I entered World Showcase for the first time during Food and Wine festival. My first stop was, suitably enough, at the Mouse Trap for cheese. The cheese was quite good.
*
I then entered Mexico, hoping to check out the Cava (for those of you who don't know, part of my junior year of college was spent in Oaxaca, Mexico. As a result, I'm kind of prissy about Mexican food and drink. Oh, and those alebrijes that they sell at the entrance to the pavilion? I used to pass by them being sold on the street for a fraction of what it costs in the USA). Holy avocado margarita! The line to get into the Cava, which didn't open for another half hour, was almost out the door. I headed out of there, and stopped at the Indian kiosk-the pancake was really good.
I stopped in Norway. The line was short enough that I was able to go on Maelstrom. I wasn't able to go on it in '07 or '08, and I really like it. In addition to it just being fun, my dad loved it, so weird as it sounds I kind of feel close to my dad on it. I got out, and paused to breathe in the scent of Laila (note-you can get a Laila perfume +lotion samples for $2 on Laila.com. Silly as it sounds, I sniff mine sometimes to bring me to Epcot in my mind). I also noticed some Baekgaard accessories. I later saw then at Tren-D later that week. I'm probably being foolishly optimistic, but maybe this means Disney is looking to work with Vera Bradley again*. I headed onto China. Remember when I was calculating my overtime in drinks? I had a frozen plum wine calling my name in China. It was yummy.
In Germany, I popped briefly into the stores-I debated getting an Oktoberfest gingerbread, but decided to hold off. I also took a quick glanc around at the candy-I wanted to pick something up for my German/UK native coworker. I then headed off to Italy.
*The nailpolish in this shot is China Glaze's Atlantis, which I got free as a BOGO at Sally's right before I left. I though it looked really Ariel-y. I also did the Mickeys on my thumbnails.
