A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

Great Christmas pics, especially the one with Jack and the wrapping paper. Legos and Zelda, brings back memories. I often thought how nice that your youngest DS looked like you and the older one like your DH :goodvibes

Oh yes we did ! My dd has the pics in her camera .. I need to get them from her. But everyone was very happy. :santa:

Glad to hear it! :thumbsup2

Cute pics from Christmas! Gotta love the kids in the their jammies on Christmas morning. That's just tradition! And Jack looks like he is up to no good all tangled up in that wrapping paper!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I think Jack was confused as to why he was finally allowed to trash the house!! :lmao:

Thanks Sheila! :) Yes, Legos and video games were the big things this year here!

It's funny because DS10 looks like me, but has more of DH's personality. And DS12 looks like DH, but it so much more like me!

Okay, back to business:

In no time we were off the monorail and entering the park!

We headed straight for The Land. We got fastpasses for Soarin and then rode Living with the Land.

Our fastpasses for Soarin weren't good for awhile so we went to World Showcase for a bit. I had been wanting to see one of the WS films for the last few trips. Any film, didn't care. And I had never been able to talk any of the boys into it. So this time I put my foot down and said – we are going to see Impression de France, let's go!! So off we went. With 3 reluctant boys!!

And we finally made it! And guess what??? Everyone enjoyed the show! It wasn't near as boring as they expected!

Now it was time to go use our Soarin fastpasses!! Too bad when we exited the film it was raining outside. And was getting worse by the minute. So I got out the ponchos. It was pretty miserable walking through Epcot in the rain with the ponchos on and the wind blowing the hoods off our heads!

You can sense DS10's misery in this pic!

He wanted to smile, but he just couldn't quite do it! This was while we waited for Soarin. And when we got to the front of the line they made us take our ponchos off. We had only brought one for each of us, so we had to hold onto the nasty wet things. We stuffed them under our seats for the ride and tried to enjoy our flight!

Now there's a real smile! You can't help but to smile when you are on Soarin!

We grabbed some more Soarin fastpasses when we got off and then we were all getting hungry. So we were headed to Mexico for some dinner!

Up Next: Dinner at La Cantina

Love the picture of Jack underneath all those wrapping papers! Reminds me of my cat. He is super happy to have a cardboard box filled with tissue paper. It was his "gift" last year, and he still uses it. So this year we filled it with new tissue paper. If only kids were this cheap this please. :lmao:

Oh the joy of going to WDW in early September. You can get to Epcot way after rope drop, get Soarin' FPs for just a few hours later, and then when you return to ride, get more Soarin' FPs!

Cute Christmas pictures! :goodvibes

Ughhh... I can't even imagine how icky it must have been to walk across Epcot in the wind and rain. That just doesn't sound fun. Soarin', though, THAT is fun!

I haven't seen a film in WS yet either. Are they really not that boring? ;) Sorry the rain was so miserable. Thank goodness for ponchos!

Epcot did not look busy at all. All the rain and wearing ponchos (glistening under them) is the one thing I remember about going to Disney the two times in August.

I'm so glad that you all had a great Christmas! We had a great Christmas too. It has been nice being off from work and having time with the girls.
I can't believe that we have never seen a film in WS either! I haven't been able to convince the girls and DH to see one.:upsidedow
I am very curious about the Disney announcement on New Year's Eve. We are seriously considering a trip to WDW the last week of August. It is getting too difficult for DD10 and my other girls to miss school. It is DD10's birthday that week so the trip would be a surprise to her. I hope it works out!

The Canada show is really good, plus you get to walk through the gorgeous gardens to get there. It's one of those 360 degree screens narrated by Martin short so it's funny. I highly recommend it!
NYC was crazy busy today. Went to the Disney store in times square and got NYC vinylmations.

That's a great picture! I can just feel the joy! I love Soarin' too. :lovestruc

We had our first episode of walking through the park in the rain on this last trip and it was absolute misery, so I can feel your pain! The ponchos really just don't cut it in a hard rain. :sad2:

I'm so glad you guys checked out one of the films in WS! I can't get enough of WS. So many people say they don't like it, but I think you just have to take the time to really explore and appreciate it. We've seen several of the films and have enjoyed them all. The scenery in them is gorgeous! The live entertainment is still my favorite though. We have seen a new 'show' each time we have been in WS and they are all good and full of very talented people. I really think people overlook a lot of the cool stuff in WS.

Can't wait to see more of your Epcot time! :thumbsup2

Yes, if only wrapping paper and boxes would please the kids. Maybe in the good old days, but not now!! :confused3:rotfl:

I know, on our November trips if we didn't get to Epcot at rope drop then we could forget about Soarin because the line was huge and all the fastpasses were gone by noon. :scared1:

Yeah, icky is a good word to describe how we felt that afternoon. Luckily a few rides on Soarin was all we needed to cheer ourselves up! :thumbsup2

Well the one in France is not that boring! Can't speak for the rest of them yet. :rotfl:

Nope, it wasn't busy at all!! Good thing because throw in some crowds with all that rain and I would have been one grumpy girl! :scared1::rotfl:

*Glistening* - now there's a word I haven't heard in awhile! :lmao:

I am enjoying the time off from school and being with the kids too! :) It's going by fast though.

Glad to hear you had a great Christmas too. How did the puppy like it?

Hey maybe we'll finally get to meet up if we both end up going at the end of August! :yay:

Is the Canada show one you have to stand for? I was thinking that one and China were 360 standing films. I'm not too sure how I'd like that. :confused3

I'd definitely like to try to squeeze in at least one film per trip from now on.

I bet NYC was crazy busy!! At least you got to go to the Disney Store! :cool1:

Thanks! :) Soarin always puts a huge smile on my face, I just LOVE that ride! :goodvibes

Yeah, the flip flops I was wearing that night were kind of made of a spongy material and it seemed like all the water was just soaking into them. It felt gross! :scared1:

Yes there is definitely a lot to check out in WS. We always used to miss that stuff, but as the boys get older we find ourselves spending more time there. :cloud9:

Shelly - great Christmas photos. You'll have to tell me how Skylander is. DS is asking for it and I just don't know. We talked to the guys at Game Stop about it. He said its a great game, just the thought of having to buy all the "characters" to get to all the parts of the game is a bit overwhelming.

The only time we've dealt with rain in Disney was our last visit in February a few years ago - at it was pouring at Epcot. There is nothing fun about walking around World Showcase in the pouring rain. We were soaked. We lasted a little while, but soon it was just not any fun.

I'm always afraid I'm gonna drop my camera if i try and take a picture on Soarin'. :scared1: Great pictures and update!

I had a friend get that for her DH for Christmas and they LOVE playing it.

Thanks! :santa:

The kids are loving Skylanders!! Of all their gifts it is what they are playing with the most. But yes, it can get costly. The game itself (and all the junk that came in the pkg) was $70. And a 3 pack of the characters is $20. I had the grandparents get them each a 3 pack. You can also get just 1 character for $8.

You are right -- there is nothing fun walking around WS in the pouring down rain!

I'm always afraid I'm gonna drop my camera if i try and take a picture on Soarin'. :scared1: Great pictures and update!

 I make sure to have the wrist strap wrapped around my wrist a few times!!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the update!

Shelly- Glad to hear that you are enjoying your time off as well.:goodvibes
The puppy has been doing very well! He is not having nearly as many accidents, and is still sleeping a lot!
We are most likely going to be in WDW in August! You will have to let me know if you decide on an August trip. My family would love to meet your family!:goodvibes

P.S. Check out my new ticker!

Well that's good news -- less accidents and still sleeping a lot!! :cool1::laughing: Jack never wants to take naps during the day anymore, he's too afraid he'll miss something! :rotfl:

We wanted to go in May, but it doesn't look like that is going to work out, so it just may be the end of August again! :yay:

Love the new ticker!! :thumbsup2

Are you missing me yet???

:rotfl2:

Can I just say that this has been one of those Christmases that never ends and it hasn't gotten any better yet?? :headache:

Oh well... life continues.

I'm sorry I've missed so much here--- your updates are wonderful.

Loved the Christmas pics- I'm so glad that the boys had a great time. Including your excessively hairy son. Those are adorable pics--- you should frame the one of Jack in the paper.

Great update from Epcot too!! I hate WDW in the rain-- I know people say just put your poncho on and deal with it-- but I'm such a brat that I think it should never ever ever rain on my parade. :rolleyes1
It's ok I guess if it's just sprinkling- but the downpours-- uh-uh. Miserable. And then you're wet and feel gross.

The pic of DS10 on Soarin is so precious-- loved it. What a smile.:cloud9:

I hope all is well with you---
Happy New Year to you if I don't get back on here before then!!

Love the Soarin' pics ! Although the person in the background that is leaning over the front really weirds me out. :scared1: I'm too scared to MOVE on that ride .. never mind lean over.

Yeah rain really stinks .. we had a week of it when we went there one October and it was miserable. :sad2: I'm sort of thinking it could go either way for our April trip .. hopefully we'll have a DRY week. :goodvibes
