Yes off property! Remember, that is what I am used to! I've only stayed on property once and five of the eight days were spent in bed. Grrr. I get so mad just thinking about it.

I'm thinking of getting the dining plan for the Poly stay. We have easy access to some pretty expensive restaurants along the monorail and I'm thinking that the dining plan will cost us less than out of pocket. I need to calculate but too lazy. I don't feel like doing anything today. I'm still in my jammies!!

I wish I were in my jammies. I think your "depression" has swung over to me...I'm feeling very blah today!

YAY! Welcome back, Heather! I hope you had a wonderful trip.

Welcome back, Heather--we missed you. Want to hear all about your trip.

My depression is permanent. :( I'm sorry you are feeling blue, Kathy. It's not a nice feeling, I know. Wish I could cheer you up some how.

ok...I'm FINALLY caught up!!

Just make sure you can get the dining reservations you want before you spend the extra $$ for the dining plan and then can't get into any of the places you want.

Also for Mexico...the restaurant in the pavillion is romantic, but expensive. You might want to check out the Cantina there though....It is a counter service right along the water...Brian and I ate there on our trip in 2007...My in-laws offered to take the kids back to the room for the night so we could have a few hours to ourselves. Of course, we couldn't get into any table service places at the last min., so we walked over to the cantina. There was no one there...we sat along the water watching the lights sparkle in the lagoon, while sipping margaritas and eating tacos...very romantic and cheap! (well, cheap for Disney!)

Thanks!
It was a nice time, although we had the weirdest hotel room ever!

Oh definitely. I've priced out a few places and a couple of days are looking pretty expensive! :scared1: I've got to factor in the $160 for the park tickets too... grr that irks my tater! Narcoossee's could certainly set us back a few. Cantina sounds like a nice little spot to check out the scenery. That's right up our alley. :thumbsup2

Okay, now don't hurt me anyone... I never knew that you could eat in a restaurant inside the castle. Yup. It's true. I really think we need to do this girl's trip so ya'll can show me the ropes. Clearly I've missed out over the years... :rotfl2:

Have you been living under a rock? Did you know that you can eat with Pooh and Tigger and Eeyore and Piglet in the Magic Kingdom? And that you can eat with Minnie and Goofy and Donald Duck at another restaurant? That you can go parasailing?

Oh, yes, the Cantina! We used to watch IllumiNations from there - great spot, but you've got to grab a table hours early and then keep eating and drinking so the CM's won't give you the boot. We'd watch IllumiNations and my DS and Dgodson (pre-teens) would kill the masses of roaches! Doesn't matter which park -as soon as the lights go out for a parade or fireworks, out come the roaches. It's why you'll never find moi sitting on a curb or step while watching WISHES or IllumiNations.

Girls trip??? Geesh, hate to say I told ya so, but we all deserve a Girls Trip! :thumbsup2 Yes-sir-eee, mama.

Okay, girlfriend...first thing we need you to do is reserve a breakfast at one of these places (if you can get one):

Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom -- they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet come around and have pictures taken with you and sign autograps if you want; we've only done breakfast--but it is our FAVORITE

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort -- they serve breakfast and dinner and the characters are: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald

Ohana's at the POLYNESIAN -- breakfast with Minnie, Stitch, Lilo (and I think there are others)

1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian -- this is breakfast or dinner; breakfast is Tigger, Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter and others; dinner is the evil stepsisters and stepmother, etc.

Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club -- Minnie, Goofy & Donald Duck in their swimsuits

I'm feeling great!!

Soo, a weird hotel room??? Oooo...can't wait!
Yup....
We booked a spa package online...I reserved a Non-smoking room with a King bed. There was a special requests box, so I put "Anniversary Trip...Quiet location, please."

I went to check in, and the lady at the front desk says..."Oh It's your Anniversary! Let me see what we can do..." I got excited. Our room wasn't ready...she told us to come back in a few hrs.

We come back, get our keys and head to the room. It was a HUGE room... King Size bed, Sitting area with a Sofa and table and 2 chairs, huge closet/dressing area leading to a huge bathroom with a big shower.

We had 2 large picture windows, so we opened our shades to see the view...It was the lobby and casino:scared1: We were kinda disapionted, but the room was huge and the lady at the front desk seemed excited to give us a "nice" room, so I didn't have the heart to go down to the front desk and see if we could switch (that and the line was a mile long and we were exhausted) We took a nap, and then decided to take showers and get ready for dinner....at which point we discovered that we had an "accessible" room, and if you weren't in a wheelchair, you needed to be under 4'5" to use the shower. We each managed to get out showers and headed out to dinner. Came back from Dinner and watched TV for a bit. When we turned off the TV, we discovered that you could hear the lobby music and the Ding, ding ding from the casino...all night long.

Hopefully we'll have a little better luck in Disney.

ITA with those...If you can't get into any of those, try Garden Grill at Epcot..they have Chip, Dale and Mickey...it is usually pretty easy to get into since it doean't have as many characters. Just be aware that it is a revolving restaurant, so if you have motion issues, it might not be a good choice.

We have always liked Kona Cafe in the Polynesian
and 50's Prime Time cafe in the Studios too.

Oooh a casino and spa package. Nice! I'm glad you were able to get away and have some down time.

A revolving restaurant? I've really been under a rock. LOL I guess I was all about the rides as a kid. :p

I'm working on my spreadsheet right now! I want to eat with Mickey!! :woohoo:

Cockroaches!!!:scared1: Fortunately, I've never noticed them, and I'm not gonna start looking now!!!

Next you're gonna tell me there are snakes in FL LALALALALALLALALLALALa

We do deserve a girls trip! I was thinking about that as I was walking thru the casino this weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't win a dime.

I'm not really casino person, but I enjoyed getting a massage and sitting by the pool sipping a fruity drink.:cloud9:

Garden Grill is in the Land at Epcot...It revolves around, and you can see various scenes from the ride. Food is so-so, but it is a pretty easy character meal to get into.

Well...you will know all there is to know about Disney restaurants soon, I think.

Wow...that 'view' sure was a surprise!! Yes, hopefully you'll have a better view at WL - what view have you booked?

Okay...my turn...what does ITA stand for, please? Brain is frozen..and I know I'll feel dumb when I hear it...it'll be one of those "duh" moments.;)

We've eaten at the Garden Grille a few times - waaay back in the very early days of EPCOT and just last summer. It revolves so slowly that if you didn't know, you might not even notice. Food was okay - characters were dressed as farmers and made the rounds (no pun intended lol) a few times.

I was very surprised at how much I/we enjoyed Ohana (at the Poly) for breakfast last summer. The characters were not at all annoying and the food was delicious! We had a table with a clear castle view - talk about magical! Maybe I said this before, but had my first Mimosa and it was yummy! Must have been a table for 2 b/c we were 2 adults and a toddler.

Gee, didn't realize you had no idea about some of the character breakfasts, Tracy! So much fun!! Lots of options!

Last time we ate in the Castle was, oh, um...1984/5? Wow, long time ago! We had Thanksgiving Dinner that year - it was our second and last time - everyone enjoyed it...I mean., we were eating in the Castle - so cool! We did not do it again due to cost an the thrill factor had passed after twice. But we really enjoyed it!

I needed to de-stress. So I just had a nice shower with my Lush products. I lub Lush. That is one of my luxuries that I spend money on for myself. (Lush.com) I used my Seanik shampoo bar, Rub Rub Rub shower scrub, 17 Cherry Tree Lane soap and then my Heavanilli massage bar. Mmmmmmm, I smell goooooooood. :cloud9: I better sleep tonight!!

These ressies are driving me mad!! :upsidedow
