A Overplanner's Pre-Trip Report

Okay, so the question for the day is this:

What do you do when your DH decides that he doesn't want charging privileges on the KTTW card? He's afraid that one of us will lose the card and then we will be in trouble.

I'm trying to convince him that it's okay to do, but my DH can be very, very stubborn sometimes.

Although this is the man that used his debit card to pay for sodas and forgot it there. He didn't realize it until the end of the night and then had to take the ferry back over to the MK and walk back to same said cart. Luckily they still had it along with a stack of other cards. The Cast Member said that it's very, very common.

We do have our Disney gift cards for the trip. A bit of cash for places that don't take debit or gift cards. I think that we are good though. So charging to the room key would probably be overkill.

I remembered what I wanted to post last night. It's amazing what comes to me when I'm not thinking about it.

I want to get our flu shot before we travel. Since DH works at Target we get ours for free. Since we are flying I want to make sure we get ours ahead of time. I don't wanna get sick on vacation. LOL!!

My ankle is still hurting me. Not as bad as it was, but I can feel it throbbing at times and it is not pleasant. I hate taking ibuprofen. Especially since it doesn't seem like it's doing any good. So, unless it starts feeling better really quick an ECV is probably a very, very sure thing......

Ah, no worries. I'm kinda leaning that way myself. Like you said, it's too easy to lose them and that's never a good thing. I already worry about losing things and that would just be one more thing for me to worry about. LOL!!

I remembered using it at Kroger yesterday evening, but then when I made a stop at Walmart last night I got to the cash register and my CC wasn't in my wallet! Thankfully I had a debit card that I could use (took a couple of tries to remember the right pin#), but I was completely freaked out! I dug through my wallet and purse, we called Kroger, and finally my DH went through my purse. Of course, the card magically appeared for him! I was slightly annoyed that he was able to find it, but mostly relieved. Definitely not drama that I would want to experience while on vacation!! I say stick with your other forms of payment. At least if you lose a credit card, you're not liable for any fraudulent purchases.

I lose my debit card ALL the time. I never put it where it belongs and am constantly looking for it. LOL! One time I lost it for an entire weekend. I was ready to call and cancel it when I found it in the washing machine. I guess I had put it in my pocket after I paid for gas. LOL!!

Now I want it. DH has told me that I'm not allowed to buy anything else clothes related before vacation. I really, really want that darn shirt. I wonder if they will have it when I get to Disney. Where to look for it? ACK!!

Some good news on Buddy. He's been giving the all clear from the vet.

I've got to have the worst luck with doctor's. I called my doctor to get something to relieve the swelling. Well, she was going to call in Celebrex, but apparently my insurance doesn't cover it. So, I called her back and told the nurse that. She was going to tell the doctor and then call it in. I'm not sure if she did or not. I guess I will see tomorrow when I go to pick it up. If not, and my ankle is still hurting I'm going to call her back and ask again. Ugh!! I swear I'm ready to give up on all doctor's. I miss my Florida doctor. She was freaking awesome and I loved her. Stupid Alabama doctor's. LOL!!

So, it's a wait and see until Tuesday. Hopefully it will feel better and I won't need it. Not going to hold my breath though. My ankle is throbbing and I wanna cut it off right now.

Got up early this morning to go to Target. DH needs new shorts for vacation. So, I got him 4 new pairs. They were on clearance so I saved there. Well, I was looking around the shirts and found a Perry the Platypus shirt. He laughed and told me to go ahead and get it. Well, I got Chris a Big Bang Theory shirt. It says Bazinga and has pictures of the whole cast. He rolled his eyes when I showed it to him when I got home. LOL!!

Target never has any shorts in my size, so I went to WalMart. They had absolutely zero pairs of shorts in my size. I was surprised because I can usually find something. Not this time. I did end up getting 4 pairs of capri's, I like them, just not as much as shorts.

Doctor's office never called in the new medicine. I figured as much. So I will be calling on Tuesday. I really need to look for a new doctor. It's just we live in such a small town and doctor's very rarely take new patients. Ugh.... I'm picky and I like the doctor, but her office staff is for the birds. LOL! Will do it after vacation.

We are going to get our flu shot this afternoon when I go to get DH at work. The pharmacist was the same one from last year and she was joking around with me. She's so nice.

I know that I overdid it with the walking today. Because my foot felt okay when I woke up this morning, but now it's hurting terribly and I didn't do that much walking. So, I'm definitely not going to be able to do a full day of walking at Disney.

I did get an ankle stabilizer for my ankle though. Using an ace bandage is for the birds sometimes. LOL!! Especially at night. Because I toss and turn so much it usually ends up all over the bed. Plus it will be good for Disney.

Hi there! I'm so sorry about your ankle - what timing! I agree that you should let an ECV do the walking, errr rolling for you. One less thing to worry about that way.

I saw so many Perry shirts at WDW - he is quite popular. They even have the cutest Perry plushes!

