A Pink Pixie Princess - Complete!

I'm glad you got the OK to go ahead with Princess Weekelend. Even with 2 weeks off from running, if you keep up your activity level, you should still be able to finish all three races in decent shape.
Me too! I just hope I'm not totally miserable by the end of the half!
Having a credit card number stolen is one of my big fears. My dad has had it happen twice (I think ... about 5-6 years apart, different cards). At least your credit card company was good about it! I think Chase is usually really good about those things.
Yeah, it was not great! They have caught stuff for us before (someone somehow got our number and tried to use it to purchase art in Miami a few years ago...???) but this time I guess since it was Delta it didn't flag anything for them. So far it has been going okay but it was still a stressful day.
Yay for good corral placement! Corral A ... that's the runDisney dream!
Enjoy the puppy bowl! I'm probably skipping all bowl-related activities today, because I hate the Patriots, Lady Gaga's music bugs me (I don't know why, but her songs just get on my nerves ... whatever), and the commercials haven't been good in a few years. I watched a hockey game this afternoon ... that's my sporting for the day.
We did enjoy the Puppy Bowl AND Gaga - I thought she was awesome! Hope you enjoyed your hockey game. :)
Glad your hip is feeling better! Slow clap for Corral A!! My husband and I were Corral A for the Castaway Cay challenge and we had someone take our picture with our bibs visible becasue we figured this would be the only time we would ever be there.
Me too! So relieved!

I have been in Corral A for a couple of 5Ks before but never for anything longer than a 5K!
Glad your hip isn't anything major, it's so easy to overuse the hips. Yeah better to be undertrained going in to princess then hurting for sure. Credit Card fraud sucks, I dealt with it on 2 cards last summer/fall. Crazy someone used it for a flight.
Me too, so relieved to get the okay to do the races.

Yeah, I can't believe someone used it for a flight and that Delta just told Mr. A who it was! :confused3
I kept thinking during Lady Gaga's halftime show looked like a great cardio workout!
Yes! And she didn't look/sound out of breath at all (and I did think she was singing live for at least part of it). And I never understand how female performers dance in boots like that, I would break my ankles.
Good to hear that it's nothing serious with your hip and you can get back to running soon. Sucks about the credit card but hey at least it wasn't a debit card - that's when the real fun starts.
True! At least with the credit card it seems like we're a little better protected and it's not tied to our bank account!
I have this strange want to go listen to Shakira now......
 <-- hips don't lie!
Glad to hear your appt went well! CC fraud stinks! I've had it happen too! Ugh, jerks! Looks like we could "run" into each other at PHM.
I know, and I have a feeling nothing will come of the police report since I am sure the cops have bigger fish to fry, so to speak. :confused3
So glad both your hip and back are feeling better. Sorry to hear that about your credit card- it's nice that everything checked out ok and you were refunded, but it's such as hassle to go through. And finally... corral A for the 5K = awesome!!
Me too - gosh I am sick of reporting in on various injuries! I must be getting old.

Corral A DOES = awesome. Maybe I will actually get a character picture during the 5K!!
So glad the hip is nothing serious. I'm glad you realized quickly there was a problem with your card. Yikes!
Yeah, I usually check our cards once or twice per month but I'm going to start doing it weekly now!
Corral A for the 5K - WOOHOO!!! :cool1:
YAASSSSS :yay: :yay: :yay:

Important question here. :P

I know you're all INB now, but I just came across someone who mentioned Raw Threads, and I remember you used to wear them all the time.

Do you still wear it? Why the switch?

I was debating buying a shirt or two, and then someone said they don't wick sweat very well.

Just wondered!

(I do like my Groot-like INB shirt though!)

I do not wear Raw Threads anymore for running, and I may have been the one who said it doesn't wick sweat well. :confused3 It's super comfortable for casual wear but for me it is TERRIBLE for running. I do "run hot" and sweat a lot, so maybe that is why.

Having said that, a few years back they made sleepwear (not sure if they do anymore?) and I did buy like 5-6 camisole-type tops that I sleep in, and they are SUPER comfy.

