To ds10! My youngest will be 10 soon too, but before that my oldest ds will be 13.

Crystal Palace breakfast is the only buffet we go to. Ds loves the strawberries with whipped cream and the breakfast pizza so its always his pick even though they are way past the Winnie the Pooh characters. Don't believe the wait staff when they tell you the orange juice is fresh squeezed from a nearby farm, I saw him pouring minute maid into the carafe!:rotfl2:

Seeing the Magic Kingdom so empty makes me smile. I love the end of August crowds!

Thanks for the awesome birthday banner!! :cool1:

Luckily my DS12 won't be 13 until next spring. I am totally not ready for a teenager. :upsidedow

My kids pick CP for the buffet too, not the characters. But at least they humored me and had their pictures taken with them!

That is funny about the orange juice. :rotfl:

The late August crowds (or lack thereof) were great! :yay:

Thank you for the birthday wishes - happy birthday to your son! 10 years old is amazing!!!

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner. I posted up pictures on the Mayers thread here: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=42844137&postcount=1229

Thanks Sea! :goodvibes

How was your birthday dinner?

Happy Birthday Sea and WDW!!!! :cool1:

My baby turns 10 tomorrow.

Great update on the CP breakfast. I agree, that is a really good picture of your boys and Tigger, it needs to be printed, framed and displayed.

Looks like a great time and a yummy dinner you had for your birthday! :cool1:

Thanks -- we got lots of great pics of the kids on this trip!! :thumbsup2

We hadn't originally planned to stay too long after our breakfast at Crystal Palace because of the heat. But MK was so slow that day and we were dealing well with the heat, so we decided to keep going.

So off to the POTC we went! And there was no wait!!

We enjoyed a refreshing ride on the POTC and even got a little wet. We stopped for a quick sword battle and then were on our way to Frontierland.

Yes, more construction. :sad2:

We (DS12 and I) thought about Splash Mtn, but is had a 20 minute wait and BTMRR didn't have a wait at all so we decided on that instead! DS10 decided to join us. DH and Hernia Harry decided to sit this one out.

DS12 enjoyed it very much, but DS10 didn't think it was so great. :confused3

After big thunder we met back up with DH and we went over to the HM.

DS12 doesn't care for the HM, so him and DH walked around and went in a few shops in Liberty Square while DS10 and I took a ride on HM.

DS10 just loves that ride. And there are no surprises when riding it with him. He narrates the whole way through and tells you what is coming up next!:rotfl:

After that we found DH & DS12 and we all decided we had enough for the day and were going to shop our way down main street and then head back to CBR for a bit.

But, not before stopping at Casey's Corner for some of those famous mini corndogs!! The kids just love them. And even though we were all still very full from our late breakfast we had to stop and get some for them because Casey's was closing for a renovation in a few days and we wouldn't be back to MK before then.

Continued in next post.....

Continued.....

We shopped our way down Main Street and made a few little purchases and talked with a very nice CM (an older lady) who was so sweet and telling us all about her recent (first ever) Disney Cruise. :)

DH bought these sunglasses at some point.

When we came out at the end of Main Street (or I guess maybe it's the beginning of Main Street) there was a parade going on. So we stopped there at the corner and watched. :goodvibes

Then we headed out to the bus stop. On our way there it started raining a bit. A CBR bus pulled up a few minutes later and we were back to CBR in about 10 minutes.

Up Next: CBR and DTD

Shelly- your kids are a riot. I love the pic of them on Big Thunder! Your DS12 looks like he is loving every minute of it, DS10 on the other hand...not so much!:rotfl: And too funny about DS10 narrating his way through Haunted Mansion!
Hope all is well with you...how is DH feeling? We had a major storm last night. We live on the North Shore of MA, and we had a rain/hail/thunder/lightning storm come in at 5AM and it lasted until 7AM. Our town was on the news...we got 5.8 inches of rain in 2 hours!:scared1: They cancelled school (including my college girls who go to school in the next town over). Needless to say, we stayed in all day. It was nice having the day off!

Shelly, your oldest son is so much like my oldest daughter Morghan. Dare devil! :scared1: And my younger daughter Mykenah is just like your younger son; not a fan of the thrill rides. Isn't it crazy how different siblings can be? Great update! :thumbsup2 I'm glad you were having fun in MK with low crowds. That is the BEST!!!

Shelly...was just thinking about you..I just did a bid on ebay *and WON* for a batch of pins to trade on the next trip...under $20 for a mix of 25 pins!!! with freeeee shipping! They should be here within 10 days:banana:
You are the only person I know who has done this for pins!! LOL...I knew you would celebrate with me!!!

ME TOO! ME TOO! I've done that too!! Congratulations Shawna!!

Don't believe the wait staff when they tell you the orange juice is fresh squeezed from a nearby farm, I saw him pouring minute maid into the carafe!:rotfl2:
:lmao:That made me LOL!

Shelly - you are so lucky! You get to go on all the rides because at least one of your kids likes every one you want to go on! I wish I could handle them better like I used to, but I'd be going on many of them by myself.
"Hernia Harry sat out"...

What is it about MK? You go in thinking you'll just ride a couple of things or eat one meal and then you get drawn in and can't seem to get out of there. :confused3 I guess it's the magic! :wizard:

You guys seemed to handle the heat very well so far. Are you convinced that you can go again at that time of year?

Since your kids love the corn dogs nuggets, have you ever tried the ones at Walmart? They are State Fair brand in a blue box (frozen foods dept.). I served them one night at VBS this summer and the kids went nuts over them. I've never had the ones at Casey's so I can't compare them for you, but I think they would be worth a try anyway.

HM and BTMR are my DS's absolute favs.!!!! They want to ride them over and over. When we rode BTMR on our trip first thing in the morning we rode back to back b/c nobody was waiting!!! Who said it's crowded in August!? We never waited for rides. we rode HM a few times that day too. It was great.
I need to make a new ticker!!! We booked our flights today for April vacation. So excited!!!! Had to share. :)
Deb

I saw that! It was so cool!

Uh, Shelly's going to have a stroke if you don't finish packing soon!

:lmao:

OK. I guess I'll do it - for Shelly

I don't know what my problem is this time. :confused3 I am usually packed, with park touring plans, least crowded park charts, entertainment schedule, park hours, weather forecast etc etc etc ... But this time. Nothing. Nada.

Maybe it's because it's such a short trip that I am just winging it, or maybe it's because the reservation is under our friends names so I feel like "it's all taken care of". IDK. But, all I know is that in the next 24 hours I have A LOT of work to do :faint:

My oldest DS turned 13 a month ago! I can't believe I'm old enough to have a teenager.
We haven't done CP in about 10 years, we are doing Chef Mickeys for breakfast on our upcoming trip (we've only ever done it for dinner).
I can't believe your whole family doesn't do HM! That is our favorite!
