A Dream Is A Wish...**Joe and Becky's Trip Report!** WP, CT, Yachtsman

OMG you make me wanna cry like a baby!! I feel so horrible for you that your wedding day is over:sad1: ... but then again, so happy because its only begun:woohoo: !!
Cant wait to read more.....:flower3:

Awwww, your wedding sounds so beautiful! And I love your bouquet--what kinds of flowers were in it? The little antenna balls with the names are so creative, and what a cute idea! I can't wait to read more!

Randy Chapman posted our proofs!!!! YAY!!!!!

to check them out, go to his website, www.chapmanphotography.com
go to "my photos" and then find "Rebecca and Joe"

I've only scrolled through them pretty quickly, but I love them so far! :)

Becky these photos are amazing. Did you do a black and white package as well??

Haha... as i looked through your photos I could just put myself in your place and hear Randy telling me... "pick up your skirt"... he kept telling me to grab my skirt for the photos.. I think he thinks it looks good (which it does, most of my photos are of me holding my skirt). Haha... Did he tell you to pick up your skirt in some photos too??

Seriously you and your DH look so happy. I absolutely love your photos, and hope you get time to seriously take a good look and relive all the moments. And you got a photo of you eating your cake!! yay, you got some!! Your bouquet was beautiful.... just like you. You and your mom favor one another tremendously. I am so glad he posted those up for you!!

Thanks for reading everybody!

Gradar1- My bouquet was made of lavender roses, white alstromeria, and white freesia. I saw a picture similar to that bouquet on a Disney wedding board, and sent it in. It weighed a ton, but I loved it!

On with the trip report..... :)

The Honeymoon officially begins!!
Wednesday, November 29, 2006

The plan for today was to sleep late and then to head to the Magic Kingdom for a few hours. We were just going to play it by ear, and see how things went. I woke up fairly early, with our new wake-up call. This time, it was the souding of the horns on the ferry boats from the TTC over to the MK! At first I worried I would get tired of hearing them, but I never did. It wasn't a rude awakening, either...as dorky as it sounds, it put me in a good mood every morning to wake up and know I was that close to the Magic Kingdom. We took our time getting ready, and went over to Capain Cooks for some breakfast. After some really good Mickey waffles, we headed to the monorail.

My yummy breakfast-almost too cute to eat!
wedding065.jpg

We got on the resort monorail since we left straight from Capt Cooks, and were enjoying the view when I realized we were headed right past the Wedding Pavillion. I can't explain what it felt like to ride past it...so many memories from the previous day went through my head! I looked over and saw Joe looking at it, and wondered what he was thinking. He squeezed my hand, and I then I knew. He was thinking the same things I was! :)

We arrive at the Magic Kingdom, and start walking towards the entrance. Once we're through bag check and the ticket turnstiles, we've already been told congratulations about 10 times. We were wearing our just married buttons, but not our wedding ears yet. I knew we would be doing the Mountain's first, and I didn't want to keep taking them off and putting them back on, so they stayed stuffed in the bookbag. We walked down Main Street for the first time of our trip....it was perfect! Not too many people, and the weather was good. We saw a 10 minute wait at Space Mountain, so that was our first ride. The great thing about most Disney rides is that the wait times are generally a little off. In Space Mountain, for instance, 85% of the time that I've gotten in line with a 10 min wait, the wait is only about 5. I figure this is thanks to the design of the queue lines...it takes 5 mins just to get to the front! It's great though...no other park puts this much detail into anything, especially the lines! Space mountain was great, and we headed over to Buzz Lightyear. I was determined to beat Joe, because he absolutely slaughtered me last year, but I had a "broken" gun again apparently! :) That's what I blame it on, anyways!

Next we walk over to one of my alltime favorites, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. I still call it the Wedway People Mover. I'm not sure I'll ever get away from that name. As simple as it is, I love the ride. It's so relaxing, and just kind of sreams "Disney" to me, and has some really good views. It somehow reminds me of the trips I used to take when Horizons, the original Imagination, etc were still around. "Paging Mr Morrow, Mr Tom Morrow"...my friends think I'm out of my mind!

So we exit my dream about the past, and head over to Frontierland, where we ride Splash Mountain without a wait. Luckily, this time, I didnt' get that wet. My theory was to sit on my windbreaker instead of wearing it. I'd rather walk around with a wet shirt than a wet pair of pants....the shirt dries much easier! Splash Mountain was great, and I am a huge fan of Brer Rabbit, so I was happy to see him again!

