 :earseek: :earseek: I hope I didn't make a mistake but I went through priceline and put in what I thought would be a ridiculous price ($65) for the hotel ( they said to put in about $175) for the 3 star hotel in the Disney area. I got it and it's at Best Western. My hubby doesn't know and I sure hope he doesn't get upset at me!!!!! Any of you ever been there? It's the one at Downtown Disney. It shows on it's website rooms with disney fireworks rooms!!! That would be cool!!!  I wonder what I would need to do to get one of these rooms. Any suggestions from anyone who has used priceline before?

Go to biddingfortravel.com and click on the Orlando area hotels and you can see some reviews of this property.

It looks like the going rate on Priceline for this place is anywhere between $20 - $35 per nite. I think you may have gotten a little excited and overbid just a tad.

It'll be a wonderful vacation! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::
If you spent just a few more dollars than necessary just chalk it up to educational expense. We all do it, unless we just get lucky and end up here first.

Want to hear how much tuition I paid??? WE BOUGHT INTO A TIMESHARE that wasn't DVC back in 1988. Anyway, you learned something that didn't cost that much for the lesson and it's a neat location with transportation. I looked at the website and am impressed with their webmaster, it's very nice. Anything you spent extra you'll save double next vacation. Just plan for a GREAT time. You might feel better if you join their "club"? Is there a BW club? You might look online, then if there is a club join and call in your number and have it put on your ressie. While you're on the phone doing that you could share with the person on the line about your trepidation (sp?). Maybe they will assure you.

You did overpay a bit as the usual rate is under $40 on Priceline however you did save alot off the regular price!

The location is great and the hotel is decent enough. Be aware there is a $5.95 resort fee per day added on too.

what a nice positive, encouraging post! :) Not that the others were negative or anything..........it's just nice to see someone pat someone else on the back and make them feel good.

Nice going!

Ok , so I'm not going to let Rob see this site since I overbid. I think it was good though because I know several hotels have been booked up for our time in October because of Columbus Day and some conventions. I emailed the hotel with the conformation number and asked if I could be upgraded to a room with the Epcot view. It says you can see the whole Epcot show from these rooms. I'm going to check out those sites. Reviews from Expedia were very good for the hotel. So, my fingers are crossed cause I have to tell hubby tonight!

Relax! I think you did great!..I have stayed here via Prieline and paid a little less, but you still beat the lowest published fare on a EXCELLENT location and a decent hotel.....

I don't think you will be sorry for the price you paid.....it is definately worth it...3

When we checked in, we didn't ask for any certain view, but when we got to the room , the sink would not drain so we ran downstairs and asked for someone to fix it...they gave us a different room with a beautiful view!

You will have a wonderful vacation in a great location

You will LOVE that hote i think - we did at our stay last August - it was great. We didnt't ask for an upgrade, but showed out Best Western Gold Crowne Club card and I think that got us a nicer view even with the PriceLine rate.

Some have reported that they are offered a view of Epcot for an additional amount. If you don't want to pay that or can't get the Epcot view, here is what you do:

The stairs in the back of the building are outside (but covered). Just go up to about the 8th floor and you will have a great view of the fireworks no problems and no one will be out there.

Say hi to the birds in the lobby!

It's no big deal that you overbid. You bid what you wanted to spend. Next time you'll know to start lower, that's all. You still got a nice discount on the regular rate. The hotel is in a nice area and I think you'll have a great time.

:bounce: :earsgirl: :teeth:

Thanks for all the encouraging words everyone! Rob came home and had a FIT that I had made reservations for $65 a night but I just let him do his ranting and raving!

Best Western emailed me this morning to tell me the reservation manager was on vacation but they would put my request in as soon as she got back. They also said if worst came to worst that I could just pay the $10 extra a night to get on one of the top floors. They were very quick to answer and seemed very helpful. So I learned my mistake but I'm still glad I got it. As far as Rob goes we're (me and the girls 9 & 15) are thinking we will leave him home if he doesn't change his attitude! :p
