A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

Yeah - get on it!! We're waiting!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Getting on it soon!! :thumbsup2:cool1:

All this Wishes talk made me get on Youtube and watch it as well as the Christmas Wishes. It was fun! Boy oh boy, I want to be there! :sad1:

Great pics! My boys are 12 and 14 so it's fun to watch your boys having fun.

I also have to sometimes talk my boys into staying for fireworks. Often, my DD11 and I are watching the fireworks alone while DH and the boys do SM over and ov. :scared1:er

I do that sometimes too!! :goodvibes

I know, I always love when the kids act like themselves at WDW - and don't have to worry so much about trying to be cool in front of their friends!!

Shelly, I'm sorry I have been MIA. December is soooo busy! I'm still here though. :)

Your castle and Wishes pictures are gorgeous. Love them! Main Street at night is just magical!

Hey Kelli! :goodvibes I know, everyone is so crazy busy these days!!

I just LOVE Main Street at night. :lovestruc I could just stand there and look at things for hours! Glad you enjoyed the pics.

Hey everyone  I hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was super crazy!! :faint: Let's start the new week with a new day of the TR:

Day 7 – Thursday September 1

Our first full day at the Poly!

We wanted to go to Epcot later this day, but were really in no hurry to get there. Our mission was to enjoy the Poly and all it has to offer today!

So we slept in a bit and then headed to the CL lounge to get some breakfast. The offerings were pretty much what you would find at any hotel with a continental breakfast. Which was fine with me, I don't usually eat breakfast anyway.

We all got what we wanted and enjoyed the quiet lounge and beautiful views.

After we were all done there we went back to the room and got changed into our swimsuits and headed out to check out that awesome volcano pool!!

I'm not sure exactly what time it was when we got out there – maybe just after 10 – but there was only one table/chairs to be found so we grabbed it up! It was right by the slide entrance and ended up to be a great spot!

The kids jumped right in and were having a great time. The pool wasn't too crowded yet, so it was very nice. I had heard that the volcano pool is ALWAYS crowded and not big enough for the resort, so I was definitely worried that would be the case on a hot summer day.

Up Next: More Poly pool time & Captain Cooks lunch

Wow Shelly, those pictures are awesome! I love the pics from the top of the slide. What a view! The slide looked like a lot of fun too. We really enjoyed having one at CBR this year. A pool isn't nearly as much fun without one.

That pool looks awesome! It looks like it was a lot of fun. We didn't spend much time at the pool this trip as it was cooler in the later afternoons when we wanted to swim. I guess thinking back on it we should have spent a morning or two at the pool when it was warmer!
We had a crazy weekend too...we got our puppy!:goodvibes He is a golden retriever named Bear. He is too cute. Our other dog, Buzz, just loves him. It makes me so happy, since Buzz really misses our dog Woody who passed away recently. Bear has been very sleepy since he came home, which is so surprising! When we got Buzz he was crazy. I am betting that this is only a phase and that he will be up to no good in no time!!!
Have a good day!:)

What fun at the pool! Now tell me, what did you do with your camera after taking those pictures from the top of the slide? Did you just walk back down or take it with you on the slide?

Your younger DS is so cute - he has that smile and eyes that make you think he might just be up to something devious! Especially in the picture with the breakfast food in front of them.

Thank you!! :goodvibes It was a great view from the top of the slide!

We love the pool slides at WDW, that's why we haven't made it to a Value resort yet!

Thanks! :) Too bad you didn't get too much pool time on your trip. Maybe next time! :wizard:

Congrats on your new puppy!! :lovestruc I'm so glad Buzz loves him. I know he must miss Woody terribly. What does the puppy think of Buzz? Enjoy Bear while he is sleepy, and not trying to eat your furniture!! :upsidedow:rotfl:

We had a blast at the Poly pool! :cool1: I wasn't going down the slide that time. I just thought the views were super cool so I made a special trip up with my camera and then came back down.

