on my skin so I am pretty self-conscious about it. Sorry for writing a novel but I was so mad about this last week...I would say my skin is my biggest insecurity so it has really been bothering me! I feel like you and I have discussed this before... :scratchin

I think I'm done buying the pricey skincare stuff at Sephora...none of it seems to work for me anyway. More money for fun stuff!
PS in regards to PHM..... YOU GOT THIS!!!! (that is not aimed at just the running, I also mean the shopping, vacationing, eating, cute outfit wearing, Pluto-visiting, and maybe even ROL viewing....YOU GOT THIS!!!)
Thanks! I'm nervous about it...hope the hip holds up!
That Beauty and Lord Voldemort thing is kinda creepy, but really cool at the same time. How do people come up with these ideas??
I don't know! And I am really impressed by the editing skills of whoever put that together...it's pretty seamless! :scratchin
I'm kinda over Rivers of Light. I'm sure I'll make an attempt to see it next time I'm in Florida, but between the opening drama and the scheduling situation ... I'm not really interested in it anymore.
Wishes, on the other hand ... I wish I was getting a chance to see it before it leaves. I think it's wonderful that they're trying to give us so much new stuff, but I'm definitely going to miss Wishes.
Honestly...I kind of agree with you about Rivers of Light. :confused3 I remember hoping it would be ready for Wine & Dine, then again for Marathon Weekend...and not it'll be here but I already had other stuff planned, so...? If it was showing every night that would be one thing. Ugh!

I'm going to miss Wishes too. Even though I'm happy or the new stuff. :(
I am with you on the weather/skin situation. My skin and the cold do not get along, and the wind only makes it worse. It is not fun.
SO ANNOYING. I don't know about you but when the wind gets bad I totally get wind burn. Hate it!! :sad2:
Single Digits!! OMG! In case I don't get back here before you leave ... have a wonderful trip!
Thank yoooouuu!! :yay:

Yeah, I'm so annoyed they're doing it every other day. I tried to make a FP+ for our AK night and was so confused when it wasn't an option! Then I realized it's just not happening that day. :rolleyes2

I did just see some photos of a preview they did of it over at easywdw.com and WOW, it looks sort of amazing. So, don't go look. ;)

I'm thinking when we go back in January might need to try and get one of the dining packages for it. I went from being totally meh about the whole thing to, "man, I wanna see that!"

@Ariel484 You can return it if it is used! You have 6 months I believe to return and if you have your receipt or printout from online they won't flag you or anythign as a "returner"
I've only had to do it twice in my life. Once because I exchanged for a better shade of foundation and that brand just didn't have anything pale enough for me :( And the other time was because I broke out like you BAD from a Lancome product that I realized had a sunscreen in it that gives me problems. My fault for not checking but they didn't bat an eye. If you are just returning something, saying "it didn't work for me" is enough for them to say "okay" and give you your money back. I feel totally guilty doing that, so I never return like smaller things. But if it was pricey skin care...go exchange or return. I'll be with you in spirit!

And, yes, I think we have same issues. My skin has two modes...being very nice to me and being very very very mean to me. And sometimes by the time clears up from the mean moments I'll get like a good week before my "time of month" comes around to hormonally be mean to me again. I will say that I am like you and give it a lot of "no makeup" breathers. I also have to introduce things one at a time so I know what the culprit is when I react to anything. I think the term I'd use is "sensitive" for my skin. Very sensitive!
When I was pregnant it was the best my skin ever looked. I attributed it to the vitamins I took and the lack of my monthly fun-lady-fest.

Sooooo exciting! I can't believe it's next week!!!
Packing....planning....so much fun! I'm officially going solo (boo...so wish DH could come but with family out of state, he's staying home with the kiddos! I guess it wouldn't be an issue if BFF was going! Oh well, I digress!)
Oh girl.....the skin! The expensive crap we buy just hoping we'll find something to break the cycle! I hear you! I too have gone back to good ol' oil olay and Cerave! Ugh adult cystic acne... WHHHYYYYYY, end rant!

Can I just add ... I really hate when people try to force me to use skin care products because "they're so perfect for my skin." Things that work for other people don't always work for me. And of course, what people suggest is always the most expensive thing out there ... because I definitely want to spend all of my money on some skin care product that only has like a 20% chance of actually helping me.
Other than that whole "protecting your insides" thing, skin is literally the worst.

I actually bought this at the gift shop at work (which sounds nuts, but I work at a hospital and they have some high-end skincare stuff in one of the stores) - not Sephora. :sad2: I got so mad that I threw it out last week. Expensive lesson learned!

I can't figure out how big of a role hormones plays for me. I definitely notice my skin getting worse when the weather changes (the up & down weather we have had has been good in some ways, not-so-good in others). The make-up breather is making me self-conscious but it's probably a good thing, I haven't had one in awhile.