Big Thunder Mountain was next, and we only waited about 10 mins for this one. It was great. We sat up front, which made the ride seem even slower, but it gave me a chance to look around at some of the details in the ride that I always overlook.

I knew my Dad and Gina were in the park, so after BTMRR, I gave them a call. They were in toontown. Gina's son, daughter-in-law, and 2 grandkids were with them. Apparently Gina and Dad were sitting on a bench waiting for the rest of them to get out of the Hall of Fame Tent, so we decided to meet them there. We put on our ears, and off we went. We met up, told them all about our morning, and we heard all about the Princess breakfast they went to at Cinderella's Royal Table. They said the kids really liked it, and had a blast. I jokingly asked them why they weren't in line to meet the characters....and I got a look and a reply of which someone said "There will be plenty of autographs and pictures!" Of course the lines in toontown were crazy, but it seems to be the place to catch all of the big characters.

Me and my Dad
wedding077.jpg

Our first bit of wedding pixie dust came when Joe went to get us some waters, and came back with free frozen lemonade! It was really nice of them to do that, and it was pretty good :)

We got bored and walked through Mickey's house, which was pretty cute

Joe wants a dog, and we decided at Pluto's doghouse that we'll prob adopt one in the spring(but don't tell our cat!)
wedding082.jpg

Eventually my stepbrother (Charlie), his wife(Brandy) and their 2 kids (Kaleb and Madison) came out and we all decided it was time for a late lunch. Perfect opportunity to take the train, since it was right there, so we headed towards Casey's for some lunch. As we got off the train, it seemed to be perfect timing. The afternoon parade was coming around the corner, and there was enough room that we could all see

wedding094.jpg

On to Casey's, and we all got hot dogs and found a table outside. It was really nice out, and everybody was starving...I tried to take a few pictures in between bites

wedding122.jpg

Kaleb was so cute...he was fascinated by the ducks, so he found a way to attract them to us with his lunch...somehow we didnt' get bitten!
wedding128.jpg

Sidenote- My stepbrother and his wife have the right idea with these 2 kids. You can see in Kaleb's picture the "leash" he has on. Lots of people don't like them, but I learned that day how valuable they can be. Kids have TONS of energy, and this way they can't disappear in the middle of a crowd. We rode with Madison on a few rides, and it helped soo much. Madison would just take off in the blink of an eye, and this was a good way to keep up with her. With so many people, I learned to really like the things..but that's just my honest opinion. Sorry, off the sidenote now :)

At some point during the day, we saw the new stage show in front of the castle that took over when Cinderellebration left. Dream Along With Mickey, or something like that maybe? It was cute, and the kids really liked it.

Me and Joe some time around then

to be continued....

Princess-Thank you! I am so happy with them!! :)

Maggie-I was getting somewhat antsy waiting to see them after I saw how beautiful all of your pictures turned out! We actually did not do a black and white package-I was surprised to see that many! I actually like b+w photos, so it's fine by me! Yep, the "hold up your skirt" comment was there a lot that day! LOL I felt pretty silly doing that, actually! "Pick up your skirt, and act like you're about to walk away..." OK, yeah, I don't feel silly at all! Especially at the hotel-a lot of those shots were taken with him on our 3rd floor balcony, and me on the beach. So all of these people were in their rooms watching me take orders from somebody they couldn't see! HA HA! Who knows what they were thinking! LOL

It's amazing the difference between my "getting ready" photos and the wedding/reception photos. The first ones were kind of forced smiles...I was nervous, and not really used to the camera. They got better as they day went on, though!

I'm so glad that you added more today so I was able to read this. I can't believe I missed it before. Your pictures were gorgeous. It shoulds like you had a great time.

Thansk so much for the TR.

Your pictures are beautiful!!
Thanks for sharing your trip report. I probably will never get married at Disney, so i LOVE reading about it and seeing the pictures!

Aww... my favorite part about TR's isnt the wedding, the dresses, the getting ready, etc... its the honeymoon. I love seeing people's interaction together. Thats pure love. A wedding is somewhat staged... but true fun is completely independant!! YAY for a good time at MK.

Okay- I take back what I said about you and your mom looking alike- I still think you do... but I feel as though you favor your dad more!! Which, I favor mine too- so its certainly not a bad thing.

