Dear Kathy,

Please excuse Janet for being lapse in reading your PTR. It's been crazy at work.

:rotfl2:

:woohoo: On the MNSSHP on November 1st! We went the last two years and loved it! The Boo To You parade is not to be missed ;). Might be less crowded than Halloween night anyway.

That's what I'm hoping!! Did you dress in costume, or just the kids??

Mine want us parental units to dress up too!!

Kathy

I don't remember White Shadows....
...but wasn't there a show called The White Shadow (with a basketball theme??)

Here, Heidi, just for you:

Kathy

You're not the only one.....I'm just glad I wasn't drinking diet coke at the time!

Halloween Pictures: 2008

Hedy has laughingly said she was thinking about her Halloween costume last month... we've also been giving our costumes some thought!

I know...... Crazy, right???

Anyway, Billy has been insisting that he wants to be a pirate. pirate:

That's great news for me, because he was a pirate last year and I still have the costume!!

See all the boxes piled up behind him?

That's because we were moving back into our house on October 31st!! Yup, on Halloween.

The contractor was working furiously to finish... we had to be out of the house we rented by the end of the month b/c new renters were coming in Nov. 1st!!

As is usual with those guys, they were working way past the estimated completion date. (He originally told me that we would be moved back in by the time the kids started school in September! HA!)

So, here we were, making trip after trip between houses and unloading box after box, all while trying to get the kids set up for trick-or-treating!

Fortunately, Tricia went off with two friends and their moms (I had to miss it :sad1:) She dressed as a Purple Witch. Her friends were also witches, Green and Orange.

Here she is trying to look very scary....

I like this better!

(Sorry about the red-eye...I tried to fix it, but then her eyeshadow comes out black, too, and it looks awful!!)

Here they are visiting Aunt Rae for trick-or-treat before Tricia headed out with her friends:

Billy wore his costume to school and I was so pleased that he actually would wear the hat!!

Normally, he is so difficult to plan a costume for..... he does not like hats, masks, or accessories of any kind. They had face-painting at school, so he came home with great pirate make-up on....

...that lasted all of about 10 minutes! It's smeared here in the pictures b/c he didn't like it and was trying to wipe it off!! :rotfl:

It's a real Halloween challenge!

Tricia and her cousin, Catie want to co-ordinate their costumes. They are still discussing them, but one thing's for sure.... They will not be going as princesses.... too "baby-ish!"

I told Tricia that I didn't think a princess costume was baby-ish, that perhaps I would go as a princess!!

Billy cut in and said in a loud voice,

No!! Mommy is a QUEEN!!!

Even my own son thinks I am getting old!! :lmao:

Kathy

Yes!!! EVERYONE MUST DRESS UP!!! :)

That is half the fun!

But...I would make this one suggestion...dress up comfortably...not too flashy or scratchy or hot or cold...

My costume last year was perfect for me...Cat in the Hat...because the hat was not too hot, the makeup was simple and the rest of the outfit was just a long sleeve black shirt (used a champion tech shirt so I would be more comfy) and plain black pants and black crocs! So I had comfy clothes and comfy shoes!

Lauren wore her tink outfit, but we had to take her back to the room to put a shirt on under the oufit because she was allergic to it.

Lauren's parents went as salt and pepper...cute, but a little corny, I guess. :) I thought they were cute. We made those costumes...very last minute.

William decided to go in his Taekwondo outfit...FREE and comfy!

I guess I am just saying...don't forget about walking around Disney all night...doing the rides, etc...and I would bring a change of clothes...just in case. :)

I am loving your pre-trippie! As soon as the Free Dining info comes out...I will hopefully be joining you in pre-trip land!! :)

Queens are so much better -- they have the real power ;)!

Billy and Tricia looked great in their costumes -- I can't wait to see what you think up for MNSSHP!

maroo: The more I think about it, the more I think that I do want to dress up for the party!! I'm definitely with you on the comfort issue; and Billy is very fussy about costumes, so his needs to be kept simple. :thumbsup2

Charleston Princess: Thank you! Unfortunately, we have lots and lots of time to think up some good costume ideas! :lmao:

** I think I'd really like us to try this while we're there!!

I am with you there...the link...

But I am little fearful of heights...:rolleyes1

Scott says he wants to try it in October, some other Ip Dippers want to try it too I think. Bill wants to know if it has any accessiblity. He really wants to do it. I would rather stay on the ground :lmao:.

I just sent an e-mail to the author of that blog entry. Hopefully, she can answer that question!! :thumbsup2

I don't think it would be worse (afraid-of-heights-wise) than being on one of those big ferris wheels, do you??

I was wondering why Billy wasn't smiling in any of the pictures that night, then I realized that every time I took a pic, he would say, "Arrrgh!", like any good pirate would!! :lmao:

See his left hand making a "hook" ?!

Kathy

The kids are getting big! I think everyone should dress up for MNSSHP! :snooty::upsidedow
I'm deciding between Giselle and Ariel, myself.

Love the old Halloween pics Kathy! My girls were witches this year too! For Disney, I debated back and forth about the grown-ups dressing up and finally decided on a group Halloween shirt (we called ourselves the Smashing Pumpkins since our shirts were orange) as I couldn't make the call for a "theme" to our costumes! But there are so many cute themes on here for groups. 101 Dalmations (Tricia might like the idea of being Cruella, the rest could be simple t-shirts with black dots all over, and puppy ears of course), Peter Pan (Billy would make a great Hook), just so many things out there! I really enjoyed seeing people dressed up as a theme! Too cute! :goodvibes

Love the costume pics. Too funny about Billy saying you are a Queen. At least Billy likes face paint, Thomas won't let any one paint his face. He didn't want to have a mustache when he was Hook last year. Kaylee wants to be a witch this year, she said she does not want to wear any Princess costumes :sad2:.

We loved MNSSHP!! The kids dressed up - Nemo & Leo (Little Einsteins). DH & I wore Halloween Disney shirts. But I see you guys as a theme kind of family!!

Oh, but he didn't love it, not one bit!!

:confused3 I don't know how they persuaded them to have his face painted at school; he was wiping it off as soon as he got home!!

I completely understand about Thomas!