Aw, that stinks that he can't make it! :( I have to say though, I did like being at WDW for a solo race trip in January. I got a little lonely at times but there were definitely some good things about it!

OMG right?! And of course the face wash I am using now was like $5 and the face lotion was like $10 or whatever...:sad2: I just need to stick with the simpler routine long-term, I think it's better for my skin and obviously cheaper!

Which Oil of Olay do you use? That was the one other product I was considering getting for my new, simpler routine (I guess I was thinking something to use at night for anti-wrinkle action). :scratchin Oh and my insurance recently decided that they won't cover adult acne prescriptions so that's why I haven't seen a dermatologist for this. :sad2: So it's all drugstore products from now on!
@Ariel484 and @roxymama I can unfortunately totally relate and it really sucks. I had a friend one time "suggest" just washing my face every night like she does... ugh, you think I don't wash my face? Boo.
OMG. RUDE! I remember being so afraid that people would think I was "dirty" or something when I was younger and my acne was really bad and my mom was like "no one thinks that!" :sad2: Sheesh.

See - I am the dummy that falls for that! I thought this serum would be great for me because it got such amazing reviews, but NOPE. Looking back, I should have tried to see if the store would have given me a sample or something. Lesson learned!! :(

Skin really is the worst. I just want mine to be perfect and glowing and I'm not sure why that is so hard to achieve. :sad2:

When in doubt I switch to just dove soap. it's cheap and my skin is ok with it. Shampoo and conditioner too. You'd laugh at my giant Costco dove stash. It's not as fun as all the fancy stuff and it's not perfect in winter when I need my moisturizers too. But it helps when my skin is in "newp" mode.

Rivers of Light will finally be happening during our trip, but I don't think it's going to work out with our plans...WHY is this show only every other night?? :headache: Okay, I know why - $$$$$$. But it's not running on our Animal Kingdom night and until I hear reviews I'm not sure I want to switch our whole schedule around to see it. :confused3
Not to throw a wrench into your plans or anything but they just had previews for it Friday-Sunday. Saturday they had a small issue which stopped the show. I'd imagine they are only doing every other night because its not 100% reliable yet. Reviews so far are positive. If you go and see it don't expect major wow like you get with Pyro in fireworks shows. Expect elegant, and fitting for AK.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. At this point I am VERY hesitant to buy anymore skincare products in the forseeable future!

Thanks! I'll keep checking the schedule...if they add it to our AK day I'll definitely grab a FP+. ::yes::

I use the Olay total effects 7 in one refreshing citrus cleanser and olay complete all day moisturizer with sunscreen-sensitive (with vitamin e and aloe)
Wow that was a mouth full! Lol
Insurance has gotten so bad! I have a tier one generic antibiotic gel and can't believe the cost! It does seem to reduce the outbreak if I spot treat as soon as I notice it.
I'm looking forward to a mini vacay. I don't mind being alone but I feel like with races in the morning I'll have sooooo much time alone!

I have to agree with @ZellyB when I saw the photo posts about ROL, I went from having no previous interest, to now definitely considering a TiFFins dining package. LOL!

Wow! That's a lot of ears! I'm jealous! :earsboy:
I have shopping issues... :upsidedow

Thank you!! I'll check that out when I need new stuff!

Ugh, I know! It's really annoying. I used to use Differin Gel (prescription) and just saw that they are starting to carry that in drug stores! It's not the same strength as what I was prescribed (0.1% and I think previously I had 0.3%) but it's $15 so I may just start getting that...I've been holding on to the last tube that I was prescribed and I think it's expired. :scratchin

*puts fingers in ears and closes eyes* LA LA LA LA CAN'T HEAR YOU! :rotfl2:
Beauty and Lord Voldy - that is classic!
So funny and weird!

Catching up on your great thread--so excited for your upcoming Princess weekend!

I know you may have mentioned this, but with all of the new InB items, what are you going to be wearing?!?

I don't think I had mentioned it yet! Since I loved my butterfly outfit so much, I decided to go with a butterfly theme for Princess weekend. :butterfly:butterfly:butterfly

I have them packed (they are all short-sleeved or sleeveless + skirt combinations) but marathon weekend definitely taught my that the weather can change quickly, so I need to come up with some back-up options in case the weather turns. Which...fingers crossed that it doesn't because overall it look great right now!

Um what that was the craziest video ever! Lord Voldemort as the sensitive romantic lead?? :scared1: But I do agree it was done really well and looks seamless!

Oh man I know the pain of adult skin acting crazy. I finally got mine under control with the help of a dermatologist, but mine was hormonal (that apparently happens to lots of women in their 30s!) I hope yours calms down. I know winter is so hard on skin in general!

Princess weekend is so close! I'm so excited for you! I bet you are going to have such a great time with friends and rock your races!