Everyone loves DS10's smile!! :) He does look like he's up to something though, doesn't he?!! :confused3

 Wishes Nerd too!!!

Shelly-- I lied about not seeing Wishes at all. I somehow forgot that I saw them from afar.;);)
And I think I might have gotten teary eyed then too. :goodvibes

:cloud9:

Hi Jo - Your post made me laugh cause I did the exact same thing, said I missed Wishes on my last trip and then remembered watching them from the Ft Wilderness Beach the night we went to HDDR ............ another Duh Moment for me :rotfl:

The puppy LOVES Buzz! It is so cute...Buzz always wants to go in the puppy's pen in the house, so we let him and the puppy snuggles right up to Buzz! Bear was one in a litter of eight, so I think it is a comfort for him not to completely have no other dogs around. Hopefully they will continue to get along this well!

Great Update! I love the relaxing feel of the Poly lounge that you captured in your pics and the views from there are to die for :cloud9:

The Poly pool just looks so inviting and so natural. Your tempting me to stay there one of these days if I can convince DH about staying there.

Oh I can't wait! So excited :) I hope my little guy will go down the slide. Not sure because he has never done one before and I have heard they don't let parents go down with them. I guess time will tell ;)

Love the pictures of the Volcano pool! The CL lounge might not have the greatest offerings later in the day, but it seemed very decent at breakfast.

Thanks for the update! Every time I see pics of the marina section of the Poly resort, I make a secret wish that we get a room in the Fiji Building! I love the look of it.

Love the update, Shelly! What a view from the CL lounge - just beautiful! And I'm talking about those cinnamon rolls. What I wouldn't give for one of those right now!

Great pics of the volcano pool. The boys look like they're having the time of their life! That slide must be pretty high! From your camera view at the top, it looks like you're way up there. :scared1: If I ever get the chance to stay at the Poly, I would have to be sure and set aside at least half a day just hanging out at the resort and absorbing it all. :goodvibes

When do the boys get out of school for the holidays? I think the schools here have tomorrow and half a day Wednesday and then out for a couple of weeks. Now I have work schedules to worry about with my kids instead of school. DD has to work Christmas Day....and overnight, too. It will be her first Christmas not being home. And it makes me almost cry thinking about it. :sad1: We're thinking about possibly driving after Christmas dinner and surprising her with a plate and one of her gifts. Not sure if that will work out, but thinking about it!

I bet he loves having another dog to lay with and play with!! I think that's what was so rough on Jack when we first brought him home. Although he was from a litter of only three, he was still so scared and lonely those first few nights.

Thanks Sheila! :goodvibes Glad you are enjoying the pics. I think you should definitely stay there sometime!! :thumbsup2

You will love the Poly!! :lovestruc I hope your DS will give the slide a try. No, they won't let you go down the slide with your kids, but you can wait at the bottom for him!

Love the pictures of the Volcano pool! The CL lounge might not have the greatest offerings later in the day, but it seemed very decent at breakfast.

Thanks Mel! :) You are right -- the afternoon offerings at the lounge weren't too great, but they sure had enough in the mornings! :thumbsup2

The Figi building looks wonderful and would have awesome views for sure! :goodvibes

Yep, beautiful views of cinnamon rolls every morning! :lovestruc

The slide was great and the kids had a blast!! Although in the end they both agreed that the clown slide at BWI is better! I bet that will make all those Poly lovin' clown slide hatin' peeps cringe!! :scared1::rotfl:

Thursday is our last day of school. Off til Jan 3rd I think.

Well that stinks that your DD has to work on Christmas. I think that's a great idea to go surprise her with dinner and a gift. ::yes:: I hope you can work it out. :wizard:

Shelly, what a great way to start your day! :goodvibes Was it pretty hot already that morning?

Hey Kelli - I almost missed this post, it snuck in there on the last page!

Yes, it was a great way to start the day. :goodvibes It was pretty warm already that morning. Not unbearable or anything though. But then again we were either in the pool or sitting under the umbrella table. :rotfl:
