A Girl Just Put on Deodorant in my Classroom

This is more shocking to me than the deodorant issue. :confused3 Why do I always assume all the posters on the Dis are women?? :confused3

I actually thought the poster was a man and a woman...as in sharing the same i.d. on the dis boards.

I am all turned around. DisneyJunkie, thought she was from New York and moved to GA so her son could be "safer" or am I thinking of someone else? I could be having a 'blonde moment even though I just dyed my hair darker then what I thought it would be:rotfl2:

Well if she hasn't applied it in 27 years she must really stink! ;)

You are dissing in the classroom?

She is dissing from the classroom in anticipation and preparation for when she graduates and gets a real job and goes out into the real world and begins to dis from her job/office.

:confused3 I thought we were talking about a male teacher, who already has a job?

I thought we were talking about the long term effects of using aerosol deodorant in the classroom in front of your internet message board addicted, transgender teacher... with tenure.:confused3

Clarification of a few items:
BTW, it's lunch and I'm allowed, even on a school computer.

I must take attendance at 8, on the computer, on the internet, in my room. That I took an extra 30 seconds and posted on the DIS was wrong of me. I was just shocked and there weren't any adults handy to express my disbelief.

I'm a guy.

Sorry, I assume everyone here is a woman if I'm not familiar with their posts.

That would be correct. We are not permitted to have our cell phones in our hands or in our pockets. I cannot make any personal phone calls on the company phones as they are strictly monitored...the only way to get an outside line is through personnel and they ask who we are calling and what the business purpose is.

There is ZERO internet access in our location...a department store. We are there to take care of our customers, not our personal lives. Food and drink is not permitted on the sales floor, only in our break room and as long as we have clocked out for our lunch or dinner break.

When we clock in we must do our work. ANY personal business must be taken care of after we clock out for the day.

I can picture it now a customer comes in looking for a red dress for an upcoming event and asks for your help. You go about your work, finding her many options to choose from. She asks for your opinion on which you would wear and your response would be "I'm sorry I'm not allowed to answer that until I punch out a 5:00, thats personal business and it is in no way permitted here while I work. I can give you only facts about your garment, but under no circumstances may I give you any of my personal opinions. If you would like me to share that with you, meet me in the parking lot at 5:15" Of course the woman thinks your a psycho and decides her pretty red dress is not worth what could happen in that parking lot. She puts the dresses on the counter and quickly hightails it out of the store and you lose the sale. Looking back, its really too bad your store has such a stringent no personal business on company time policy, they could have had a $100 sale and you could have gotten your 5% commission.

Joking aside, I don't buy it when someone claims they have never done anything personal on business time.

WAIT!!! There is another poster on the boards by the name disneyjunkie!!!

I think some people have the two confused!

So you're saying that you take care of personal things, like eating, during your lunch break, right? Since we don't get a lunch break, we have at least 30 minutes of guaranteed unencumbered time every day. During that time, I get to choose what I do. I can sit here and paint my fingernails if I want. Some of our teachers have their break at 8:00am, some have them later in the day.

Disclaimer: I'm posting from my classroom right now, but my students are in art class. :)

Wow, all this time I thought you were a woman.:rotfl:

You're talking about Robin.

WAIT!!! There is another poster on the boards by the name disneyjunkie!!!

I think some people have the two confused!
ME,ME, ME:banana::banana:

disney junky=man from PA/disney junkie=woman from NY (at least she used to be)

I still live in NY!!! :thumbsup2

You're talking about Robin.

Oh Mercy, I am all turned around more. Isn't there another Disneyjunkie, junkey-Robin who used to live in New York but lives in GA for some time now? Or have I just lost it and gotten confused with someone else?

As far as I know, there are two Disneyjunkies on the DIS.

Robin grew up in Brooklyn, but she and her son moved to GA years ago. (but she's still a Brooklyn girl at heart)

Grew up in Brooklyn. Attended college and lived in NC for several years. Moved backed to Brooklyn about 11 years ago. I also have a son.

Oh wait, there is another Robin, but she has a daughter. I think she is from WI.

Ok, that is who I thought the OP was at first.

Ok, this one is RobinR I think.

Thanks, cause I thought I was losing it for a minute. I am obviously not that observant, but now I know who is who.

:confused3 I thought we were talking about a male teacher, who already has a job?

Oh now see I missed allllll that. Obviously then they have already graduated and are now putting dissing into practice while at work/office. :happytv:

This is so confusing!!

Do you step over dead bodies every day too, or do the similarities end there??

I can assure you if I walked into a board meeting and whipped out my deodorant and started applying it, it would be big deal. Shouldn't we be teaching our high schoolers how to act in the larger world?

:lmao:

I think the student will be just fine by the time she reaches the board room. You should see the gross things teenagers do in the classroom (in my days), but I do know some who work at major corporations and I doubt they do that anymore. If they do...well then they must be tolerant to these acts.

I still don't see what all the stink is about. :lmao:

If I was the teacher (whether male or female), I would go over to her and tell her that this is not the place to be doing that.

I would have just ignored it. Why give her more attention?
