This isn't meant to sound like a "me too" or a brag about how much work I churn out.....but.....

My last project....was a killer. I was pulling in all sorts of overtime over a 6 week period and the company and I agreed on 3 weeks time off in lieu was a fair trade; which I took in September for my holiday. When I came back, I asked to be taken off that program.

The next phase of the project needed to continue.
So the job that I previously did? They have started to resource up all the activity that I did on the previous phase. There are 4 people!!!! :faint:

And they still haven't covered 2 of the other areas that I was also managing!!!

I have one more real full day on this program....tomorrow. And then come Friday, I get to pack up and move somewhere else. YIPPEE!!!!

Time will tell if I'm out of the frying pan and into the fire. :confused3

They want you on a new project? People just think everyone can do it all. Especially if they have never done the job. Where I used to work they would tell us how long each of our duties took to do and they never had done it. And if someone called in and you worked alone, there was no break, or can't even go to the restroom. :faint:

I would move to a new job around then too! That is so true about making one person do the work of 2 or 3. And I would not give an extra minute either Brandi. Since I am making about half what the prior Admin Assistant made I work the exact hours required. If I need to stay late one day I definitely leave early the next day.

After the fiasco last year when I stayed late most days and got laid off I realized that I was "enabling their behavior" by letting them think things could carry on and be successful without allocating overtime or extra help. Never again; what doesn't get done, sits there waiting!

Good luck with the current job situation; thinking about you often :worried:

Last

Kathy

I know that they could care less if I was here or not, they would not support me in any situation, BUT knowing that gives me the freedom to not really "care" about the job. I do it, I do a good job, but I really don't care.

Bummer Kathy and Brandi. I had the same problem when I used to work. They kept laying people off without replacing them. We would assume their responsibilities. They never allowed overtime and expected all work to be done. Then, they would come at us like, why are we so behind. It was crazy. I do not not miss that. Hope things get better for both of you.

Thanks I hope they get better too but I am not holding my breath.

That is why I am enjoying what I am doing now. It may not be the best, but no bosses.
That is wonderful, I so wish i could say that.

Here is some chocolate for job blues....

Thanks I needed that!

Don't you love it, that they finally figured out how much work you were doing... Hopefully they appreciate it.

I have found myself in the fire.

Wow! That is some bar of chocolate!

Thanks Brandi and Kim and Jo!

It's really not too bad if I don't let myself dwell on it. It could be worse believe me!

That's amazing Princess! I also try to remind myself that just because I'm a hard worker doesn't mean that this is what life is about! As they say, no one at the end says I wish I had spent more time at work!
