I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask...but why not..I'm a 31 year old guy and it seems that lately the women I've dated don't understand why I like Disney so much, or think it's cute but aren't into going there.

Obviously I'd like to find a partner who shares my love for Disney, so my question to all of you is, how did you meet your Disney loving partner??

I figure maybe hearing some of your stories will give me new ideas of where to meet a Disney loving woman!!

No luck with any single runners ? I'm guessing not, but thats all I could come up with to help you!!!!

Good luck. My guy doesnt get the need to go to Disney all the time for every vacation, but enjoys it like a big kid when we do go together.

Honestly... right now? Here.

Just being social on some of the threads on the DIS ended up bringing me and my current DGF together.

I know how you feel. NOONE seems to get my Disney obsession...except my mom...LOL!

I'd like to find out myself! In fact, it would be great to meet someone who loves (or even likes/tolerates) all the theme parks listed in my signature. :)

I have yet to meet my Dis Partner, and at least getting why I love disney so much is a requirement, sooo I'll stay single until then :)

I am SO excited because I just found out that I am going to Disney World next weekend with my sister and her family! Everyone keeps telling me I am crazy for getting so excited about it and I need to grow up. Guess I'll try out some of these threads.

That's very exciting. The people around me just understand. LOL They know I love Disney World and they're just like, eh, that's just Kelli. LOL

I'll let you know if I ever find my Disney-lovin' prince! I would love to hear some of the Disney-love stories though. :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc

Indeed. Everyone has their own interests from their youth, like football. We like Disney. It is okay.

DH and I met in a yahoo chat room 10 years ago. Our first date consisted of chocolate pudding and jungle book (i'd just had my tonsils out and couldn't eat solids). He randomly picked jungle book to watch...thus began our shared disney discussions.

We have so many other things in common, but we both love disney. We got engaged the day we saw beauty and the beast on broadway.

He'd never been to wdw though, so I took him for our 1st anniv, he became totally hooked. We started pin trading together and now to pin trading meetups in our hobby store.

We are decorating our computer room disney style.

We just lucked out with the disney stuff. I don't think you have to fully share it though to pick your partner. I soooo don't get why he enjoys the card game Magic the Gathering and he doesn't get my cow collection. It's all about meeting in the middle. Disney in common is a bonus :lovestruc.

Good luck.

I'm still trying....... It would be great to meet someone who loves dis as much as I do. Until then, my next trip is with my beautiful mom next labor day!

I meet a lot of people and usually one of the first things out of my mouth is Disney related, people def don't get it. They just think its silly. Its such a let down to me when someone doesn't at least share a little of my enthusiasm for the parks and what not- its a big part of my life, and my sons!!

I do have a sweet disney story though, I saw my first proposal at disney, it was very sweet! So I guess there are people that either understand or tolerate the disney love!!

I'm still waiting on finding my Prince Charming :) People don't understand how Disney is such a huge part of my life, that it's in my DNA. I mean my parents met back in 1983 in the German Pavilion at EPCOT. They were both working with Disney and met there. I'm quite literally a Disney Baby. And my father worked for the Disney Company until he passed away 20 years later.
Yup, finding someone who understands Disney seems difficult :) But it'll happen :D

Thanks everyone for sharing...at least I know I'm not alone....so to speak! haha.

Trying to find a DIS runner is a good idea but there seems to be one problem...I'm usually running up front with just men (sorry if that sounds arrogant, but I've finished in the top-3 at the last two wine and dine's and top-10 at the Disney Marathon 3x). My old boss told me I should run with my phone # on my shirt..haha.

Aloha your not crazy...I'm going in January and I'm more excited for that then Christmas...haha...so don't ever grow up!

Thanks for the advice on the Facebook group, I'll check it out and I hope everyone has a Happy Holidays! 14 more days until I'm in WDW!!

for me it was about finding someone who was open minded about going. she didn't need to get why i love disney so long as she is happy that it's something that makes me happy. and that's worked for us.

plus, she has an amazing time when we go down there. i guess, so long as she's happy that it makes me happy. and is happy when we go, that's all that matters to me.

our first trip, i took her to the HDR, and she was so skeptical, but i have some wonderful pics of her beaming wile playing the wash board. it was a great i told ya so moment.

I'd like to know this myself... and especially as an African-American woman it seems much harder. However, I have great fun over at the "its 5'o clock somewhere" thread, and have met a lot of great folks. Maybe one day I will trip over him.... oh, and I tried disdates but damn that place is like a ghost town. LOL.

I can totally relate. I'm looking for my dis partner in crime as well! Luckily my asst. principal found her dis partner, so I have faith dis lovers do find each other. Until then, I'll be enjoying my solo trips! Next solo trip I think will be the Tower of Terror 10-milers (my first Disney race!!! EEK)! :cool1:

Good luck at the Tower of Terror 10 miler!! I'm thinking of doing it because I've done the Wine and Dine and the Marathon (going for the marathon in a two weeks!).

You'll have a great time! The Disney races are awesome and everyone is so nice and helpful!! Have fun!!
