A few Questions on MagicBands

As that indicates “not the turnstiles”. You go to the ticket booths in the center plaza. They will even print out one for a magic key holder for $20.
LKing was asking on recency because we've had people here in recent months say they tried this and the ticket booths wouldn't do it. I think the last person who said they were able to get paper tickets said they did so at Guest Services.

We used magic bands for the first time at DL in February, and as the person who previously had to take out her phone and swipe each LL and ticket, I really appreciated how easy it was. We knew we could use them again for future trips and on DCL, so it made sense to us to buy them.

My 2 cents is if you know you’ll buy them for WDW in the future, you might as well buy them now for your DL trip. If you get them at the resort it could take some time to set up/charge/update software so just be prepared for that.

I do have 5 kids and 4 of them do not have phones. There might be some rides that the middles do together (10-15 in age) that parents sit out. So I'm trying to find best solution.
In that case, I think MagicBands might work. Quick clarification questions that are designed to help with your plan. You mentioned kids in the 10-15 year old range doing rides that the parents/adults would sit out. Would the 10-15 year olds be off on their own exploring the park or would they be with you, just not riding with you? Is the plan to have the 10-15 year olds go through the queue and ride while the adults wait nearby? While the kids can scan into the rides, there needs to be someone with a phone reserving a time for them to ride.

More important than the band, when you're traveling in a group the most important thing is to make sure that every adult is using their own My Disney Experience account with everyone linked to everyone else via friends and family. It gets icky when one person tries to manage everyone else's profile using the "Managed By..." feature, unless they're children.
Traveling to DLR for the first time and it will be me, DS23, and DD20. I have the DL app and I can see our GCH reservations, our theme park reservations, and it says we have 5 day PH and LLMP. Should they each download and make their own DL app account? Then we link somehow? For our previous trips to WDW, we all shared one MDE account and were just logged into the app at the same time to get LL.
Likely, DS23 will just do all of the rides for us on his phone.
We plan on purchasing MB+ at GCH or DD on our arrival day, and hitting the parks the next morning. I know we will miss being able to charge everything to our room! Can we use Apple Pay from our phones? Can I put Disney GCs in the Apple Wallet? Are there any physical cards that we will need to carry? Any reason to bring cash?
TIA

Sorry I should have explained - the 15yo has a phone and they would stay together so he could book LL's if needed.

I'm trying to avoid buying magic bands actually. The cost adds up when you multiply x7!

Remind me how much do they run?

The guest services outside between the two park gates should be able to get you those small paper cards.
Thank you! Maybe I can stop there the evening of our check in day and ask for them. Or does it need to be our first park day?

Yeah I would make sure each adult has their own Disney account. Your WDW My Disney Experience account and your Disneyland account (and your Disney+ account and your Disney Cruise Line account and any other account you have with the Walt Disney Company) are all linked. Then you add each other as Friends & Family, which works like a Facebook friend request where you'll still be able to make and manage reservations as a group, but you'll each be able to do it under your own account.
The Family & Friends List feature does not exist at Disneyland and can't be used there.

The most common replacements:

1) Create a single account, scan all of the tickets into it, and sign into it on each phone.
2) Have everyone create their own account and scan the relevant tickets into it.

If you want to use Gift Cards, bring the physical cards.
Your post is referring to WDW, not Disneyland. The two parks have different apps and different operating systems.

I am local to Disneyland and visit regularly. I have my spouse, adult children, and extended family linked to my account in the Disneyland app. And they have me on their apps. When we go to the parks together it makes it easier for all of us to have the option to book LL, VQ, etc. I find it helpful that everyone can work on modifying LL return times for the group instead of everyone trying to do it individually. When scheduling VQ/LL, I only have the option to select people who have reservations or who have scanned into the park that day. Guest services has never had an issue fixing anything on any of our accounts, even if we pulled it up on someone else's app.

I just returned from a trip to WDW. I downloaded the WDW/MDE app and, when I logged in and entered my ticket information, my spouse was not on my WDW/MDE account (nor were my children or extended family). While my username and pw are the same across all of my Disney accounts, the different apps do not communicate with each other. It was actually a bit convoluted to add my spouse as when I entered their info, the app tried to pull from a Disney account (Disney+???) that didn't have the ticket associated with it. Fortunately, the different accounts had different userpics which is how we caught the problem.

Regarding physical tickets,

Plan Disney #1
Unfortunately, I have been informed by a Cast Member that the Disneyland Resort no longer issues physical Theme Park Tickets to Guests at the main gates. Regarding the Key to the World Cards, these cards are only available at Walt Disney World Resort. I apologize if this is not the news you were expecting.

Plan Disney #2
Another option for a physical ticket, that I confirmed with a Cast Member, is to purchase your theme park tickets in person at the Disneyland Resort ticket booth on the Esplanade. However, you should know that you will not be able to receive physical tickets at the ticket booth if you have already purchased your tickets. This option is also risky if you're planning to visit the parks that day, as park reservations are required for entry, and there may not be availability.

Plan Disney #3
If you prefer a physical card, you can always print off your eTicket or a screenshot of your digital ticket in the app to create your own ticket. I have seen other Guests do this and place it in a plastic ID holder and wear it on a lanyard.

Regarding gift cards, I keep my Disney gift cards stored digitally in my Google Wallet.

They run $40-$50 a piece. They are not a necessity. I would screen shot all of the tickets to make it easy to pull them up quickly. At Disneyland, to enter a LL attraction, you can either tap the circle with your MB+ or pull up the ticket on your phone and insert your phone into the bar code reader below the tap circle. With MB, each child can tap in themselves. With the tickets on a phone, the person with the phone needs to scan one ticket, pull up the next ticket, scan that ticket, pull up the next ticket, etc. That is why having them screen shot right next to each other makes things easier.

One MagicBand helps with ride photos and makes Photopass easier. Not essential for everyone, but useful.

No issue if just one person has a band.

No free MagicBands at Disney World anymore. DL bands should work, but check to be sure.

More designs in the parks, so waiting might be worth it.

Apple Watch works just like a MagicBand for everything.

At Disneyland, MB does not help with ride photos. When you exit an attraction, there will be a board with several ride photos on it. Each photo has a code on top. Take a picture of the photo(s) that your party is in and enter those codes into the Disneyland app (Photo Gallery -> Link Photos ->Enter Attraction ID). Your photo will show up in your Photo Gallery.

Not at Disneyland.

Plan Disney
Although Guests may access their theme park tickets via Apple Watch using the Disney MagicMobile service at Disney World in Orlando, unfortunately, this service is not available at Disneyland Resort, currently. I'm sorry if this is not the news you were hoping! The good news is, you can access your tickets and so much more via the Disneyland app.

Plan Disney
Unfortunately, Disney MagicMobile is currently unavailable at the Disneyland Resort.

This thread is the other way around - using MB+ at Disneyland.
