A Pink Pixie Princess - Complete!

DOPEY PART DEUX

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

A last-minute brain dump...

- I have checked in for my flight...!!
- Mr. A reminded me that since I have a frequent parking card at the airport (through work), that I should finally check and see if I earned any parking rewards, which is something that is advertised on this card. I have had the card for...7-8 years and have never remembered to check. Turns out I have 2.5 weeks of free airport parking built up!! So I get to park my car for free this week, which will save me $60-$70! :teeth:
- Big subject of discussion...the weather. It's going to be a cool-ish weekend (if current forecasts hold), which is GREAT for me! I think the cooler weather saved me in 2015. But it's made me re-think my race outfits, so I have a few back-up/warmer options packed, along with throwaway clothes. Gonna be a last-minute decision on what to wear for each race, I think! And with rain in the forecast for Saturday (ack!!) I picked up some ponchos this morning at a drugstore to wear in the corrals. I'm also bringing a newspaper in case I need it to help dry my shoes out (take out insoles and stuff shoes with newspaper. Change paper after 1 hour - change again after 2-3 hours - then leave in a 3rd set of paper overnight. Helps the shoes dry quickly!). Here's hoping we have a dry half marathon!
- The merch preview is up...it's just okay, I think. :confused3 I could see getting a Dopey "I did it!" shirt and some Sweaty Bands, but probably not much else. Here's to spending less money in 2017!
- Lastly...and I know you have been waiting on the edge of your seats for this...I have selected my race weekend bag. :faint: The Americano Park Hopper by Harveys:

I picked this bag for a few reasons...first, there are some running Mickeys on it, so it seems on-theme:

32038933676_2cd7ef6e3d_z.jpg

Second, the seatbelt material will hold up to rain (sigh). And third, this bag can be worn crossbody or as a backpack. I know my back will get sore if I carry a crossbody bag all day in the parks, so having the option to connvert to a backpack and give my back a break is REALLY nice.

Random purse-related note: I have sold almost all of my Dooneys! I am down to 2...one I plan on selling when this trip is over, the other I may actually keep (the 20th anniversary running Mickey marathon print). I am so proud of myself! :wizard:

And that's it! I'm sure I'll see some of you around this weekend - good luck everyone! :yay:

CUTE bag!!! I'm really hoping that rain won't be a problem. I'm loving the cooler temps for the runs, but a bit bummed for my kids since I've been talking up Stormalong Bay for MONTHS now. Maybe too cold to swim. :( But, oh well, we will be in Disney. Hope I see you there.

I can't believe it is Dopey time already! Good luck and I look forward to your race report(s)!

Hope to see you for the 2018 marathon! I started my training last night (one mile on the treadmill - hey, I have two kids under 2) :P

Wait...I actually completed ALL of my runs this week?! What even!

Yay!!! It's a Taper Miracle!! (and by miracle I mean hard work and dedication)

Friday it was back to crazy cold weather and icy sidewalks, so I opted to stick to our treadmill. I watched Finding Nemo per @SarahDisney recommendation (a good one!). The last mile seemed to drag on forever but overall, not a bad run.

I'm glad the movie suggestion worked for you!

So this was the last run of 2016 for me. Total mileage for the year: 702.45. I'm seriously surprised it was that high considering I barely ran in the beginning of the year (I didn't even break 100 miles for the year until late April!).

That's awesome mileage for the year, especially considering the injury (and required running break). Awesome job!!!

Overall general goal: BE HAPPIER and BE BETTER. I spent so much of 2016 being miserable, for a few reasons, and it's time to let all of that go. I know it's easier said that done, but I am going to focus on just choosing to try to be happier - notice the good things in life, be thankful for what I have (the awesome Mr. A, for example - he deserves a happier wife! :lovestruc he's been so great to me during these tough periods), etc. I feel I need to majorly change how I see myself, because I have been thinking of myself as being so sad and broken for months now...I need to see myself as someone that is happy and strong, and deserves to be happy and strong. If you can dream it, you can do it, right? :wizard:

I love this.
Sometimes, especially when you're struggling, it's hard to be positive and be happy. But you need to remember that you are awesome and you deserve to be the strong, happy, and generally amazing person that you are! (And remember that even if you don't feel awesome, we all see how awesome you are and would be happy to remind you if you ever need help remembering)

- Lastly...and I know you have been waiting on the edge of your seats for this...I have selected my race weekend bag. :faint: The Americano Park Hopper by Harveys:

I have actually been waiting for this ... I'm pretty sure I read this journal 75% for the bags and 25% for everything else. #sorrynotsorry
I love it! So cute, and definitely appropriate for race weekend!

Good luck this weekend - I'm sure you'll do great, and don't forget to have a ton of fun!

Good luck and safe travels! Yay for free airport parking! If I see you over the weekend I will definitely say hello. Even if I am awkward and weird, lol. :)

Woo hoo! Good luck and have fun! You are a Dopey veteran so you know what to expect and how to manage the time on your feet. So exciting! Wish I was there this weekend but hopefully next year! Hoping you treat us to a TR!

@SarahDisney the correct breadkdown of why to read this journal is:
75% bags I want to buy
75% leggings and cool clothes I want to buy
75% running
110% beagles

Did I math right?

@Ariel484 You are probably already on your journey towards expo fun and running but wanted to just give you one last YOU GOT THIS!!!!
You are so helpful on all the run threads and I hope all the good karma comes to find you during the races. Maybe the clouds can be kind to you on Saturday too.
And if you happen to get to the New Balance booth, please tell the HM shoes that I will see them soon :)

I'm nervous that the rain will turn into t-storms. No delays or cancellations, please!

Hopefully I'll run into you guys! I'll be just across the lake starting tomorrow. :)

Hope to see you for the 2018 marathon! I started my training last night (one mile on the treadmill - hey, I have two kids under 2) :P
Thanks Steph! Unfortunately I don't think 2018 is going to happen for me :(

Great job on that mile! I can't imagine doing this with kiddos!
Yay!!! It's a Taper Miracle!! (and by miracle I mean hard work and dedication)
Nope, just divine intervention I think! ;)
I'm glad the movie suggestion worked for you!
Yes! It was a great choice because I hadn't seen it in awhile, and it's just so pretty to look at! :)
That's awesome mileage for the year, especially considering the injury (and required running break). Awesome job!!!
I was seriously surprised to see that it was even over a few hundred! Marathon training will do that, I guess.
I love this.

Thanks Sarah! You are so sweet. :) I felt considerably less-than-awesome for most of the year - 2017 will be better! ::yes::

It's working out great so far! I can fit a ton in it. Did you see the race Dooney? I think it's a little boring. :confused3
Good luck this weekend - I'm sure you'll do great, and don't forget to have a ton of fun!
Thanks!! Having fun so far! :)

May the Force be with you this weekend! What can I say? I'm a Star Wars geek. :darth::chewy:

Just love the bag!!!

Did you do the virtual queue for the new balance shoes? How does that work? Do I really need to do a virtual queue? I'll be going to the expo for Light Side but not sure what time exactly. I'd love the Space Mountain shoes since it's my favorite ride and the only "roller coaster" I'll ride. Ironic that I can't ride it this time and never had a chance during Tink last year. Argh!