As for your KTTW card dilemma - we don't add charging privileges so I can't help there. I figure I eliminate the middle man by the transaction being between my bank and the vendor, not sure that Disney being in the equation has any advantages. Honestly, you now have me thinking....I can see why people would want to do that if it is multple family members or a group of people and only one is paying. Hmmm....

I hope you get your Rx quickly on Tuesday - sorry for the aggravation the office staff creates! Ugh!

Your doctor's office sounds like ours. I *love* our doctor - have ben seeing him for years and years - but his staff is HORRIBLE! They don't call back, don't call in stuff when they should, "forget" to schedule appointments or call to remind you ... I could go on. Needless to say, I'm with ya!

Glad to hear Buddy is back to being 100%.

I'm glad you're willing to consider the ECV or whatever you need. I wish my mom would consider that sort of thing; I don't expect she'll ever enjoy WDW without it, but at this point she just won't use one. Even got my dad (the Florida hater) to agree to go if she would, but she is rightfully concerned about all the walking. I know she'd have a good time if she'd just go and use a wheel chair (I've got three strong and willing teenagers willing to push it for her!) or an ECV. *sigh*

The Walmarts around here are pretty seasonal, meaning the shorts disappear mid- to late-August, even though it's still well hot enough to use them. You'd think they'd do better where you're at but they need the space for fall clothes I guess.

Good thinking! I suspect part of the reason ankles can take so long to heal is that they're kind of fragile and people end up clobbering them as they heal. I know I do.

My dad is not much of a medico, but he can wrap an ankle like nobody's business; doesn't do it like any of the books but his wrap always worked better than mine or mom's. And mom's an RN! I managed to get both ankles within a year (not at the same time, thank goodness), and watched him wrap a number of times but just never developed the knack; even when my wraps didn't come off in bed they weren't helping much. I think wrapping an ankle with an ace bandage is more art than science.

Sorry to hear that your ankle is still bothering you. I hope that the ankle support and the new medicine (if you can get it) is helping. Such a bummer.

I guess it would be pretty hard to ask someone to drive your to the airport at 4am. Kind-of early. I guess you just have to bite the bullet and pay to park.

If you have plenty of gift cards and cash, then there is probably no need to add a charge card to your room key. But if you lose it, just go to any guest services and the other card becomes inactive. I am sure you could dispute any charges, but now they email you your bill.

I didn't buy anything over the weekend. I've been trying to hold back unless it's something I really want. LOL! Although I did buy some toothpaste!!

Wait, I did buy a binder that matches my little Minnie Mouse notebook. It was on clearance so that just makes it all that more fun!!

My doctor's office FINALLY called in a new medicine for me.Only took like 6 calls to get them to. Ugh!!

We got our flu shot on Sunday. I love our pharmacist. they do give the pneumonia shot. I have to get it every year because I have asthma and I get chest colds like crazy.

So, DH and I were talking yesterday and he asked me what I want to do for my birthday. I told him that I wanted to go to Disney!! LOL! He just gave me a look. I told him that I didn't want anything. We are going to be at Disney two weeks after my birthday so I figure I can find something there that I want. LOL! He wants to do something so I told him that he can take me out to dinner at our favorite restaurant!

I can't believe that it's less than a month before we leave!! It just seems unreal. Can't wait!!

Well, I definitely have some favorite places at Disney, but since DH wants to actually celebrate on my birthday, we are going to go out to eat. Probably at the Mexican place near my house.

I'm anxious, but nervous at the same time. LOL!!

Well, I went to Target today and ended up buying something else to use for vacation. Every time I think I'm done shopping I find something else. LOL!

Well, I made up sheets for our ADR's. They have where we are eating. The time that our ADR is and a bunch of other stuff to help me give a good dining review. Well, I'm printing them out on copy paper and going to use a 3 hole punch to put them in my binder. LOL!

Then I figure that I'll make some up for what we did each day. Yes, I will post it when I'm done. LOL! It should be sometime tonight. Hopefully.... LOL!!

Okay, so you might remember this little goodie that I bought last week:

Well, I was shopping at Target on Sunday and found this little beauty to go with it:

So, inside of it I have notebook paper. Well, I printed out some sheets on my printer. Each sheet has the ADR on it and spaces for what each of us ordered and ratings for each one. Kind of like my own little review sheet. I tried uploading it to photobucket, but it's being a pain tonight.

It's a Disney font since I make graphics and love the Disney fonts. LOL!

My ankle felt better this morning, but I think I overdid it. It's hurting tonight. I have an appointment with her tomorrow. I know that I have arthritis in my ankles. My podiatrist told me it's because I've broken/sprained/strained them so many times. I might talk to her about that and see if there isn't something that she can do for that. It's no fun have crappy ankles.

Had a really bad day at work today. It's just one of those days that make you want to quit. Ugh.... Got some bad news and am really upset over it......

Oh and my article for my TA's website is going to be published tomorrow. I can't wait!! I've written other articles, but this is just awesome.....
