A Photo Safari Halloween Solo Trip for Oct'13: Trip Report Started!

So.. I don't think I have ever seen DiVine... I would like to... However, I walked right past a lady in bronze make up a few weeks ago when we were in Boston.... I thought it was a statue - until she handed out a fortune/wisdom thingy... I should show my kid this - she notices everything! She is slightly more observant than I.....!

Great job with your January ADRs! And a big whew! BoG worked out fine it sounds like for your party of 7. When you check in if you can tell them that you want a table together it shouldn't be a problem since you are only 5 minutes apart. I agree about Sci-Fi... it may be expendable but if you are going to be in DHS it may be a decent option that the kids enjoy.

I don't know what my excuse is but your F&W line up had me drooling and it's not quite midnight snack time!! :rotfl2: I would love to go during F&W sometime.

What a dad - keeping those promises!! :lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl: We might have to work out a deal on the pictures Dave. There might be a costume change happening for MNSSHP for me and I can use as little photographic evidence as possible for that one. ;)

I'm not sure I like this deal. It sounds like we might be missing out on some epic pictures now.

So this is sort of what I'm envisioning I will look like if DDuck4Life captures me on the camera while going to town on one of the food items at FW:

I've seen videos of people getting caught completely off guard at AK as they are walking by DiVine when she suddenly starts moving :goodvibes

Hi Brenda! I did indeed let out a sigh of relief when I secured that second ADR for BOG last week! One of the things I'm debating about in the Sci Fi is the clips they play on the movie screen. My kids are a bit squeamish about the appearance of some movies - I mean let's face it, DD was terrified of Captain Hook up until a year ago so you can see how little it takes to scare them! So I'm wondering how they would respond to the clips. Maybe I'll go find a youtube clip of Sci Fi Dine in and gauge for myself.

I'm thinking I might be able to return to FW for awhile after this trip. So that's one of the reason I'm trying to pack it all in! :lmao: That and I love food. I think I've said that already a few times. ;)

Last night when I told DD that I made a reservation for BBB she literally squealed. :rotfl: I'm just going to have to be prepared and make my outfits and luggage all glitter proof because I'm pretty sure we'll be glitter-bombed when we return to our hotel room that night! :rotfl:

Ooohhhh I totally had forgotten about that! :rotfl: Yes, we can make a deal! Before the change in your costume plans, I was going to offer to take a nice family picture of the three of you at MNSSHP but now I'm thinking you may not want it? :goodvibes

I'm not sure I like this deal. It sounds like we might be missing out on some epic pictures now.

No worries, Andy...there will be LOTS of pictures! :thumbsup2

Spent my lunch hour calling Disney BBB reservations. I was talking with DD at bedtime last night about our January trip and she told me she really wanted to try BBB instead of the Pirates League so I went ahead and made a reservation for her. I started chuckling though when the first automated prompt involved the Fairy Godmother trying to find her misplaced wand. Then I got to hear the music from Soarin' while on hold. That just got me more excited about the trip in October which is 82 days away!

When I called BBB as my round-a-bout way of ordering my MNSSHP tickets, I thought that their hold schpiel was fantastic! It was so much fun to listen to, I would have been ok with a couple more minutes on hold to hear more of it. Seriously.

and LMAO on the 'new' tag-team photo hunt item. Sounds epic and definitely should be documented!

:rotfl: This is too funny. Like I said, my greatest fear is looking like George Costanza. As that episode proved, you really don't recover from that. ;)

I completely agree with you about the BBB line. I actually didn't know they had their own dedicated line. So when I heard the Fairy Godmother going on about her missing magic wand it just caught me by surprise and I started laughing.

Knowing how much both of us enjoy photography, there's a very good chance that we will not be identifiable in any pictures of either of us because of the chronically attached cameras to our faces! :lmao:

Spaceship Earth - The Ride

Here's a little secret and I am a bit ashamed to admit it. I have never gone on Spaceship Earth. Yup. Never. After all those trips. I don't know how this streak got started but every time we got Epcot I can't seem to find the time to breakaway from Soarin, or Nemo, or Test Track to hop on this attraction inside the beautifully oversized golf ball. So while I have lots of pictures of SE from the outside, I have zilch from the inside and I'm planning on changing that.

A bit ashamed?? ;) SE is a must do for us. However I refuse to wait more than 5 minutes :)

:goodvibes I also feel guilty because my kids have never been on it either. It's probably because so far we haven't spent as much time in Epcot as we have in other parks. Plus it's very difficult to get them away from The Great Piggy Bank Adventure. DD usually spends about an hour going back to back to back to back on that game in Innoventions. :lmao:

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

WHAT?!?!?!?

Can't find the time???? How is that??? I don't think I've ever waited more than 15 - 20 minutes for that one. Usually closer to 5 or 10. :rolleyes1

You've been missing out on a classic dark ride. And I'm going to give you a specific scene to photograph. Just to keep you on your toes. :lmao:

How about Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel?:thumbsup2

Your shameful secret is just as bad as mine! hahaha

I'm not quite in the category of SE is a must do and I love it so so so much, but I do like it. I like that it's a classic ride and it can be a nice break from warm temps. Plus it's fun to be IN the ball!

No way! Never? Oh man, I really hope you make time for it. It may be no Test Track, but it's a worthy ride in its own right. :thumbsup2

What the what?!?! I just learn so many things on the DIS...another TR I'm reading the writer had NEVER seen Wishes!!! I'm sure there's things I've never done that would amaze people too. :rotfl: I'm glad you are planning to rectify this situation though, because SE is a classic!!!

Well you know, 10 minute wait time in line but it takes another 10 minutes to walk over from the Land Pavilion, and another 5 minutes convincing DD that it's not a scary type of dark ride and another......ok, you're right. I have no excuse. :rotfl:

Exactly. I'm kind of excited about finally finding out what's been inside the golf ball all these years! :lmao:

I know, and reading everyone's reaction to my confession is making me think that I may have been ignoring a gem all this time. I definitely will make time for it this time. :thumbsup2

Although, not sure if the Test Track comparison is helping me - is this one like TRON too? ;) Just kidding :lmao:

Not only will I correct this wrong but I will take a gazillion pictures and post ALL of them on my trip report just to prove that I was there. :rotfl: Hmmm, I do believe my camera can get off 8 shots per second. And it's about 15 minute ride. So if I hold down the shutter button the whole time, that would give me.......ummm.......a gazillion pictures!! :cool1:

Glassblowing Demonstration in Main Street

One of the things I'm looking forward to is taking time to explore Main Street and really soak in the atmosphere. There are few things I have been wanting to see but haven't had a chance to. One of which is the glassblowing demonstration. I've seen a couple of Youtube clips and it looks pretty interesting!

Haha I have yet to ride the new test track so my comparison was to the old one -- ie a machine shop!

Nice one, I've seen them doing the glass blowing a few times and its really something to watch! All the colours in the glass! The challenge is the extreme lighting differences. Can't wait to see what you get!

That's a good point about the lighting differences! I'll have to see what I can work with once I get there - it's hard to predict based on other people's pictures.
