Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend 2026

It is not the same anxiety as genera registration but I’m getting impatient

I'm hoping to register for the DL race weekend, which will be my first race weekend on the west coast. We usually stay off property, since so many hotels are close within walking distance. Do people do this for race weekends? Do the off-property hotels have race transportation? I'm not sure I want to be walking to the parks at three in the morning if they don't. Do most runners just stay onsite? Appreciate any feedback.

DL is totally different and many many people stay off site. Everything is in walking distance. Lots of folks out walking so it's totally safe.

Just saw the update. I guess that means it will be terribly hard to get into DL half weekend this year, since everyone who was just thinking about it is now, “I’m definite!”

No transportation, IIRC. Are you concerned about safety walking that early? If it eases any of your concerns, since basically everyone else is in the same boat as you, there are lots of other people around at that time and streetlights are on. My sister and I walked by ourselves for the 5k and 10k, respectively, and didn't feel afraid. We stayed at the Desert Palms and had no issues walking to any of the races.

Agreed. Anyone going for 2026 Coast to Coast will ONLY have that option for the companion race.

Well now I'm worried about signup, yikes. Not entirely surprised given how much will be happening over there but that's going to be nervewracking.

Admittedly last time wasn’t just construction but DL having a spat with Anaheim. So there was more than just construction going on. So its going to depend on the construction timeline.

Yeah, this is me. I did the 10k this year and was on the fence about registering for next year, but when I saw the update, I'm like "well, I gotta sign up for the next one now!"

We already have the Avengers Campus expansion happening and in progress but worth noting that there's a LOT that has been announced but it doesn't seem like we have any clue where it's going to go, namely Coco, Avatar, and DL Forward (assuming it's still moving... forward?).

It started out as construction, though, until Anaheim canceled the permit. Hopefully the local government stays friendly.

I'm traveling to this race weekend solo (also a first!) and am nervous about being out and about at wee hours of the morning, especially outside of the Disney bubble. I'll relax. I walked to the 5k solo this year from offsite (disney way area hotels) and never felt unsafe. I was a little worried too, but there were other runners out and about.

Now I wonder if this was the cause of the delay in officially announcing this weekend. Thought it was just a matter of hammering out a weekend that would be agreeable to both the park and RD, but what if it's because there was some concern that they wouldn't be able to hold it at all?

My guess is they went to put up the Club links and someone said "oh hey, weren't we supposed to announce this other thing first?"

And yes, I suspect there was discussion of construction timeline and possibly canceling altogether. But now they can finish out the 2026 rD season and make a clean stop.
