Just thought I would share a few from our trip while we are here- Today is Day 1. Not sure how these look- I am using my work laptop and the screen is so-so at best. Sorry if they are a little off. ;)

Staying in Gatlinburg until Friday then off to South Carolina for a wedding my daughter is a flower girl in. (No pressure on Dad/guy with the fancy camera there.)

A couple of the girls at the first 'Scenic Overlook' we stopped at.

Me holding the camera out the sunroof. The kids love tunnels.

Some more scenery-

Had to check out our favorite picnic area first- Chimneys.

Decided to go up in the observation tower. Yikes- must be 50 years old.

Jeff,

Those are great! It really floors me how clear your photos are. Is it the camera, the lens or are you just that good!

Andy

Those are beautiful pictures...a few words on the vacation spot and you sold me! Now I have to vist! Keep em' coming! I love taking scenic pictures.:thumbsup2

Very nice! Brings back great memories - we used to have a small place in Townsend about 7 miles out of Cades Cove and Gatlinburg is one of my favorite places.

Thanks for the wonderful pics - keep 'em coming.

GREAT stuff, Jeff. Can't wait for Days 2 thru ????! Mountain stream shot is just beautiful. You're gonna run out of wall space pretty soon, with all the keepers you'll be framing!

wow jeff those are just beautiful. thanks for sharing them with us. hope you're having a great time!

enjoy!

We go to Gatlinburg every February. We have TONS of pictures. The beauty in the Smokey Mountains is unparalled IMHO.

I hope you have a big memory card! You will be taking pictures like crazy.

Have you been into town yet? Wait until you see Ripley's! Your kids will love the building, and you'll be snapping even MORE pictures! And...don't forget...you have to pose your kids at every overlook while going over the Mountain! :rotfl: :rotfl: It's required!

Have fun, do lots of shopping, eat lots of fudge and seafood, and spend a lot of money! popcorn:: (Don't forget the Karmel Korn!)

Jeff - Your pictures are so beautiful, especially with the girls and the mountains! You really make me want to be there!

We passed through Gatlinburg last November and it was gorgeous even in the fall without leaves on the trees! Hope you get to see some bears like we did!

Can't wait to see some more tomorrow!

Nice shots. I got married there six years and fifty weeks ago. We are headed up north next weekend during our anniversary, but we are skipping TN and going straight to KY to visit relatives. We are hoping to get out to some sites while we are there, but resting by the pool is the main objective.

Great pix Kevin! I love the mountain vistas! We're doing WDW this summer, but I'm hoping to head down to Skyline Drive in Virginia next summer. Now you've got me wanting to see the Smoky Mountains, too!

Is it Smugmug or you stripping the Exif data? It's be really nice to be able to check that out on some of the photos.

Looks like a nice vacation... have a great time!

Great shots as usual. I really love the tunnel and stream photos. I also like the Disney connection (Tink). I wonder if you'll be going back to the D70, or staying with the D50? Look forward to more pictures, especially the "flower girl" shots. Thanks for sharing and have a great vacation! :thumbsup2

great photos! not sure it would still be this way in summer but in fall we have gone on the roaring fork trail outside of Gatlinburg and pre digital i have gotten some nice animal shots since we usually are the only ones around then. have fun!

Great photos! I really like the one going through the tunnel. That was a really neat motion capture.

Nicely done! The tunnel photo is very creative, enough blur to make it different but clear enough to easily tell what it is.

We will be in the Smoky Mountains next week, leave some photo ops for us! ;)

And ditto what Groucho said, I was dying to check out the EXIF on a couple of the shots.

Great shots. Is that one of the road Hwy 441? Since I frequent the area on my sportbike, I always look for fun roads to ride and that one looks fun.:thumbsup2

Nice shots!

I spy a Junior Ranger Badge on your older daughter- good for her! :thumbsup2

So makes me want to be on a road trip somewhere!