About the leash-- I must admit, I am in the list of "people who dont/didnt approve"... and while at WDW I made a comment to my mom about them, and she put it into perspective for me. She said that sure they look like you are walking a dog, and sure they look silly... but that she would rather look silly and like walking a dog anyday over losing her kid. And while it is very true that they do look a little inhumane.... they do serve a purpose. I couldnt imagine my niece running around WDW... they would NEVER find her!! And so easy to wonder off or get picked up. Theres a point where they are just too big for a stroller but way too energetic for an independant walk. Im glad you posted this!!

Please post more soon!!

Disney-Thanks for reading! I'm glad you're enjoying it!

Magic Kingdom continued

We all decided to head over to Tomorrowland together. We told them how much fun Buzz Lightyear was, so we went for that next. This is when I started to lose my new husband to a 4 year old! Madison took a serious liking to Joe during the day, and had decided that he was no longer mine...as in she kept saying "my Joe!" It was so sweet..she wanted to walk with us instead of her parents, but mainly she wanted MY husband! It's no wonder-he's great with kids. (Nope, we're not having any any time soon....we're a little too selfish right now and just want to have some time to ourselves. However, once that day comes, I know he's gonna be great.)
One of Madison's favorite ways to assure that Joe wasn't going to forget about her-"Lift me up and put me on your shoulders, Joe!" Somehow she had a look in her eye when she was near him towards me....kinda like "uh-huh, see, he's mine now!" :) She's adorable...I was having so much fun with her. It was too much fun to watch them play!

Joe and Madison-Joe gave her his wedding ears for a while! :)
wedding154.jpg

After Buzz, which Madison and Kaleb loved, we went to the TTA for a break. Somehow after that, we ended up at the Haunted Mansion. I was surprised that the kids were going to ride, but Madison wasn't going to leave Joe. There was a remedy in play for her though. She rode in a doom buggy with me and him, and he taught her to "scare" the ghosts in the ride. Every time she was scared, she would say "ggrrrrrrr!". It got louder and louder as the ride went on. If you were on the ride with us that night, I do apologize. But it was better than a screaming, crying, little girl. And they were hilarious to watch screaming at those ghosts!

We survived the Mansion, and decided to get seats for SpectroMagic. We found a good curb and took our seats. I really like SpectroMagic...this time was especially good. We kept getting "Congratulations!" from different characters in the parade! Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, and a few others! The highlight of the parade was watching Madison and Kaleb, especially when they got special attention...a few characters came up to them, and one of the fish (the ones that spin round and round) came right up to them and winked. Too cute!

Madison, before Wishes, with the wand she got at breakfast that day
wedding190.jpg

Next was Wishes, which is probably my favorite nighttime show. Illuminations is only about 1/2 step behind, but something about Wishes gets me every time. I tried not to cry. I tried really hard. I don't think it worked....but I don't think anybody noticed, either. :) We had a spot fairly close to the castle, which was a new perspective for me. We were lucky enough to see Tink fly that night, which was really cool! I liked seeing all of the effects by being close to the castle, but quite a few of the fireworks were hidden. It was still a great show, no matter where we were! We held hands, and I thought about how happy I was to be married to him, and how we couldn't have picked a better place to spend our honeymoon. I get sappy during Wishes...can't help it!

Wishes ends, and we join the mobs of people headed down main street. Madison and Kaleb were doing real well, considering they were going all day long, pretty much non stop. Heck, the honest truth-they were doing better than me! I was tired and getting kind of cranky :) We all took the ferry over to the TTC, where they went to their car, and we took the path over to the Poly. It was only about a 3 min walk from the TTC to our room. Talk about convenient!

Overall, it was a GREAT first day! We had some time alone, but also got to spend some time with my Dad and Gina, and her family. It was also fun to see the MK from the viewpoint of a 4 year old!

We passed out after such a long day, and promised to take it a little easier tomorrow. That seems to be hard to do at Disney, even though I truly do try to take a break!

Up Next: Animal Kingdom, just haging around, and the last Cake

That little girl is so cute. I bet that was fun. Your DH seems like he definately will be a good father figure (already thinking of ways to divert the childs attention away from crying and onto sillyness-- way to go Joe!).

I cant agree more- theres just something about wishes. Maybe its jimini crickets calming voice... with the slow instrumental music... and then tinker bell flying... its as if its a fantasy and you are truely living it. Okay- I have cold chills now.....

