A few questions about Old Key West

We are planning a trip at the beginning of June. There are 7 adults going and we have reserved 1 Two Bedroom Suite and 1 One Bedroom Suite. We are planning on using our own transporation instead of the buses. I am trying to figure out what buildings (or rooms) we should request. We would like to be close to parking or to valet parking. Is it possible for us to get the two rooms in the same building? I have not found any information what types of rooms make up a typical building.

I also read that it may be better to stay in a phase 2 or 3 building because the access from the living room to the bathroom is better in the One Bedroom.

Anyway - any information or links that you link might be helpful would be greatly appreciated.

Parking at OKW is right in front of whichever unit you are staying at--so no ned to worry about that aspect of things. And they do have 1-2 bedroom units in each building, so it's possible to get accomodations near and/or next to each other.
Can't comment about the Phase 2-3 thing, except to say we've stayed in Phase 1 units before, and bathroom access was not any sort of problem.

You will be able to get a lot of information on the DVC, disney vacation club board. OKW is our home resort. These are very spacious accomodations. As mentioned the parking is right in front of your unit. No valet tipping, etc.
For the units, the ones, I believe, in buildings number over 30 has the access to the bathroom in a one bedroom thru the laundry room as well as the master bedroom. The ones less than that only have one entrance thru the master bedroom. Maybe someone will be able to tell the exact number of the buildings.
Our favorite area is in the turtle pond area since there is a quiet pool and a snack bar, as well as barbeques, picnic tables and a playground for the kids.
Not sure if you are going thru Disney for the rental or if you are renting points from a member. You can save alot of money by renting points. You can check out the rent and trading board in the DVC area of this website.
Enjoy

I have stayed at OKW many times (DVC) and I have never had a room under 30 so I can't say what the phase 1 ones are like. I do know that Building 35 was one of the nicest entry ways and quite rooms I have ever had. But I have never had a bad room there yet. Enjoy your stay:D

As a previous poster mentioned, you can park right in front of your vacation home however, OKW does not have Valet Parking.

We stayed in building 29 one year in a 2bdrm vacation home and it did not have access to the bathroom through the laundry room - only through the Master bdrm so I think it is correct that buildings #30 or higher are the ones with the access through both the laundry and Master bdrms.

Have a great stay - you'll love it!

We were in building 13 last time and it didn't bother me at all that there was no entrance to the master bath from the laundry room. Actually I prefer it that way because nobody can barge in! LOL ;) It also gives more room in the bathroom without the second door. Now, if someone is sleeping in the living room then having that second entrance to the master bath might be important. That way they can use it easily. It was a nice location because we were right across from the bus, check-in, restaurant, main pool, etc.

Buildings 62, 63, and 64 are nice because they have an elevator. :)
