Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

Three of the turret rooms have MK views and three face the monorail. I've been in all but one of them. Obviously prefer the MK facing ones but will happily take the monorail facing ones. Love those rooms for the extra space. I gladly give up the balcony for the extra room and walk in closet. Never had one on the 2nd floor. Any time they put me there I asked to be moved even if its not a deluxe room.

Is there a specific room request you put in to get a turret room? I’d love some tips on how to get one. I booked a resort view room for our trip next month instead of a king deluxe just so we wouldn’t be stuck on the 2nd floor again.

Just got back from 4 nights at AKL Club level - happy with the service and offerings. Looking forward probably won’t again anytime soon as we just didn’t use the offerings enough to make it worthwhile for us. That being said happy to answer any questions
Is the Club level lounge "locked" at AKL? I am totally curious as SIL just posted that they had breakfast in the "VIP lounge" (he is a Disney newbie, this is trip #3 for him). I know DD rented points to stay at AKL savanna view... so how did they get breakfast at the lounge??? Not only am I curious, I'm JEALOUS. In 27 years traveling to Disney, the biggest upgrade I've ever received was being moved from a standard room at ASMusic to a preferred room!

If they were staying on DVC points, it seems it would be extremely rare they would have access to the club lounge if staying in a 'regular' savanna view room, and not one of the several DVC CL rooms on the 6th floor. The CL should only be available to those DVC rooms on the 6th floor at Jambo, plus the cash CL rooms offered to guests at Jambo. I suppose if someone has a real issue with a room or reservation, a cast member could "throw in" access to the CL. But again, that would be very rare. The CL is usually busy enough at certain times of the day, like breakfast! So maybe their rental was for CL?? Maybe the "VIP lounge" was something else? If not, good for them! Hope they enjoy!

Yes it was tightly controlled - if fact one morning I walked past the DVC rooms to the 6th floor stairwell facing the Savannah (thinking there may be a viewing area there) and I was able to exit through to get to the stairs but not back in - locked out. Had to take stairs down to 5th floor and elevator (magic band only) back to the 6th floor. I’m guessing that the lounge front desk can see all elevator taps to see who is coming.

I was wrong, she was using a BounceBack rate for a savanna view room... but I just heard from her and YES they were upgraded to a savanna view club level suite! This happened on their honeymoon also. They were booked standard at Coronado and ended up in the Tower and could see the fireworks from their room. Happy for them, but MAN am I jealous!

BREAKING NEWS! I am in a Grand Floridian group on Facebook, and someone just posted a video from GF RPC - the CMs at the club served them afternoon tea. She posted pics and a video, and it looks ---- real. No scones, but tea, cakes, cookies. Holy shizzle!! Now seeing if I can change my reservation for next week.

ETA: OK, ya'll - I have another great CM who is changing all my ressies for next week right now. Going from CR - king club level for 2 nights + CR 1-bedroom TPV for 2 nights to GF resort view club level (AP rate) for 2 nights + GF 1-bedroom suite CL access (BB) for 2 nights. And it was cheaper! Guess I'll be hoofin' it back to my room in the rain, but #worth it! Looking forward to reporting back.

She didn’t say, but it is clearly not dessert time!!!

Eta - wdw CL NIGHTTIME dessert time, I mean. I think I speak for all of us when I say that dessert time should be 24 hrs a day.

Eta 2: she said it was 2:15 one day and 3-4 ish another, and that cms were approaching certain individuals and asking if they wanted to test a new offering!

I have been too lazy to go to the restaurant threads with a review. However since it’s a club level substitution type thing here it goes.

Dd30 and I had the Geo82 Fireworks package booked for 7/28. We asked and told check in starts 7:45 p so we came back to the podium then. They had us all wait in a lobby. About 5 groups of us were there early, we did not get seated until 8:10. The server brought water and offered champagne.

He explained you get 1 tower of food and one plate of desserts.

You can have champagne, a margarita or an old fashioned , as many as you want as part of the package . However you only get them until 9P when we bring desserts and ll service stops.

Just wow! We have done so many add on events over the years but 45 mins basically to order drinks ? Kinda ridiculous for the $$$$!

The lounge was fun for my Epcot loving DD who was proposed to in front of back in 21. The champagne glass looks like the ball and the ice cube in her drink had that shape too!

The food was yummy and well presented. The desserts were also good. Dd was smart and every time he served a drink she ordered another. Remember she just had her baby 3 months ago and her first visit back to the World with alcohol back on her menu. 😅😂

I’ve was nice but the music Disney keeps trying just doesn’t have the feeling in it like the old stuff. Wishes for example never gets old.

Here are a few pics.

For the price we won’t go back. Should have been drinks at least until 10. Kinda boring after the fireworks. You were done with food and no more drinks given. I can’t remember if you could buy more? However after the hefty price tag I wasn’t spending more. We took ride share to poly and grabbed free wine and desserts instead and watched HEAfrom our patio. This is great news! But…I need those scones. :guilty:

I will inquire if I’m lucky enough to encounter this….

Thanks! We’re there September 7-11, so I’m very excited for any info. I wonder if they’re prepping for a return of the Tea Room? I also hope it’s not just a Sunday thing. I’m really thinking too much about this, right? :rotfl2:

It definitely isn’t, she mentioned Fri and Sat! And hey, you’re talking to someone who literally closed FB and called WDW immediately!!!
