A few from today- and maybe tomorrow.

Back on topic, I don't think I've ever been able to get exif data off your photos, so I assumed that either SmugMug is doing it all the time, or you're removing them (intentionally or otherwise) during your normal workflow.

I am pretty sure smugmug automatically removes the exif data. I don't know of any way to change this with smugmug.

ok I've had enough! Where do I sign up! It is the Smoky Mountains but does anyone know of a web site I can check out? We camp a lot, love the outdoors but our big vacations have almost always been Disney. This looks like a beautiful place to visit. It looks so relaxing.

:lmao: Funny my next e-mail was the Passporter News and guess what the Travel Feature section is about.....THE GREAT SMOKEY MOUNTIANS! Ask and you shall receive....but if anyone knows any other web sites I can check out I would appreciate it.

Well, we're getting exif data on the latest post of SmugMug photos, so it can be done.

OK, Gdad, I insist that you now go through and re-do every picture you've ever posted on SmugMug to get the exif data back. :rotfl2:

LOL- No problem. I will get right on it. I changed the way I resize the pictures in photoshop- when you resize 'for web' it stripps the data. Should be intact now.

Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge area can get really hectic...last time we went to cades cove we went to Townsend to eat and stuff( i draw the line at cooking anything but an occasion breakfst when we camp) which at that time was much more laid back

Very nice pictures, thanks for sharing.

DH and I spent 10-days in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge this past March/April. We had never been there before, but definitely plan on going back. We stayed in a log cabin in the mountains for 6 nights and LOVED it, and a hotel the other 4 nights. Such a beautiful area, and the spring flowers/trees were blooming so that made it even prettier.

I'm not real familiar with the area so if we stayed in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, it's close to the Smoky Mountains because I was looking at camping but i'm not sure I want to camp with bears! :scared1: We once had a skunk outside our tent and we were trapped inside for about an hour....that's enough for me and my DH had to use the rest room....:rolleyes1

Typically the bears stay away from the campgrounds due to the amount of activity, however, they are wild animals and this is their home. So if you camp on your own you run the risk of running into one. Just do not leave food out where they can smell it. I have been going to this area my whole life and it is a fun area to be in, but PF/Gat. is very commercialized now. I now refer to it as the Myrtle Beach of the mountains if you are familiar with MB. Go during an off season as traffic can be a nightmare.

hmmm - add smugmug to my list of "don't know much about!" My smugmug photos don't have exif data and I don't know where it goes or how to get it back. I always have to look my pictures up in Picasa2 to get my exif data. I don't use Photoshop, so I can't blame it on that. It has to be me doing something wrong.

well threat of being skunked will bring that out in anyone:rotfl2: we had a skunk in our campsite once and husband ran to the car and left me alone to get the kids out of the tent:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: he still hasn't lived that one down
i felt the same way about the bears but have camped 2x there when they had the bear warning signs up and were having increased bear activity and didn't have a problem...it made me really nervous the first time as the site beside us had tons of litter, pop cans etc( and a tiny baby who slept in the pop-up right above their stack of garbage:scared1:) and so if there was ever going to be a bear it probably would have been then..some guy actually said there had been a bear in the camp ground that night but we didn't see or hear anything( but rangers running around the next am)
however not to be scary and i didn't actually see it but once ( we were in a camper at the elkmont camp ground ) i opened the door after dark to get a pop bottle we left outside by mistake and something growled a really deep loud growl at me...so i rapidly closed the door and the bottle was no longer around the next morning:rolleyes1 so bear or not, don't know, could have been a chipmunk with bad bronchitis?:confused3 ;) personally i don't do tents in bear areas...i stay awake enough camping worrying about the crazed ax murders i'm sure are creeping into the campground while i lay there listening to hubby snore:)

you can also stay in cherokee nc although we don't think we have been there since the casino opened i don't know how much it's changed but there are some interesting attractions ( ie a Cherokee village, museum) there
