A Merry Mickey Christmas INDEX

This morning we had a little lie-in then after breakfast we went shopping at Walmart to buy drinks and snacks for our room and bottled water to take on our cruise. I also bought a couple of Disney T-shirts and the girls bought loads of things from the Miley Cyrus and Max Azaria range ~ it's a shame they don't sell these in Asda.

We had to be at Epcot for our Candlelight Processional dining package meal at Mexico's San Angel Inn at 2pm, I think we were in the car park about 1pm.

It seemed strange seeing Spaceship Earth without Mickey's hand, I do miss it.

We headed straight to World Showcase where Epcot's Christmas tree was located

before arriving at Mexico.

We just had time to ride the Grand Fiesta Tour before our ADR time. I had unsuccessfully tried to book Le Cellier for the Candlelight package and some of the reviews of San Angel Inn hadn't been favourable but we chose this as we wanted to try somewhere we hadn't eaten before.

We were sat right by the water so had a great view of the pyramid and the volcano.

If you dine at the Blue Lagoon inside Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Paris guests on boats riding past call out Bon Appetit to you but I didn't notice that happening here or maybe I was talking too much to hear! :rotfl:

Day3_6.jpg

San Angel Inn is a beautiful setting and our food was lovely. It is so dark in there you can't really see what you are eating which is a probably a good thing when I look back at my photos :lmao: as I'm not sure I would have wanted my dinner if I had seen those black beans in daylight!! :rotfl:

Danielle, Francesca and Bryan chose Tacos de Pato (tortillas with duck marinated with tamarind sauce and garnished with avocado, pineapple, and chives) for their starter

Day3_7.jpg

whilst Samantha and I had Sopa Azteca, a traditional tortilla, avocado, cheese and pasilla pepper soup, which was absolutely delicious although neither of us ate that black blob!! :lmao:

Day3_8.jpg

For main course the girls all chose Enchilladas Verdes de Pollo (tortillas again :rotfl: ) look :earseek: at those black beans on the top-left

Day3_9.jpg

whilst Bryan and I both had Sirloin con Chilaquiles (sirloin with layers of fried corn tortilla, green tomatillo sauce, topped with queso fresco, onion, and sour cream) served with, oh yes, black beans

Day3_10.jpg

For dessert Francesca chose vanilla ice-cream

Day3_11.jpg

whilst the rest of us enjoyed a white chocolate mousse with berries.

There is no way I would ever normally order three courses in here as the portions are not only huge but VERY filling but, as you have to pay a set price on the CP dining package, in effect you are paying for three courses, even if you don't order them. We all liked it in here and would go back ~ just goes to prove to always take other people's reviews with a pinch of salt.

We spent the afternoon wandering round some of the countries, bought some Christmas decorations, then made our way to America for the Candlelight Processional.

Day3_13.jpg

We had chosen one of Whoopi Goldberg's nights ~ it was her first year as a CP narrator and we were really looking forward to it.

We could pick up from people's conversations that most of them were locals who come in every year for this ~ I can understand why, it was so lovely, and I would definitely want to experience it again if I ever return for the Christmas season.

After it had finished we looked round some more countries, had our photo taken at the Christmas tree

and on the way out Bryan bought a Mickey polo shirt and a Mickey tie from Mouse Gear.

I saw this print in Art of Disney and was unsure if I liked it or not. In the end I got it and now that I've had it framed I'm glad that I did.

One last photo of Spaceship Earth and we were on our way home for an early night.

Tomorrow ~ off to Port Canaveral to catch the Disney Wonder :boat:

Great trippie again Elaine, and I can see why you went for the print. I bet it looks even more impressive in real life.

Love the family photos. I really enjoyed the Mexican when we were there, loved the setting of it and I thought the food was really good.:)

Love the print so much that i bought it as a cross stitch pattern a few years ago and it looks great.

1 quick question can you dine at any time under the cp package or does it have to be directly before the performance???

Another fab day nd Whoopi Goldberg - wow !!

Another great day Elaine. I bet the choir was very moving to watch and an added treat to get Whoopi :) There seems to be so much to see at Xmas that it must feel really special. It's just the crowds that put me off especially as we're used to going in Feb.

Hate to think what the black blob was in your meal

another great day, i'd love to visit at Christmas time, maybe someday .....love the print :thumbsup2

Another lovely day Elaine. We miss the Mickey hand over SpaceShip Earth too. More lovely photos, I can't wait to read about your cruise ::yes::

another great day :goodvibes

Lovely day, I really like your print. Can't wait to here all about the cruise!:)

I think the print is lovely Elaine:love::love:

I love the CP it never fails to make my teary eyed:thumbsup2

I love the print Elaine, its great, lovely day and great photos, cant wait for more:goodvibes

The Candlelight Processional sounds lovely - another thing to put on the "to do" list. :)

Another lovely day, I look forward to the rest:goodvibes

Thanks for all your lovely comments :goodvibes I have now scanned in the official cruise photos so hope to get the next instalment up this weekend.
1 quick question can you dine at any time under the cp package or does it have to be directly before the performance???
You have to eat beforehand, I think I had to reserve it with a credit card (not absolutely sure, it's so long ago now) but you don't pay until after you've eaten when the CM gives you your tickets, as with Fantasmic ~ we had to eat at lunchtime with our (the first) performance but I'm not sure how restrictive the times are as I just grabbed what was on offer!

Im surprised there were no black beans in the ice cream :lmao:
:lmao:

I'm surprised I didn't have nightmares about those beans for weeks!!

I loved the Candlelight Processional. Great print as well. I'm not a fan of black beans so won't be trying for an ADR there!
