A Dream Come True - 2/6/11 4-day Bahama Cruise

Alright, guys... don't let it go to your head, but you are a bunch of good looking guys! :thumbsup2

buuuut....

princesswendy - congrats!

In the photo-
I'm the golden hair god in the center
Mike is on my left
Paul my husband is on my right
And that is the insipid staff in the back.
Except for the guy in the middle - who will be my second husband after I kill off Paul from all the sex.

OMG! Well! I'm sure glad I was able to warn Jeremy in time! You already have a husband and you were eyeballing mine, too? GREEDY GREEDY!

:rotfl: Does anyone smell Bleach?:rotfl:
Thats me Jamie top Left, My husband is Ben top right.

I work on a college campus. Wallyb's blonde is not even close to one of the more unusual things that I've seen! ;)

We have less than 2 weeks until move-in starts and all the students and faculty return. Where did my summer GO?

do any of you know for sure if it is a must to have passports for disney cruises? I just checked the cost and OMG it will cost us over $500 to get passports for our family of 5:eek:

I think the answer is "technically, no" as the cruise begins and ends in the same place. However, it's always smarter to have passports when you leave the country (and these days, for re-entering the country).

Technically no, you do not need a passport as of yet...

BUT.....if someone in your party gets sick and needs to fly back to the states you will need one...

You're going to need one eventually, so if you can swing the money, I would start the process ASAP....

From the DCL site......

OK, after changing my mind half a dozen times and driving my travel agent crazy, we've made our plans.

We're going to Pop Century for four nights before the cruise (got the free dining, couldn't pass that up!). Then, of course, the cruise, and then we're going to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for three or four nights. We can't make that final decision until we figure out how much vacation time Jim will have by then. We'll go the parks during the Pop Century part of the trip, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge portion will be relaxing and doing resort stuff. Fortunately, Shannan is into that kind of stuff, too.

Now I have to think about ADR's for meals for all of those days. That could keep me busy until Christmas!

See you at Pop Century! We just booked for two nights, pre-cruise, earlier this week and our friends are too. :) Sadly, my husband is adamant that we're not going in to the parks. We'll see; our friends have a young boy who has never been before. ;)

The package comes with two-day park tickets. We've upgraded them to park hoppers, but we'll only do two days. We may even do one before and one after the cruise, that will depend on the weather forecasts, etc. We all enjoy Epcot and the Animal Kingdom, and Jim wants to see a couple of things at Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom, so that should work out perfectly for us! Since we'll be going back in the fall (probably September), we can be really relaxed and laid back and not have to rush around from place to place. This vacation may just be all about relaxing and eating and relaxing some more! We've got to get all of our resting done before the new baby arrives in March!

Beth

Well, I'm starting to look at flights and if I can book them with miles. I guess that means I should hop to it, if I plan to do so!

Of course, we still haven't bought our Christmas airfare to visit Jeremy's parents and, unfortunately, those are about $500 each. Yikes.

Still seems so far away now.:guilty:

We have cruise all payed off now.
And the airfare.
Upgraded our WDW to include premium dinning.

And Booked the wishes fireworks cruise on our last night

:cloud9:
Hope this is one magnificent magical mirthful journey -
for all my cherished DIS Friends -
they mean so much to me.

Just spent six hours with no power due to a huge outage here. It amazes me that a house with no air conditioning can get even hotter when there's no power! We're good now, but I set my battery-powered alarm clock just in case it goes out again. My street has been on for about 90 minutes now, but the streets just north of here still have no power. They're going to have a long, hot night!

Yikes!! I hate hot.

Is the outage due to weather or overload?

Airfare booked!
Booked one way flights on 2 different airlines and with miles paid $179.51 (RT) per person from Portland! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Booked 3 days beforehand at Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas and 2 days after the cruise at Wilderness Lodge Villas. I've never even eaten at the WL so I'm VERY excited.

Wally Loooooooooooves WL...so we'll see...maybe it's a dump.

The outage was due to "equipment failure". I translate that to mean that it wasn't working??!!! We needed an official to tell us that???

It has been very hot here this summer--much more than usual. It was over 95 degrees again today, but this time the power stayed on. The water in my pool is warm enough again that we spent an hour swimming around after work. This year we got the pool, next year we're getting a heater! It was really great in the heat of July and early August, but the cooler nights now keep it from staying warm. The other night the water was just over 70 degrees. That's really too cold for me, but I was a good grandma and went in with Shannan. At least tonight the water was almost 80 degrees!

NICE, $179! We've been looking from Seattle and there still are no good deals, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

We will also booked AKL for 8 nights before the cruise, maybe we will run into each other!!

I travel to the East coast fairly often so I know I need to be on these things. I had 20,000 Delta miles..not enough for a free round trip but Delta lets you use partial miles to pay for fares. 10,000 = $100. So if I hadn't used the miles it wouldn't have been a great fare at all. Have you tried using www.Farecast.com? It's my favorite way to search for flights.

Funny, we use farecast all the time. We are so horrible, our family of four flies to orlando from seattle every year and we never sign up for miles, we are horrible!
