A great big pickle...sigh.

I had my thyroid checked. Apparently normal range is from 1.2 to 7.0 or something like that... mine was 1.7. I was SO hoping to find my thyroid slow enough to treat. :sad2:

I did Nutrisystem for awhile, and it was working, but my life just doesn't lend itself to that type of diet right now. It was very hard to cook dinner for the family, then sit and eat my diet meals. Both kids are active in scouting, and we have meetings twice a week, and camp at least once a month. It was just to much going on all the time, and I kept cheating... figured I was throwing my money away to purchase it.

I did Nutrisystem too. It worked and then they stopped shipping to Canada and that left us to buy from the Canadian site. Thing is, prices are a lot higher here and they don't even have half the selection that the US site has. Peeved me right off. I actually have four weeks of food left and am following the plan until we leave. I should be able to get down a size if I exercise my brains out. Bowflex, here I come, baby!

I gained weight when I quit smoking and then again when I went through radiation for my breast cancer...I think it was the depression during the treatments and I ate to compensate for the depression. And it is definitely true...the older you get the harder it is to lose weight.

Yep yep. I quit smoking cold turkey in December 2006. Bam! 25 pounds please. Then I had a nervous breakdown a year later and was on every anti- depressant, sleeping pill and other assortment of goodies known to man and piled on another 25. Still trying to find the right meds. :( I've gained and lost the same 25 pounds at least a dozen times since.

I don't know how I'm going to show myself in a bathing suit, but I'm gonna!! :scared1:

You keep reminding yourself that you couldn't care less what those people think... you'll never see them again anyway! I refuse to wear a blue bathing suit when we go to the beach. I look like a beached whale, and I'm afraid someone will come along and shove me back into the water! :rotfl:

HA! Mine is black. With my lily white, transparent skin, Seaworld would definitely consider me as Shamu's stand in. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

You're right. I'll never see these people again, so I don't care. Hubby can sit and stare at the itsy bitsy bikinis and I'll drink. :thumbsup2

Mine is black with huge red flowers. (The very best Wal-Mart had to offer!) It looks like a mumu from the 70s!

Good night, my chunky monkeys! Chat with you tomorrow!

I just read this whole thread--what wonderful stories from OP and wonderful fun you all have been having! OP, I just wanted to say definitely keep your dinner ressie for Boma. My eight year old is standing here telling me "tell her it is the BEST!!!" We love the soups! They are amazing! And it is fun to try unusual things you never heard of before plus old standards with an African twist. Also don't worry, I would say even the pickiest eater could find enough offerings to get plenty full. Also, after dinner, go out to the savannah lookout behind the pool and the guides are out there with night vision goggles that you can use to view the animals. Pretty cool way to end the evening! Have fun on your trip!

Oh my goodness. Do you ever deserve a cookie! :rotfl: We are a crazy bunch of coconuts, that's for sure. Laughing is perfect therapy. :hyper2:

Funny you should mention Boma. I was *just* going to scrap those reservations. Someone had mentioned that the food there is spicy and we are so not spicy people. Okay, that does not sound right, but ya'll get my point. Right?... right? I'm skeered to go now!! :sad2:

Good morning!!

Boy, did I miss some fun last night...NOT..talking about weight is one subject that gets me depressed....sigh...did I say back in Boston I walked 3 to 6 miles day and in the 3 yrs we've been here, nada? nothing, not one black?? NO SIDEWALKS!!!! What's wrong with these people??? I'm used to city, shops, a Mall within walking distance...funny, I'd walk to the mall and stop at the Italian bakery along the way. Yum...sigh..I miss the city.

Kathy, will you promise to bring me sweet rolls and long Johns when we meet at WDW???

HS renunions..ugh...besides the fact that I graduated so long ago I'd forgotten I'd gone to HS. Never attended one, never will...Don't think I'd know anyone anyway as my dad was in the military and I attended 11 schools in 12 yrs.

So, I'm thinking....since none of us drink that much, we could eat and drink our way around the World Showcase..the food will offset the sips of whatever we have along the way. :teeth:

TGIF, my friends!!!!!yay: :yay: :yay:

Good morning to all my chickadees! Won't even discuss my bathing suit...nope...not going there! Yes, Christine, I will bring you long johns and sweet rolls.

I'm thinking that I am going to spend Sunday (Father's Day) and go take a long walk somewhere. All the men in my house made plans and forgot that it was my first Father's Day without my dad (men!). So I think I'll take a walk and reflect and remember my dad and maybe stop at the local bar and have a drink in his honor....I can practice for our "drinking around the world."

Well ... this has turned into a cliche thread and my last few posts were ignored so I guess I'll unsubscribe. Have a great time at WDW, LuvvsMickey :thumbsup2. I enjoyed reading about your husband's family and your resort pickle.

That is SO COOL!!! I will have to keep that in mind for our next trip. I have been scared to try Boma, but that might sway me!

I'm sorry. I always make Fathers Day about my DH. My Daddy passed when I was 11, so for years I never celebrated it, and would have forgotten it completely if not for Hallmark commercials. Now we just go out to dinner with the kids, and they make him cards. I think you should go to a spa for a massage and mani/pedi in honor of your Dad! You're on your own anyway... might as well enjoy your time!

I didn't ignore you... just didn't agree with your post, and didn't want to argue the point. :flower3: I honestly didn't know you were lurking since you haven't posted in days, but you are always welcome to join in the conversation! I value everyone's opinions... keeps my wheels turning and helps me plan my next trip!

Aw. I miss having a baby. :( Have fun with her!
We will...the best part is we can have fun with her, spoil her and give her back!
Me too!!! Wine is the worst. One bottle and I'm everybody's best friend. :lmao:
One bottle for you, 2 glasses for me:rolleyes1
Night night all. I must sign off too. Got a big day tomorrow finalizing muh WDW trip. :cheer2:

I'm so sorry it feels that way. I felt bad when I read your post as I try not to skip a post. Went back to page 24 to find your last post and it was about tipping at Pepper Mkt - but I've only eaten there once so had nothing to contribute.

I know there's a lot of quick posts here and I get behind all the time. We're just having fun and don't think anyone would leave someone out intentionally.

Everyone is welcome! :goodvibes

Kathy, I was just going to email when I saw your post. Leave it to men not to remember. :sad2: Wish we lived closer so we could take a walk, share some memories and toast your dear dad. I will be thinking of you on Sunday.

Ditto! We didn't mean to exclude you.