Becky... I just saw your sneak peak from STVS.. .and i have to say everything looks so perfect!! The kiss as rev jack pronounced you was so... sweet!! I am so happy for you!!

On with the honeymoon!

Thursday, Nov 29, 2006

This was going to be a half and half day. One half Disney, one half not Disney. The first half would be at Animal Kingdom. Joe had never been, so we were looking forward to it. However, we were dragging a little bit all day long, which slowed us down quite a bit!

We had breakfast at Capt Cooks again...I really liked Capt Cooks, even though it could stand to be a little bigger. The renovation they did turned out really good(even though I only saw pics of the old one), but size wise, it got a little crowded during meal times. No big deal, I was happy to have my breakfast on Disney property, even if it meant that I had to sit on the floor :)

We caught a bus to Animal Kingdom, and immediately spotted the beautiful, huge Christmas tree outside.

Joe got creative with the camera-he wanted me in the pic but he also got the whole tree...
wedding222.jpg

We were pretty much in a lazy mode, so we didn't really know what we wanted to do first, so we walked around awhile, and took some pictures.

Expedition Everest looked amazing...the detail, even from a distance, was great!

The Tree of Life

wedding278.jpg

wedding281-1.jpg

We decide to head over to Everest first. I was a little worried about the lines, but the standby wait was only 30 minutes. Worked for me, as I had read about how good the theming in the line was. Everybody was right! There was so much to look at, but we only saw a little piece of it. Once we got on the ride, it didn't seem like we had waited very long at all. The ride itself was really good...and had a lot of good surprises. I won't give them all away, you can read about them if you haven't already over on the other board!

Next we were off to Kilimanjar Safaris. This is by far, one of the best. We didn't have to wait for too long, thanks to so many vehicles running at one time. It blows my mind the number of acres this ride covers! We saw lots of animals, which I was happy about-it was pretty hot that day, so I wondered how many would be hiding out. It was overall really good, even thought it was difficult to take very many pictures....we were in the back of a very bumpy truck, and it's difficult enough with just that-but then add in everybody else trying to take pictures..that makes for a lot of elbows in the way! But we got a few

wedding239.jpg

wedding267.jpg

After the safari, we just walked around for a while, admiring the animals all over the park.

You know, if you think about it, these guys really do have it made. Not only do they have a great job of sitting around all day and entertaining guests, they are living in Disney 24/7! Hmmm...how do you get a job like that? :) (Nope, I'm not jealous at all!)

Some of those VERY lucky animals:
wedding287.jpg

wedding290.jpg

We ended up in Dinoland USA, where we rode Primeval Whirl. I'd never been on this one before, but I wanted to give it a try. Joe and I had been to the state fair earlier this year, and he made me ride the EXTREMELY rickety wild mouse there. It was completely terrifying, and I'm not sure how I lived through it(I'm not one for those state fair rides-at all)! So when he gave me the excuse that he didnt' want to ride Primeval Whirl because the spinning would make him sick, I told him to get the heck over it and he didn't have a choice! :) The ride was great....It's like a wild mouse and a Tilt-a-Whirl all wrapped into one. I'll never forget...at the top of the lift hill, right before you drop, there is a ding, kind of like a microwave ding...as in "ready!" Don't know why I found this so hilarious, and I laughed until I cried the whole way through the ride!

It was lunch time again. Seems to me, every time we turn around, we're eating. And eating some more. Hmmmm oh well! :) We had lunch in Dinoland at Restaurantosaurus. I must not have been very hungry, but this was one of the not so good meals we had on our trips. I think we both got burgers, they just weren't doing much for me. I wasn't too worried about it, probably because it was rather hot outside, and my appetite tends to drop when I'm hot. Hmmm, mabye I need to move to Florida where it's always warm-I won't eat so much! :)

We got done eating, and went over to Dinosaur, which I had never been on. I was TERRIFIED! I knew it would be scary....but I must have screamed like a 5 year old! It really is a neat ride, though. It amazes me how the imagineers come up with things like that. I've watched the Travel Channel(or something like that) special so many times that show how they made Dinosaur, and every time I sit there an watch it amazed as if I've never seen it before!

After dinosaur, we decided we both liked Primeval Whirl so much that we would ride it again.

Joe after the 2nd time riding(looking pretty worn out! lol)
wedding285-1.jpg

I suggested riding again,(3rd time!) and got this reaction: :)
wedding284.jpg

We were both hot and exhausted, so we decided to call it a day at AK. We didn't see any of the shows, which I was disappointed about, or really take the time to walk through the trails, but I know we will be going back on our next trip. We just needed some down time.