Another reason why I don't buy it anymore is because after awhile I wasn't super impressed by their newer designs, and I already had WAY too much of it anyway...:confused3

Thanks for letting me know! You might have said it didn't wick well, but I also just read that on another site.

I'll probably get a shirt or two for my next Disney trip, but avoid them for running. Thanks!

Love raw threads, but completely agree about not wearing it for running or at any time you might sweat. Super comfy otherwise - especially love the hoodies!

Some people love them for running! I am not one of them. After awhile the shorts just feel heavy to me and unless it's a black shirt, you can see every bit of sweat. Not a good look on me!

Agreed!! I still have a hoodie from them. :)

Princess Half Marathon Weekend Training
Week 4 (2/6 - 2/12)

MO: lift/yoga
TU: 20 minutes biking/25 minutes elliptical
WE: lifting
TH: 20 minutes biking/25 minutes elliptical
FR: yoga
SA: 62 minutes biking/28 minutes elliptical
SU: rest

Week 2 of non-running training is in the books!

Lifting is not at all entertaining to talk about, but it is still going well and I am glad I picked it back up again! And I’m really enjoying yoga a lot - it’s gotten noticeably better since I have been sticking to my back PT exercises more regularly. There are still times where I don’t move quite right and will tweak my back a bit, but it’s not happening anywhere near as often as it was in the fall when I had fallen off of the PT wagon.

Elliptical-ing and biking are fine, but again, not interesting to talk about at all. I find both to be pretty boring compared to running. Not sure why but I just can’t zone out quite as well! But the hip is feeling good, so that’s what is important. One thing I realized on Tuesday is that the bikes and ellipticals at the gym at work seem to be calibrated differently compared to the ones I use in my town on the weekends...it is what it is. I’m not too worried about it - in my mind the #1 important thing is getting in regular cardio, which I am doing. :) Hopefully it's enough to get me through Princess weekend...I'm a little disappointed because I was so looking forward to a no-pressure weekend where I'd feel strong the whole time, but no running for the 2-3 weeks beforehand doesn't seem like the best way to achieve that. I'm definitely eager to get back to running...I've been feeling a little more irritable since the break started and I'm definitely not sleeping as well. Blech!

Now that Princess corrals and the event guide have come out, I feel like I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for more info/discussion/SOMETHING related to Princess weekend...maybe this is just me getting excited for it?! :scratchin I don’t actually think we’ll see anything else until the merch preview comes out.

Can’t believe it’s less than 2 weeks away! :yay:

I'm with you on the bike/elliptical ... for some reason it's just a lot harder to zone out. It's why I've always tended to stick to the treadmill, even when I had access to other machines. Oh well ... you'll be back to running soon(ish), so you just have to get through these next few weeks!

I hate the elliptical as well! I can never last more than 5 minutes on it as I hate it that much. The bike doesn't bother me mainly as the set up makes it easy to play on my cell phone when I get board.

In the long run, at least its better than not doing anything! Only a week and a half until you head to Princess!

Yeah, not sure what it is about them! I'm looking forward to getting back to running for sure.

I'm starting to hate it too! I used to like it a few years ago before I started running. Now - blech!
2 weeks!! Woo Hoo!
I know!! I can't wait! :yay:

I'll second everyone else in hating the elliptical. I must not do it right, because I feel like I flail around and look absolutely ridiculous! Great to have something to do while your hip is healing though!

I can't believe Princess is almost here! I hope the race weekend exceeds your expectations and you have a great time!

Yeah, I totally remember loving the elliptical and hating biking...my preferences seem to have switched! One thing I really about about the elliptical is that sometimes if makes my feet numb - this happened to me on Saturday and after that I may be switching 100% to biking!

Ahh I can't believe it either!! I hope you have a blast too! Maybe I'll see you at some point! :)

Packing has begun!

