A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

I too used to be able to do much bigger coasters or do them over and over again when I was a teenager, but not anymore. :sad2:

Other than that, what a productive start to the morning, even before breakfast!!

Yeah, I don't know what it is but more than once makes me feel yucky.

Yep - it was a very successful morning! :thumbsup2

I think a "snowbird" trip sounds like fun as far as going for a shorter trip, this upcoming trip in March(5nights) will be the shortest we ever took when flying, I can certainly understand how the cost to fly for a family of 4 can make or break the budget for a short trip we have done 5 day trips before when we drove and quite honestly the first 3 days of any trip for me at least seem to last and last and then it seems like time speeds up and whether we have stayed for 5, 7 or 10 days the rest of the trip just flys by. Our last trip was 7 days and it did seem to go by a bit slower since we took our time more going back to the resort each afternoon so that each day almost seemed like 2 days, if that makes any sense.
I did do a weekend trip in January, 2006 Fri, Sat and Sunday, left around noon on Monday(resort day) and it was totally worth the airfare to getaway during the winter.

I think if it were just 2 of us a short trip would be a good deal, but for 4 there's just no way around the park tix price and the airfare. :scared1:

And you are right -- the first few days are so great and seem to go on and on and then before you know it the rest of the days flew by and you wonder how it is that you are on the airplane back home...

All caught up! Sorry you were disappointed with Via Napoli - I hope my family enjoys it in November because I really liked it when I went with my friend last fall.

I love the picture of you & your DH walking up Main Street holding hands. :goodvibes Looks like day 2 was off to a great start. :thumbsup2

I hope your family enjoys VN!! :wizard:

Thanks, it was a great morning. :goodvibes

It is WAY too cold to go outside today. So, I could really use a taste of Disney to inspire me to pack. :goodvibes

popcorn::

No pressure

It sure is. 43 and raining here. Thank goodness they cancelled DS's soccer game. It seriously feels like it could snow.

I wasn't going to do an update today, but since you asked so nicely and need inspired to pack I'll see what I can do!!! :rotfl:

We actually have a 4 night getaway booked for Jan (the kids have a 4 day weekend for MLK bday). But we are dvc members so we don't have to pay for the room and we have annual passes this year. So we really only had to pay for airfare and we got 2 1/2 of the tickets free with credit card points! So excited! We are staying at Wilderness Lodge for the first time. And it is a lso a suprise for the kids! They have no idea and won't know until we get to the airport.
We did Via Nappoli last year and the pizza was pretty good, but the calamari was the best i've ever had! It was expensive though! We didn't have a meal plan and a large pizza is around $40!

Wow that will be an awesome trip, especially with all the good deals you are getting! :thumbsup2

Yep, the VN pizza is very expensive. I'd rather get a $20 pizza over on the BW, it's much better too!!

When I left off we were heading to the Crystal Palace for our 10:20am breakfast ADR.

Tigger was nearing the table, so we waited for him before we went up for any food.

Pretty soon Piglet came over.

Then it was time for the character parade. DS12 joined in! DS9 was being a grump and would go.

We were about finished and Eeyore was getting close, so we waited on him.

Pooh was still on the other side of the room and we had been in there for an hour at this point, so we decided not to wait. So we finished up, paid our bill, and headed out.

Service and food and characters were awesome as always at Crystal Palace.

Total Bill: $87.29
Rating: 9 out of 10

Up Next: Adventureland is calling!

Aw, your DS9 is going to be DS10 tomorrow! I know it is happy/sad all rolled into one. But no matter how old he is, he'll still be your baby. Mine are in their 20's, but I still think of them as my babies. How does he want to celebrate his day?

I can't believe how cold it is up where you are! I wish we were a little cooler down here. We've had a beautiful weekend, but a little cooler would be even better.

Boy, you were quick with that update! :thumbsup2 I just love the way CP looks. I think I'd go there even if the food wasn't good. We've never been for breakfast, and I think I would like that the best. Everything on your plates looks delicious! (better be good, at $80+)

Love the pics of Tigger with the boys! Now you see 'em, now you don't!

Yep - they are still my babies, whether they want to be or not!! :rotfl:

We wanted a new DSi for his birthday, so we went and got that yesterday. And went to Red Lobster for dinner. And then to Burger King for lunch today. And I made him a cake and we will have that a little later!

