These pictures are killing me!! I just called GF and they are assuring me the pool will be open in March. They said the exact date in March will be out soon. Is this believable or not. I am going March 14th to 21st.

If they wanted it to be done, and the contractor had the time, yep March is believable. In a couple week is believable even.

The biggest job I see from the pics is the rebaring and pouring/smoothing of concrete. Really I don't see why they couldn't have multiple teams working on multiple items at the same time. Guess we will see!

Does anyone know if the slide at the other pool is still scheduled for a refurb the first week of march? We leave for the Floridian february 26th and are there til the 4th....we are bringing friends with their two girls who have never been, and they will be so bummed if the courtyard pool and the slide are both closed during our week there....

Are we able to use the poly pool while this whole thing is going on?

The Beach Pool Slide is still officially listed as closed from 2/24 - 3/8.

Normally I think guests can use either pool (Poly or GF) during refurbs but the Poly pool will be closed at some point during that time. There are, of course, conflicting reports on exact dates and if the whole pool will be closed or just the slide.

Have a great trip !!!! If you don't mind posting some pics of the courtyard pool or the DVC, I would really appreciate it. It would be great to see the "progress". We're going to be at the Grand in June, and I'm SO excited to go back "home"!!!!

What is crazy about that pool was back at Halloween I took pics of the rebar already installed for the pour. I'm betting something got redesigned or a change was made.

I may be wrong, but I think I remember a DIS member posting live updates from GF and stated they talked to a CM who said they forgot about the underwater pool lights and had to back track on their progress.

When we were there the last week in November they told me at the desk when I asked that they forgot some of the lighting in the pool so I guess maybe that was the problem

sorry if this was asked before but are the coffee makers in GF single serve and if so do they use that horrible coffee for that as well? Are there any single serve we can buy on our own and bring that will work with their machine?

You were right dansdad it was me that posted about the pool lights when we were there that is what a cast member told us at check in!!!!!!!!

I wonder in what manner the lights were forgotten. Hard to imagine an architect or pool designer would forget them. I wonder if someone forgot to place an order??? Or if the CM had accurate info in the first place?

Anyway, hope it is ready for those of you going in the Spring.

They have a kids area that is off to the side and a fridge.
