Ya, they would be the newer versions.Yes, as lont as ther are MagicBand+ - an original MB or 2.0 version will not work at DLR at all.

I want to reiterate what LKing said because I've seen multiple references to MDE in this thread. The MDE app does not work at Disneyland. You need to download the Disneyland app:My Disney Experience (MDE) is what is used at WDW. Disneyland doesn't refer to their app as MDE.
When was the last time you checked? The guest services outside between the two park gates should be able to get you those small paper cards.
As that indicates “not the turnstiles”. You go to the ticket booths in the center plaza. They will even print out one for a magic key holder for $20.When was the last time you checked?

LKing was asking on recency because we've had people here in recent months say they tried this and the ticket booths wouldn't do it. I think the last person who said they were able to get paper tickets said they did so at Guest Services. As that indicates “not the turnstiles”. You go to the ticket booths in the center plaza. In that case, I think MagicBands might work. Quick clarification questions that are designed to help with your plan. You mentioned kids in the 10-15 year old range doing rides that the parents/adults would sit out. Would the 10-15 year olds be off on their own exploring the park or would they be with you, just not riding with you? Is the plan to have the 10-15 year olds go through the queue and ride while the adults wait nearby? While the kids can scan into the rides, there needs to be someone with a phone reserving a time for them to ride.I do have 5 kids and 4 of them do not have phones. There might be some rides that the middles do together (10-15 in age) that parents sit out. So I'm trying to find best solution.
Traveling to DLR for the first time and it will be me, DS23, and DD20. I have the DL app and I can see our GCH reservations, our theme park reservations, and it says we have 5 day PH and LLMP. Should they each download and make their own DL app account? Then we link somehow? For our previous trips to WDW, we all shared one MDE account and were just logged into the app at the same time to get LL.More important than the band, when you're traveling in a group the most important thing is to make sure that every adult is using their own My Disney Experience account with everyone linked to everyone else via friends and family. It gets icky when one person tries to manage everyone else's profile using the "Managed By..." feature, unless they're children.
Sorry I should have explained - the 15yo has a phone and they would stay together so he could book LL's if needed. In that case, I think MagicBands might work. Thank you! Maybe I can stop there the evening of our check in day and ask for them. Or does it need to be our first park day?The guest services outside between the two park gates should be able to get you those small paper cards.
The Family & Friends List feature does not exist at Disneyland and can't be used there.Yeah I would make sure each adult has their own Disney account. Your WDW My Disney Experience account and your Disneyland account (and your Disney+ account and your Disney Cruise Line account and any other account you have with the Walt Disney Company) are all linked. Then you add each other as Friends & Family, which works like a Facebook friend request where you'll still be able to make and manage reservations as a group, but you'll each be able to do it under your own account.

Your post is referring to WDW, not Disneyland. The two parks have different apps and different operating systems. If you want to use Gift Cards, bring the physical cards.
They run $40-$50 a piece. They are not a necessity. I would screen shot all of the tickets to make it easy to pull them up quickly. At Disneyland, to enter a LL attraction, you can either tap the circle with your MB+ or pull up the ticket on your phone and insert your phone into the bar code reader below the tap circle. With MB, each child can tap in themselves. With the tickets on a phone, the person with the phone needs to scan one ticket, pull up the next ticket, scan that ticket, pull up the next ticket, etc. That is why having them screen shot right next to each other makes things easier.I'm trying to avoid buying magic bands actually. The cost adds up when you multiply x7!
Remind me how much do they run?
One MagicBand helps with ride photos and makes Photopass easier. Not essential for everyone, but useful.
Not at Disneyland.Apple Watch works just like a MagicBand for everything.
This thread is the other way around - using MB+ at Disneyland. One MagicBand helps with ride photos and makes Photopass easier. Not essential for everyone, but useful.
No issue if just one person has a band.
No free MagicBands at Disney World anymore. DL bands should work, but check to be sure.
More designs in the parks, so waiting might be worth it.
