I am trying to think outside of the box, but I am getting no where

We added another day to the beginning of our BCV reservation. Well I should say I changed our flights to fly into MCO on 12/4. I have waitlisted both BCV and SSR (both waitlists are for a 2br). I want to optimize my chances of of getting a DVC unit. Am I better off killing the waitlist for BCV and waitlisting a 1br at SSR also? There are 5 of us (2 adults, 15yo,12yo, & 4yo). I was thinking about booking one of the Disney hotels on points, but I didn't want to do that because of the non refundable $95.

Any suggestions?

So simply to give best odds for a room? Then yes, change the BCV to the SSR 1BR. Or else if wanting a better guarantee of a 2 BR then change the BCV to Kidani or OKW. And keep checking online for openings.

Ok I ended up wait listing a 1 bedroom at SSR. They have over 400 so I thought that was my best option.

Now I need to figure out a back up plan just in case neither of my waitlist.

I just did the waitlist last night. Yea I know you don't have to tell me lol

I'd just book someplace on cash if you want to guarantee a place although I think you're likely to get one of the SSR waitlists. If it's a Disney hotel on cash you have up until 5 days ahead of time to cancel. Other places offsite will likely have an even shorter cancellation window. Or there's the Swan/Dolphin too.

Kat's suggestion is precisely what I always recommend in your situation, Maciec. You don't want to be "homeless" just in case! :sunny:

Since it's only 1 night will they charge me right now or on arrival?

I'm pretty sure they have to have a 1 night deposit regardless of how short or long the stay is, so you would have to put down a deposit. But as Kat4 says, you should have up to 5 days in advance to cancel.

Why don't you just book the one OKW 1-bedroom that's available right now?

Thank you thank you thank you!!! I am so glad I just checked my email and saw your post. I got the 1 bedroom at OKW. Whew!
