You know, the ones that cost around $350 an hour with a minimum of 6 hours, you don't wait in lines. I'd like to read more into it. This is something I'd like to experience at least once in my life. If anyone has a link to an article that explains it, please post it here. Thanks.

Just FIY, last I read that a VIP tour does not guarantee you a boarding group to Rise of Resistance or Web Slingers. You still need to obtain a boarding group the old fashion way.

Personally I think with how much coin you are dropping you should be able to ride them at least once guaranteed.

edit: sounds like as of mid July you are allowed one entrance to each attraction but don’t get to skip the line.

I was told by our tour coordinator that they would both be included in our day if we liked (as long as we had park hopper tickets). It sounds like they will secure a boarding group for your party, but then you will still be at the mercy of the boarding group return queue when you arrive.

That's old info, the VIP tours now include admission to both RotR and Web Slingers. Although you do have to wait in the normal Boarding Group lines to ride them.

looks like you are right, they added it as a perk in mid July.

Thank you so much for the info!

I used to think the VIP tours seemed so cool, but I'm not sure I honestly would do one, even if I had 9 friends that would pitch in and split the cost. There doesn't seem to be anything exclusive to them. It would still add up to about $450/person for 7 hours plus a one day park ticket (on a weekend). For that price you could get like a three day ticket plus maybe a little left over to spend towards hotels. Based on some of the prices on off property hotels (but very close to Disney) for an extra ~$300 you probably could be at the parks for three days. That would be plenty of time to do everything in the parks. Maybe during no FastPass/MaxPass this tour would be hugely useful and result in a better park experience, but man, when MaxPass was around there were only a handful of rides I actually felt like I had to wait a "long" time (~30 minutes) for. Most felt pretty quick (but probably were 15 to 20 min wait)... I'm not sure "walk on" would honestly feel much faster.

Maybe if you only have one day you can hit the parks as an add on to a trip but otherwise I'm not sure it's worth it...

Universal on the other hand is worth it in my book (even though the lines often aren't very long). The extended backlot tour (2 to 2 and a half hours vs 45 minutes), nice sit down lunch, and reserved seats at shows (plus unlimited front of the line once the tour is over until the park closes) is worth the extra $250 or whatever.

I have done quite a few VIP tours, and have one coming up in Sept for my granddaughter's birthday. I like them because it means we can relax most of the trip, and spend one day where if the kids want to ride Incredicoaster multiple time they can do it.

A friend wrote an article about 10 years ago about it, while it isn't exactly accurate for rides or price, it does give an idea about the day.

When I was there a couple of weeks ago there were A LOT of VIP tours. More than I've ever noticed before! I wonder if folks want to avoid standing in line due to Covid? Well, I guess there's lots of reasons...

Update for anyone planning to book VIP: the rates seem to have gone up. Quoted $700/hour on both Monday, September 6th (Labor Day—understandable since it's a holiday) and the same rate for Friday September 10th (not a holiday, projected to be a low-crowd day). Maybe the double access to Web Slingers/RotR and increased interest without MaxPass is driving the normal price up?

What's worth it, or not, is completely subjective. While there's not much "tangible" exclusivity in and of the tour itself, the experience is still very exclusive for most people. On a normal trip, I don't have a cast member making a loose ride plan for the day, taking care of dining requests, special reserved seating when available (those seats they have for the Christmas parade and Main Street Electrical Parade were awesome), or nearly-front-of-the-line access for the majority of the rides. So, all those experiences are exclusive to me, since I wouldn't otherwise have access to them. Sure, I could make my own dining reservation, but would I get when/where I want? Maybe, maybe not lately! Would I get those primo parade seats, on benches, without crowding, when arriving less than 30 minutes before parade time? Nope! Would I be willing to pay good money to avoid general planning hassles like these? YES PLEASE!

Hubs and I have been daydreaming about it for some time, and plan to do VIP tour on our next big anniversary vacation... Saving for it already!

I won a VIP tour during the 60th anniversary celebration. It was amazing and I think it would be worth every penny. For us, one of the best parts was walking up to TSMM and getting on the ride in less than a minute (this was before it had FP). It was also kind fun having people look at us and try to figure out if we were famous. :rotfl2:

No, this has changed recently, there is a YouTube about this. You can do each of these rides once per day and they have a limit on how many tours can go through per hour, so you may be limited by that as to when you can go on each, but not by boarding group anymore.

I was just working off the vague impression the tour coordinator had given me, so that’s great news — it makes the timing of everything easier (other rides, dining reservations) if we and the tour guide can have a little more control over the entry time.

It is similar to Peter Pan and a few other options you will have. The tour guide will contact Websling/Rs and find a time that works for everyone, and same with Rise. Then you will ride during this time frame. When there were character interactions, your guide would contact, let's use the Frozen interaction, and secure a time that works for all, and then you would go to the location and get to go in.

For WebSling/rs, you will use what they have set up as a future possible FP line, not the current queue. Same for Rise.
