A Overplanner's Pre-Trip Report

I'm late to the party, but I'm here! Just got all caught up on your PTR - whew! You have had a lot going on this year! Sounds like you have a wonderful, much deserved vacation coming up! I know this is late, but I'll chime in that FOTLK and Nemo are both awesome shows! They are our favorites in all of WDW, so definitely see them if your family likes show-type attractions:) Also, I think I read on a blog somewhere that they would be relocating the FOTLK once they build Avatar land. So hopefully it's not going away....just moving? I can't recall for sure where I read that, so I would definitely see it this trip just in case I'm wrong:) Thanks for sharing all your plans with us - I love seeing other people's enthusiasm for Disney!

I like that Minnie Mouse notebook. Some of the artists who do those sorts of things (notebooks and school stuff) do some fun stuff -- I still remember some of the notebooks covers put out in 1976 (possibly because I may have saved a few :rolleyes1 ), with Bicentennial themes. I think they get the most creative with the Fab Five. The Princesses are maybe just as iconic, but they don't get to have as much fun. ;)

I've read that somewhere, too, but I can't remember if it's a rumor or official, either. I sure hope it happens, because that's one pretty much everyone who likes shows at all appreciates.

Better late than never!! Thanks for joining in!! I love it when I know that people are reading what I write. Sometimes I feel like I'm just going on and on. LOL!!

I love it to. They are so cute! I'm not much into the Princesses. I guess it's a good thing I had a boy. LOL!

I'm hoping that maybe they are moving FOTLK to another area!! It's a popular show and I can't imagine them doing away with it completely. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Okay, so I took Buddy to the vet today and got his stitches removed. He lost another 4 pounds and his vet was ecstatic about it.

I heard back from my TA and I don't think I will be getting a cake. The cake is $42 and serves 8-10 people. That's just a little pricey and too big for us. She did say that they can do a regular cake for $22, but the thing is that Chris likes the sugar decoration. I'm going to think on it and see what I decide.

Mike told me that he wants to take Chris on the Mouseboats. I think it would be cool to see Chris drive his own. I'm not one for boats. At least not little boats. I get big time sea sick. Which is funny because I lived in Florida and grew up on the water. I never had a problem with it before until I went off to college. Then, I got sick even looking at water. LOL!!

I don't think I mentioned it here, but I definitely want to get the Mouse hats for the different countries. I especially want the Mexico, Canada, France and Germany. I would love to get them all, but those are the main ones that I want.

Awww sorry to hear about the cake. Yes, they are pricey. Have you thought of checking with Publix? They may be able to do something for you that's more affordable, and I can vouch for the quality of the cakes. :thumbsup2

Collecting the hats sounds like fun! I have only my set of traditional ears (given to us for being in the parade), and a set of Minnie headband style. DH is trying to convince me to bring the Minnie ones to wear this time, but I just don't know.

I'm looking at eating lunch at one of the parks. Either Epcot or DHS. Personally I would love to do Tokyo Dining. I love, love love Sushi and just reading the menu is making my mouth water!! LOL!!

Yeah, I can't eat shellfish, but I can eat fish and other things. I haven't had good sushi since we moved to Alabama. Did I mention that I love sushi? LOL!!

They have steak and chicken so the pickier eaters in my family will be happy. LOL!! If they decide that they don't want to eat there they can always go grab something else. LOL!! I want some sushi and I want it on vacation!! LOL!!

I love sushi. So yummy. I have never tried it at Tokyo Dining, but I have heard that it is good.

I have had it at the Cali Grill and its amazing. My DH won't eat sushi, but my son Nick and I love it.

Sounds like you plans are continuing to evolve. I would love to meet up, but I think we are probably just missing each other. I don't arrive until Octobber 16th.

Pity about the cake. OTOH, with your meal plans, it's not like your son will be lacking in decadence. ;)

I've never even heard of these! They sound fun, though. Guess I'll need to go looking. Won't be collecting, though -- would cut into my Disney Pins budget. :p

Here's a link to the Germany ones. They are cute and just cheesy enough for me to want them. LOL!! I'm hoping that they still have them when we go. ;)

We have soooo many Disney pins that are collecting dust on the shelves. I even have a book that's semi filled with them. Lots of Figment ones so I can understand the budgeting for Disney pins. LOL!!

Yeah, we are leaving on the 13th. So it looks like we are going to just miss each other. Darn....

:wave2: How's it going today? :teeth:

I actually took a note out of your playbook today. I went and got some specially fitted shoes. They taped me walking and then they were able to find some shoes that fit very well.

Between those and the orthodics that they fitted me with, walking is wonderful.

Apparently I have a very high arch. Well, when I'm sitting my foot is one size and then when I stand up they get one and a half sizes bigger. So, it causes pain in my foot and then it shoots up my leg and through my knee and up into my bottom. LOL!

So, when I walked with the new shoes on, it felt 100% better. He told me not to wear them for longer than a hour and a half today. Then, increase it little by little each day. LOL! That way, I'll be used to them by the time our trip gets here.

It's going good. How's everything going with you?

Things are great, thanks for asking! :goodvibes

YAY! :yay: So glad to see you got fitted for new shoes! Make a world of difference, don't they? You'll be walking so much more comfortably in WDW this year! :woohoo:

Okay, so who decided to take their bosses dog for a walk today? Me.

Then, who decided to walk into the yard with the said dog, walk into a hole and sprain her ankle again?? If you guessed me, you would be correct! Although I can walk on it I have it on ice and it only hurts when I move it a weird way. I can walk for the most part, but it's just annoying.

So, I'm sitting here with my leg propped up and wondering why I'm such a klutz....LOL!!

Oh and on another note, my TA asked me for the link to pre-order photopass plus. I love it when people ask me for information.....

I'm starting to think there's a Disney Curse that somehow missed me the first time (Beginners' luck?). The first year we went, I had no trouble getting walking and was in pretty good shape (for me :p ) by the time we got there. Last time, I meant to follow the same routine, but kept dealing with little injuries that would lay me out for a few days and could not get a consistent routine going. And, of course, first day out I got huge blisters. Having a heck of a time getting going this time, too, although no injuries so far. Knock wood.

So you're not a klutz -- the fates are out to get Disney fans, that's what! ;)

I swear, there is some kind of curse. I'm not so worried right now, but I'm worried about my trip.

When I fell I heard a pop. I've done that before and it wasn't pretty. I can walk, but moving my foot up and down or side to side hurts like crazy. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. Hopefully they can get me in good shape.....

Oh no! Hoping your ankle heals quickly and nothing is really wrong!!!

I am so sorry to hear about your twisted ankle. That is so surprisingly easy to do. I really, really hope it heals fast and doesn't become an issue. Keep us posted. :)

So sorry to hear about your ankle. Hope the doctor's appointment goes well today and that it's nothing serious.

Make sure you update when you get back.
