Hi, I just got a quote from AAA of $167.50/night for WL from 1/1/04-1/5/05. Does this sound like a good price? Also, does anyone know whether or not I would be able to switch to a better rate (I'm hoping for AP rate) if one should come along without a penalty? This would be for room only, I only need to leave a deposit of one night's rate.
Thanks in advance for any advice! :p

Sounds like a good rate but also a standard view room rate - if your idea of standard is a roof or parking lot, then you will not be unpleasantly surprised. The good news is that the rate for that view is consistently $199, so that's a big savings - about enough to cover the 17.5% tax on the room rate (11% resort tax and 6.5% FLA state). You may be able to upgrade to woods or pool view affordably and be happier.

I have a $169/night at WL, standard view for 1/9-1/14, with AAA discount. Your price is close. I do know in the past with room codes (we stayed in August) it was $129/night. Here's hoping for room only codes!

You may want to check out the DVC rent board. This would give you a studio (a little larger than regular room) complete with ref., microwave, toaster and coffee maker. It rents for about $120 a night and there is no tax for that time of year. Two things to keep in mind, generally it is not cancellable and there is not daily maid service.

The up side, you stand to save over $200.

I know this is a stupid question, but what are the room codes? How do you get them and how do you use them? We're staying at WL from 9/1 to 9/7 for a high-ish $207/night for woods view. We could sure use a discount. Is it too late for us?

We stayed at WL last august the 3rd - 12th and got a rate of $109.00 a nite. We had our choice of WL or AKL. Attendance must of greatly improved since last year this time. Beautiful resort.:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Thanks everyone for all the good info!

Wow! You're staying for a year?!? ;) :p

would be $140.00 to $150.00 per night. And I must say the WL is worth every penny!!! If I find out any info on special rates I will pass it on.:sunny:

It sounds great to me. We've got the FTP for late October and I needed to add one night at the start with Room Only. The best I could do for 10/24 was a DC discount and it's $254 for that one night (Woods View). How can I do better? Any help is appreciated. I'm working with DU and they said that's as good as they can get.

Dang! I Wish!!!! I'd definately have to find a better rate tho! LOL!!! :p

A strange thing is that I contacted Small World Travel Adventures (that Mary from Mousesavers recommends) a few days ago about a quote for these days and they just got back to me today with a rate of 207.56/day with a AAA discount  What do you think the discrepancy might be? Even after I factor tax into my original quote from AAA there is a 20 some-odd dollar difference.

Michelina - Just for comparison - I booked WL today through CRO for three nights beginning January 1st, 2004. We were quoted $188.60 per night including taxes ($566.00 for 3 nights) with a AAA discount for a standard view. Could the difference you're seeing be standard view vs. woods view vs. courtyard view? The woods view is about $20 per night more than the standard view (rack rate in value season of $219 per night vs $199 per night before taxes).

Just a thought.