On our way out, we saw A really pretty waterfall somewhere in the park(sorry I don't remember where!)
wedding225.jpg

We caught the bus back to the Poly, where we walked around the resort and took some pictures.

One of Joe's favorite spots at the Poly!
wedding299-1.jpg

This one would have come out better if he didn't have the bookbag on his back, but it'll work until the next trip! We planned on re-taking the picture, but time flies by....
wedding309-1.jpg

That night, we had arranged to spend some time with my Mom and Grandparents, who had spent the morning/afternoon in Epcot. We originally had plans to go to dinner at Jiko, but we cancelled them, needing some serious down time. They stopped by to pick us up, along with some dirty laundry, my dress, and other various wedding things they would be taking back home for us. We ended up eating dinner at Outback, and then heading back to their condo, where we washed some clothes. I thought I had packed enough, but I didn't expect it to be quite so hot, so we were going through shorts rather quickly, and we still had another 6 days to go. While we were there, we sat around reminiscing about the wedding, and pulled out our wedding cake, which had been in their fridge! We wanted to eat as much of it as possible-we knew it wouldn't survive their 11 hour ride home, and I already had too much carry-on luggage to begin with. It still tasted delicous...I ate 2 pieces! I would love to have some more right about now, along with some Fairy Tale Cuvee. Maybe for our anniversary trip(or sooner if we make it back before then!) This was also my first chance to see some of the wedding pictures. I was thrilled to hear that Papa had taken some shots on his camera....they really did bring tears to my eyes.

Once the laundry was done, it was getting really late, and I couldn't hold my eyes open much longer. We really had been going non stop for several days, and it had caught up with me. It's so hard to take a break at Disney, even though that's the key to survival if you're there for more than a few days! They drove us back to the Poly, and we told them goodbye. They weren't leaving until Saturday, but we wouldn't see them until we got back to Reidsville. Just like with Joe's parents, I hated to see them go. It had been great having a family vacation with everybody together! We dragged back up to the room, and crashed. We had to get some sleep...we had our Segway Tour at Epcot the next morning to look forward to!

Up next: Jumping off the Segway, and hanging out with my Dad and Stepmom!

Becky... I am so glad you posted about taking time to rest. I think I dragged both my parents, and DH all over WDW against their will at times. At night, the blisters on our feet were unbareable. We had to cram everything.. the wedding, honeymoon, etc into 6 days (DH and I like to take 2 big vacations a year, so that we dont get too used to not having a vacation)... so with 6 days... I didnt want to miss a thing. On our next trip- there will be absolutely no excuse for not taking downtime!!

Im glad someone enjoys primeval whirl. That thing makes me wanna ... well.. just what Joe was saying. I think it is too jerky for me, and does remind me of one of those state fair rides. I guess thats why i dont like it... and just like you- I had those rides they put up in 10 minutes and take down just as quick. Obviously they arent very safe if they can do that. I suppose that ride just reminds me of such.

Cant wait to hear about the rest.. and the segway tour. DH and I didnt do the segway tour- but we did try out the segways while there. Very cool!

Your TR is bringing back all the great memories!
I can't believe it's been over a month ago. Seems like just the other day we were planning and stressing and list-making and worrying about all the details! It turned out so beautifully, thanks for posting here!

Love ya!
:flower1:

Your TR is awesome! I feel like I'm back in Disney:goodvibes Your pics are great and you were such a beautiful bride :bride: The two of you, along with your families looked so happy. I hope our VR turns out this well.

JUST when you thought I forgot about you-- BOOM.. here I am!

I really hope you will get around to finishing your TR.. I miss reading it

How about that Segway tour?

Hi everybody!

Sorry it's been such a long time...I promise I haven't forgotten about you guysl! I went back to school (again!) a few weeks ago, and have been working at the same time....and it's taken me a few days to adjust! Life has been somewhat crazy, but the greatest thing is that my husband is here by my side every day!! :)

If I'm lucky, it will snow here in NC tomorrow, and we will not have class, which may give me a few mins of free time! I know everybody west of us is getting pounded with snow, but we haven't had any here in a few years, and I'd love to see just a few pretty flakes :) If not, I have the weekend off(YAY!!!) and I promise I'll get back to work for my Dis Friends!

See ya real soon! :)