Okay in reality I started packing a couple of weeks ago (pulling race outfit stuff out of my running clothes rotation so I wouldn't have to do last-minute laundry), but yesterday I also took the important step of selecting ears to bring. ::yes::

I've also got some Beauty and the Beast-themed shirts set aside (from Happily Ever Tees, of course). Speaking of Beauty and the Beast, did anyone see this??

So trippy...it's super well-done!

Other thoughts...
- Rivers of Light will finally be happening during our trip, but I don't think it's going to work out with our plans...WHY is this show only every other night?? :headache: Okay, I know why - $$$$$$. But it's not running on our Animal Kingdom night and until I hear reviews I'm not sure I want to switch our whole schedule around to see it. :confused3
- I am definitely going to make sure that we see Wishes! though. I like Wishes! but I have been reading rumors that the show would be replaced for a couple of years now, so I can't say I was too surprised by the announcement. I'm mostly happy that WDW is getting some love and that I can see it one last time (not that I would, like, make a special trip for it if I wasn't already going...).
- Ticket prices increased - ARG. Just like Wishes! I wasn't surprised by this news, but I wish I had been a little smarter and bought my tickets for Tink weekend BEFORE the increase. Honestly, I think I'm a little paranoid that something (i.e. an injury) will happen and I won't be able to make the trip, which is what has been keeping me from buying the tickets. :confused3
- Totally random but I am OVER this weather - not because it's insanely cold (knock on wood) but because it is wreaking havoc on my sensitive skin. Kind of embarrassing to have crappy skin as a 32-year-old, but I digress...

Anyway...the countdown is in single digits!! AHHHHH

Yes! I'll be the calm one at the expo, not pushing or throwing punches. ;)

I LOVE all of your ears! Total ear envy over here...

PACKING!!! I can't believe how close it is getting for you. I'm so jealous you are going to be there again. I'll be curious to hear about Rivers of Light once it's been going for awhile, but I think you are wise not to change plans for it. It's likely to be mobbed at first anyway and until I hear some reviews, I sure wouldn't disrupt my plans for it. I'm sad about Wishes. We didn't actually manage to see it on this last trip and now we won't get to see it one last time. I'm hoping the new show is amazing (and I suspect it will be), but wish I had one more shot at Wishes.

The weather is crazy here. Warm one day and freezing the next. But honestly, we've had such a mild winter so far, that I can't complain much. Of course, I do anyway. :D

I'm excited for PHM to get here because that means we are just one more race closer to Tink (selfish roxy right here.)

Where do you get most of your ears? I got my first pair recently and they are hidden away to prevent kiddo from man-handling them. I got a mint-green pair with a silvery/white bow from be.ear.guest thinking they'd probably work well with my current park wardrobe. Found them on IG because the HAP linked to them. They seem really similar to yours in style. But there seems to be a bajillion brands on etsy. I didn't realize how insane the "buy them before they are gone" really is with those things!

And fyi...I want to smack all the people who said during my teens to just wait until you are an adult...like skin becomes this magical thing after a certain age. Not true! And now I get to have dry skin and oily skin at the same time???WHYYYYYY????? Doesn't the universe know I'd rather spend my money at Sephora on fun makeup and not stupid $$$ skincare?

PS in regards to PHM..... YOU GOT THIS!!!! (that is not aimed at just the running, I also mean the shopping, vacationing, eating, cute outfit wearing, Pluto-visiting, and maybe even ROL viewing....YOU GOT THIS!!!)

That Beauty and Lord Voldemort thing is kinda creepy, but really cool at the same time. How do people come up with these ideas??

I'm kinda over Rivers of Light. I'm sure I'll make an attempt to see it next time I'm in Florida, but between the opening drama and the scheduling situation ... I'm not really interested in it anymore.
Wishes, on the other hand ... I wish I was getting a chance to see it before it leaves. I think it's wonderful that they're trying to give us so much new stuff, but I'm definitely going to miss Wishes.

I am with you on the weather/skin situation. My skin and the cold do not get along, and the wind only makes it worse. It is not fun.

Single Digits!! OMG! In case I don't get back here before you leave ... have a wonderful trip!
