A food product that was popular when

I was going to say Bugles but when I looked them up, apparently they are still around. I haven't seen them advertised in many years.

Fizzies, Bonomo Turkish Taffy, Sugar Mama/Daddy/Babies (Sugar Mama and Daddy were great for pulling out loose baby teeth, lol.) These disappeared from regular stores but I see you can get them all on-line.

you were a kid but you dont see it anymore ?

Space Food Sticks

Still available online

Cream of whatever soup. Spam. Bologna.

I think someone misunderstood the question.

Do they still make candy cigarettes and cigar bubble gum?

Both are available online.

Ding Dongs

Pop Rocks

Both are still available in stores and online.

Drake's Coffee Cakes :sad1:

Still available in stores (Northeast US)

As for me, I miss Quaker Quisp and Quake cereals. Quisp is available on Amazon for stupid amounts of money, but Quake seems to be totally gone.

Yep. You can get them at candy stores in malls. Even labeled as cigarettes.

Ding Dongs

Pop Rocks

You can get both pretty much anywhere here.

Steak-ums

I think they still make them, but I doubt they're very popular anymore.

Yes they still make them. In the freezer section next to the frozen burgers.

Tang

Swanson fried chicken, frozen in a box

I can still get Tang in any grocery store. :) Love that stuff.

I'm personally still angry about at least half of this list.:rotfl:

Not included in that list and something I search for online probably twice a year are those Lifesaver Holes! I LOVED THEM!!!

Mug O Lunch by Betty Crocker

It was sort of like a cup a soup. There were 3 types. Mac n cheese, spaghetti, and some sort of chicken noodle.

You just poured your packages into a mug and added water. The Mac n cheese was my favourite.

They're Not exactly gone, just sort of evolved. Thinking of Kraft Easy Mac and all the different kinds of ramen available now.

One thing I haven't seen for a long time is canned meat spread for sandwiches (like Underwood Devilled Ham but different brands and varieties used to be available here in Canada). Also in the early years out on my own my cooking relied way more heavily on processed and prepared stuff - Chicken Tonight sauces and Bag 'n Season meal kits were my big favourites.

Wacky Wafers - the banana and watermelon ones were the best!

Marathon Bar

The way Reese's Peanut Butter cups tasted in my youth. Or they just tasted better then because I wasn't worried about my hip size when I was young! :)

Not sure if this is still sold, but what about the peanut butter and jelly sold together in the same jar.

Howard Johnson's Ice Cream used to be available at the grocer's. I loved their pistachio flavor. They had other frozen items. I loved their croquettes. And something called Toasties or like that. It was a frozen, cooked corn meal item in the shape of a Pop Tart. You put it in the toaster and out came a hot, toasted corn meal muffin-tasting food. It was delish with butter.

In the early '60s my grandparents bought us a milk shake maker. It was a tall cup with a lid and it looked like a rocket ship. You added a powdered flavor packet, milk and ice and shook it for your own personal milk shake. They always gave us stuff mom would never buy for us.

I loved the Toasties in the corn and blueberry flavor. Muffins you cooked in the toaster :thumbsup2 !

I can't seem to find frozen chicken croquettes anymore. I think they were a Weaver product.

.

No. For me it's gone. I loved it. Nothing can replicate that cheesy-glue I loved from the 70's that made me ill if I ate too much of it. :rotfl2:

RIP Mug O Lunch.

I remember the ice cream flavor called White House when I was a kid in the 70s. Has anybody seen that lately?

My favorites were those little boxes of Nabisco Chocolate Snaps. (they made a little bear out of the cookie on the box) I always had a box with me on every school trip. Why didn't they make them in large boxes???? I also loved the fudgetowns and gauchos... my grandma always had them for us.... Packed in those little sleeves....YUM!

Yes! Loved those chocolate snaps!
Fudgetown, too!