It is freezing up here!!!! :sad2:

It is really nice in the CP. :goodvibes Always so bright and cheery and fun!

But yes, expensive. :scared1: We made sure to go there during the part of the trip we had the DDP! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update Shelly!

I have never been to CP for breakfast, just once for lunch - but it was great! I love how much variety they have there. And you're right, the atmosphere is always bright and cheery in there. :cool1:

And look how full DS9's plate is!! I bet you were so proud of him! :rotfl:

I started packing today. Since it's freezing outside we have been cleaning and doing laundry and it's been going straight into the bag. We are doing carry on only this trip, so I am trying to be smart about how much I bring.

I bought a soft sided bag with wheels from the Sunglasses and Totes store at Tanger that I am hoping will fit once it's full. It's my first time using it to fly and it looks a little big, so I hope they don't make me check it

I love Crystal Palace, Pooh and friends are my personal favorites. I still have my very well loved stuffed Pooh that I got when I was one and lets just say that was a LONG time ago. We haven't been in several years because my son got "too cool" for characters but he's outgrown that embarrased about everything phase now so looking forward to going back to CP next visit. We won't be going back till 2013 (unfortunately) as I'm graduating from Nurse Practitioner school in Dec '12 and my son (gasp) will be graduating from high school in May '13 so we'll have a big graduation bash trip.

I think any meal at CP is a good one! :thumbsup2

Well woohoo for starting to pack!!! :cool1: I would have been done weeks ago, but whatever......:rolleyes1:rotfl:

Ooohh I just love bags from Sunglasses & Totes! Mine was stuffed full and they didn't make me check it.

Luckily DS12 is only embarrassed of those types of things around here. For now! I guess he figures he doesn't know anyone at WDW so he doesn't need to act cool. :cool2:

That is going to be an awesome graduation trip for you and your DS!! :cool1:

Happy 10th B-Day to your DS!

Love the update and pics of Crystal Palace. It is the one Character Meal I can take DH to without any complaints, in fact when I was planning the trip with my DS and his wife in 2010 he requested CP cause he loves Pooh, Tigger and Piglet and he was 40 at the time.

I think it is great that your DS can get "into" Disney while there, mine were always the same way , it may not have been cool at home to do some of the things or hug a character but they were fine with it while at Disney. I have read some reports where the older kids in a family pout the entire trip and I think that would just drive me totally crazy.

Is your bag the one with the wheels, and has an extendable handle?

 I know you would have been done packing forever ago. I am usually in that club too. This is the longest I have ever waited to pack. I normally would have started weeks ago, I guess I just didn't want to over do it. :confused3

And I feel super unprepared for this trip. We're kind of flying by the seat of our pants this time.

Wow, I got behind quick over here!

First off, Happy Birthday to your DS!!! I can't believe you now have 2 double digit boys!

CP looks really yummy! We enjoyed eating there too. That breakfast pizza is good stuff.

I LOVE that picture of Tigger grabbing both your boys by the head! :rotfl: That is just too darn cute!

Oh, I've been remiss in my DISing lately! My own TR is suffering - I have like one day left to do, and it's been forever. You'll probably finish yours before I finish my March trip!
I saw the VISA offer for Jan/feb and want to go so badly! But we have DVC so the room offers don't do much for us anymore. I wish they had good ticket discounts instead! Like BOGO Free! HA!

Happy birthday to your DS! - you need to update your signature now!

Those short trips are tough, but totally worth it!! We have rarely stayed more than 6 nights ever! A lot of times, 4 or 5 days is enough to get us through until the next time. But we don't always fly either. So we're spending two to three days driving. I'd rather fly. Why do things have to be so darn expensive???

I love Crystal Palace! The food is so yummy. Breakfast is the only meal we haven't eaten there yet. It has to go on the list! :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday to your son, Shelly! :goodvibes

Yep - CP is great no matter what age you are!!

I know what you mean, I have seen older kids acting all sulky at WDW and it drives me crazy!! :headache:

Yep - it has wheels & the extendable handle. It's black with pink polka dots! I love it!

I wondered what was up with you....You better not be turning to the dark side of the procrastinators!!! :scared1:

:cake::bday:party:Happy Birthday to your baby!!!!!

Thanks Shawna!! :)

Thanks -- Just updated it! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I tried and tried but I just couldn't get a Jan/Feb trip to work out. Everything is just so dang expensive. :headache:
