A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

So i just joined in and I'm on Day 4. I started reading because I am a CBR person but always wanted to try the Poly too but havn't tried it yet. So I'm looking at your pictures, and what is that? A DOLE WHIP MACHINE?!!! I think I'm in love:lovestruc:love: I'm about to change my reservations right now, just for the dole whip machine :lmao:

Anyhow just wanted to say I am enjoying slacking at work and reading your TR. You've done a fabulous job with it and I can't wait to get to your time at the Poly.

Great update!
I've probably said this before but sometimes feel like I'm looking at my own vacation pics lol :)
I took the same pics from the top of the slide and of my boys coming down- of course making the rock sign with their hands lol!!
The pool didn't look crowded at all. We tried to get there earlier and earlier just to get a table. They definately need a bigger pool and deck with more seating.
If you don't get to do another update- (I know it's been hard for me to even get on the computer) have a very Merry Christmas!

Deb :)

:welcome: I'm so glad you joined us!!

Let me tell you -- if you like CBR you will absolutely LOVE the Poly!! :goodvibes I never thought a place could live up to all the hype that place gets - but it does. ::yes::

And yes, a Dole Whip Machine!! :cool1: And you can fill your cup up as full as you want!:cloud9:

I'm glad you are enjoying the TR. I think almost everyone is slacking at work this week - so it's okay! :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

The volcano pool looks awesome .. my guys would love it ! Great pics. :thumbsup2

It is very awesome!! :goodvibes Glad you are enjoying the pics!

Thanks Deb! :)

Well then you must have taken some great vacation pics!! :thumbsup2:rotfl:

Too bad our boys didn't meet up, sounds like they would have had a blast together!

Yes, they definitely need some more tables by the pool. I'm sure the cabanas only made things worse there.

Thank you so much. I may sneak in one more update before Christmas. But if not, you have a very Merry Christmas too. :santa:

Good morning! :goodvibes Are you all ready for Christmas? :santa: I think I am. The shopping is done! I finished the last of my baking last night. DS10's Christmas party at school was yesterday. Today is their last day. DH has a half day tomorrow and then he is off through Tuesday.

We will have Christmas with my mom and brother and SIL and nephew on Saturday. My dad and step-mom will come here later in the day on Christmas day. And I'm not sure yet when we will see DH's parents, probably Friday night or sometime Monday I suppose. They are sort of last minute planners, which drives me nuts!! :crazy2:

So I think I will squeeze in one more update before things get totally crazy around here!! And I apologize for dragging this TR out. I fully intended to have it done before Christmas, but life kind of got in the way. So it looks like it might go on for another month or so with the holidays. :scared1: I hope I'm not boring anyone!!!

When I left off we were still at the Poly pool:

After quite a few hours at the pool the kids said they were ready to go back to the room and play and watch TV for awhile. DH and I weren't quite ready to leave our wonderful spot yet, so I took the kids up to the room and they got changed and then I took them into the CL lounge to get some of the afternoon snacks to take back to the room.

The afternoon offerings were pretty much the same as the day before. Maybe a few different items.

After I got them all situated I went back down to the pool to see what DH was up to. And he was on the phone with his boss.

So I dropped off a few cookies and drinks I had picked up in the lounge for us and then went into Captain Cooks to get us something small for lunch.

I ended up getting a flatbread pizza for us to share. It was pretty good. Total cost: $7.45.

After we were done we sat there for a little while longer just soaking in the Poly atmosphere and loving every second of it. And that's when I said to DH – This is the Life, I think I could live here!! :cloud9: (Where I got the idea for part of the title of this TR!)

After awhile we reluctantly made our way up to the room and rested for a bit and then got ready for our evening in Epcot.

We decided that it was probably easier to just walk over to the TTC and take the Epcot monorail from there, rather than taking the Poly monorail all the way around to the TTC and then changing to the Epcot monorail. So that's what we did. We enjoyed our little walk over to the TTC, but by the time we got there it had started to sprinkle. The sky was dark and we were glad we had packed our umbrella and ponchos.

It's so fun arriving at Epcot via the monorail and being able to see inside the park before even entering!

Up Next: Epcot!

I love that Epcot monorail too! We need to take it more often. It is so cool to see inside the park.

I agree. I could live a the Poly too! I've often wondered if you could get a discounted monthly rate? :rotfl:

Don't worry about your TR moving slow. I think you update a lot to have so much going on. And everyone is so, so busy this time of year anyway, that I actually appreciate a slower pace so I can keep up.

Don't worry Shelly...you are far from boring! I am loving your TR!:thumbsup2
I cannot wait to stay at the Poly some day. It looks so relaxing. I love the Epcot monorail too...it is fun to look and see if the park looks crowded or not.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!:santa: We are staying local for Christmas...we will have DH's parents over in the morning, and then traveling about 20 minutes to my parents house to have Christmas dinner. Have a great holiday!

I know, it's the best way to enter Epcot!! :goodvibes

A discounted monthly rate at the Poly would be wonderful, wouldn't it?!! :lovestruc

I know 3 months isn't that long to have been writing a TR, but it just seems long to me since I usually have them done in 2-3 months!! :upsidedow

Aw, thanks Lauren! :)

I hope you pick the Poly for your next trip! :thumbsup2

Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful Christmas! :santa:

I don't think I have ever arrived at Epcot by monorail! If I have, it's been so long ago that I've forgotten. I'll have to add that to my list of must-do's for my next trip. The way it looks, I'll have a very long list by the time I ever get back. :sad2:

Like everyone else, I've been busy getting everything done for Christmas. I've finally finished my shopping and wrapping. :faint: I told my DH this morning that I have wrapper's back from sitting on the floor for hours wrapping presents. So I treated myself by cleaning house and mopping today! Yesterday my DSis and I cooked seafood gumbo to freeze and have after Christmas when my DD gets to come home. Tomorrow I will begin cooking or preparing to cook my Christmas Eve and Christmas dishes.

I have loved following your TR and it is NOT boring!! It's fun seeing all your wonderful pics of your family and hearing how to do Disney the right way! I will be a different person on my next trip. ;) My DH will faint when I say we are going to sleep in and have a resort day.

I hope you have a happy and blessed Christmas. I'm looking forward to pics of your boys (you haven't shared what they are wanting from Santa this year) with all of their new surprises. Be sure and include a pic of Jack in his Christmas outfit! ;)

I'm sure I'll check in on the Dis between now and Christmas, but I just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas just in case! :santa:

P.S. Where the heck is Jodi???

Hey Teri! :goodvibes

Yep, definitely add arriving to Epcot via monorail to your list!! :thumbsup2

I'm telling you, if you take things slow your DH will want to go back again and again! ::yes::

Sounds like you have been very busy! My upper back always hurts bad after wrapping presents. I hate wrapping presents to begin with!!

I'm glad you have been enjoying the TR! I've enjoyed sharing it with all of you, even if it is taking me quite awhile to do so. :upsidedow

As far as what the boys want for Christmas -- expensive stuff!! :faint: Good grief, I told DH it is going to look bare under the tree because everything they want is about $50+. :sad2: Mostly video games for DS12 and Lego sets for DS10. But hey, they will be happy!! :yay: Little Jack may be getting a few things too!

Jodi is on Christmas vacation in sunny SC!! :goodvibes Or at least she should be almost there by now. Maybe when she gets back things will liven up around here! :rotfl:

I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas! :santa:

Your TR isn't boring at all! I probably won't even get around to doing one, so you should be proud of yourself!

I think it has been years since we took the monorail to Epcot, I recall taking it the first two trips when stayed at the Travelodge in Hotel Plaza Blvd and their buses I think dropped us off at the TTC . I love the monorail but it looks like this trip will be another non-monorail trip. DH decided we will rent a car this trip for going to MK and DTD(as of now we are skipping AK).........Who is this Man? He never use to want to drive while on vacation unless absolutely neccessary and now he would rather drive than take the bus :confused3

I was all done shopping then found out My Ddil's Mother will be visiting with her when she comes over on Christmas Day so had to run out today to Target and pick a something for her. Now if I could just hire an elf to wrap everything I'd be all set.

Hope you and your family have a safe and wonderfull Christmas and that Santa is good to everyone :santa:

I hope to one day, spend some nights at the Poly! Just to be that close to MK would be awesome!!!
Have a Merry Christmas and good luck with all of the family visits. I'm almost happy that we don't live around family. I don't have anywhere to go and no one to visit me! :thumbsup2

Don't worry about taking long to update. I've been so busy, it gives me time to stay on top of the updates. Plus, I hate when trip reports are over, it's always a sad moment. I get used to regularly reading about other people's trips. :goodvibes:

I love seeing Epcot from the monorail before going in. :)

We were probably on our third or fourth trip before we discovered taking the monorail to Epcot! :upsidedow

I can't believe you guys are renting a car!! Guess people change! I don't think my DH will ever change his mind about not wanting to drive on vacation. I think even if we drive to WDW he would still want to take the buses and monorail to the parks! :rotfl:

Glad you got all your shopping done! Too bad you still have all the wrapping to do. :scared1:

I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas as well. :santa::goodvibes

I know, everyone is so busy this time of year!! :crazy2: So maybe slowing down on here isn't a bad idea! I had just hoped to have it done by now. The details are getting kind of fuzzy! I don't take notes, just go off of memory and my pictures. But you are right, it is always so sad when a TR is over.

This TR is not boring at all! I'm still enjoying it very much. :) Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I am hearing driving to MK is not such a good idea, since you have to park at the TTC and then take a tram to the park, or take the Monorail or walk which I am hearing is a long walk. I am going to present the new info to Dh and he may change his mind yet about driving. We drove to Disney and did not use our car for the parks only for going to US, SeaWorld and FT Wilderness for HDDR.

Yeah, I have heard many people who drive say that they don't drive to MK because it's too much of a hassle.

I for one am glad that the TR is going slow! Then I can keep up!
I need a few TRs to read between now and March anyway!!!

I hope you and your family have a
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
