Did you do the virtual queue for the new balance shoes? How does that work? Do I really need to do a virtual queue? I'll be going to the expo for Light Side but not sure what time exactly. I'd love the Space Mountain shoes since it's my favorite ride and the only "roller coaster" I'll ride. Ironic that I can't ride it this time and never had a chance during Tink last year. Argh!

Yes I did. I signed up for it on Tuesday night.

They texted me a time to come back, and then again when it was my turn. I got the text from them an hour before my estimated time and I was sitting on a plane, so obviously I didn't make it.

I showed up anyway and they said the time didn't really matter, I just needed proof that I had a reservation. Someone else wanted shoes that didn't have a reservation and they were just told "no" - so I guess you do need it, at least on the first day. Not sure what happens after the first day.

It turned out that I could get up to 6 pairs of shoes with my one reservation. I had someone assigned to me and he grabbed what I had reserved (HM) and then asked if I wanted anything else. I'd been planning on trying on and potentially getting the SM shoes eventually - he helped me get the right size since they are men's sizing. I can grab more pics for you later.

So I would say making the reservation is worth it if you really want the shoes! It didn't cost anything, unlike purse pre-orders where you pay the Active fees.

Thanks for the info! Just looked at the site I hope a size 7 mens isn't too big for me since I'm a 8 womens. Looks like the queue is closed right now, I guess it'll open up again for Light Side later.

Check it the night before the expo opens. You'll need your bib number.

They're pretty cool...but I actually ended up returning them. I felt so guilty buying 2 pairs! I'll think about it more and maybe grab a pair at Princess or Tink.

So, I guess the cancellation of the 1/2 due to weather makes running Dopey that much easier. LOL! But joking aside, how do feel? Is this a blessing in disguise? Or a bummer? It's definitely a bummer for those who only came to run that one race It does seem like they are being fairly generous with the reimbursement and/or deferral and the runner still gets the medal.

Those HM shoes!!! I'm doing light side this weekend and on the fence about getting them. I don't run in NB so hard to justify spending so much $$ but I am a YUGE HM fan.
Sorry about the half being cancelled...at least you've done Dopey and Goofy before, but I'm sure it's still a letdown. Disney made the right call, and it sounds like they are making a real effort to make this right as best as they can.

For me, it's both. I'm disappointed but relieved at the same time. I feel terrible for non-challenge half runners (as this is their only race of the weekend, like you said) - especially if this was to be their first half. I've gotten to do the first 2 races and have tomorrow, AND I'm getting a gift card back. I totally think runDisney made the right call and am impressed with how they have handled it.

Red top is 5K, BB-8 is 10K, and orange is me attempting 13.1 around the parks this morning (I stopped at 7ish miles...it was cold and rainy!)

I don't run in NB either but I like this style of shoe to wear casually!

I'm a little let down like you said - but also like you said I have done Goofy and Dopey, so I think I have a different perspective from first-timers...I really feel for them.
