A DISmeet here..a DISmeet there..Our August Southern Tour- Final Posts - #544!

I am really enjoying your TR and all the pictures. I don't comment often but always reading! I also really enjoyed meeting you and only wish we would have had more time together but enjoyed the little we had!

Hi Jessica, thanks for stopping by! it was great meeting you too!

I posted the other day from my phone, but don't see the post.

Great update. Those croissants look very inviting!

:confused3 boards were a bit wonky for me the other day! yes they are :goodvibes

Great update. How sweet that you are getting to share with Megan all of the places you enjoyed with Jim. Such a beautiful view from the restaurant.

I really need to plan a visit to Charleston for next summer or maybe Spring break. It is only a few hours from my parents house and they offer free babysitting. ;)

Tour day!!!

we got up and headed downstairs for a yummy breakfast...walked across the street to catch the free trolley and headed down to the market!

love this place, filled with lots of great handmade items!

we picked up a couple gifts as we walked through and did lots of "window" shopping along the way!

next up - carriage ride! was a beautiful morning and not to humid yet so we headed over for our ride!

here's our horse - Charlie

IMG_0395.jpg

and our driver and guide - Sami & David, they were great!

after our ride we walked around a bit more, stopped at a deli for lunch, then round the trolley around town a bit....were planning on going to a museum but was closed for an event, so went back to our room to cool off for a few hours, it was getting way to warm and humid for these WA girls!

we went for a walk and found an Italian restaurant for dinner around the corner from our hotel, which was really good! then across the street was a cupcake place, decided to have an early night and headed back to our room.

Tuesday - got up and packed, headed down for breakfast and then drove over to Folley Beach....where we spent many a Sunday when we lived here..

our message for Jim

after leaving the beach we stopped for lunch at Chik-a-fila...was yummy! hadn't had one in years!

and then headed over to see the golf course Jim built!

we arrived at the golf course and talked to one of the managers and explained who we were and if we could go take a couple photos, he was so kind and let us take a golf cart out!

this course was a swamp when we arrived in Oct 1999 (I was 4 months pregnant with Megan) many trucks and equipment got stuck in the muck, was an adventure in building to say the least!

was wonderful to see something Jim had a hand in creating...we have only been back to a couple of courses he has worked on, since we always left before they were opened for play!

we then got on the road to head to Judy's in Charlotte! drive went pretty fast with no traffic so were ahead of schedule...Judy wouldn't be home until after 7...got to Rock Hill and found a mall and then had dinner at the Cracker Barrel....ran into a bit of traffic going through Charlotte, but was still a bit early, got up to Judy's exit and saw an Ikea, killed a bit of time there and then finally got to Judy's!

was so great to see them again, they welcomed us with lots of hugs! the girls headed up to play and we did lots of talking! I didn't take to many photos of our time!

Wednesday -

went to a dr appt for the kids and hung out at the house

IMG_0464.jpg

IMG_0467.jpg

Thursday - Andrea and Alexis arrived and we hung out - no photos if this day

know we did stay up late most nights talking!

Friday - exciting news, we got to hear Rachel play at her Rock Camp that afternoon and we were having our DISmeet that night at Judy's with Marianne, Liz, D & Beth,,,Judy called them when we found out about the show and they met us there.

here's a photo of the kids waiting for the show to start!

she did a wonderful job and we enjoyed the concert!
after the show we drove back to Judy's for pizza and hanging out with the ladies! ( Pete and the boys left) we exchanged gifts, I made note cards for everyone in their fav colors

Megan got this from D

Andrea made us luggage tags and D made us lanyards & purses on them that Beth helped with the embroidary!

IMG_0483.jpg

we then got a private concert with Rachel and Pete

IMG_0480.jpg

and Lisa sang us - no photo of that :sad2:

it was fun getting to meet all the ladies ( and seeing Liz again) we said our goodnights (Andrea and I would be seeing them again in the morning for the shopping trip) helped get the house cleaned up and Judy, Andrea and I talked a bit, before I headed up to bed with Megan - she was pretty tired from not getting enough rest and asked to sleep with me the rest of the trip.

Saturday - Andrea and I headed out early to meet up for the DIS shopping trip - Judy stayed home since her broken toe wasn't feeling to good and not up to all the walking.

since I'm not a sewing girl, just went along for the ride (well I drove) to be able to meet everyone...we started off at a thread store which was pretty cool and then over to Mary Jo's which was HUGE and lots of pretty fabrics!

I only took a couple photos - group shot, was fun meeting everyone!

IMG_0484.jpg

and Andrea, D, beth and myself

IMG_0485.jpg

Andrea and I said our good-byes and headed back to Judy's to hang for the rest of the day!
it was nice to be able to talk and be with our friends!
Judy made some yummy fried chicken for dinner and kept kicking us out of the kitchen!

Sunday- Andrea and Alexis headed home and we stayed in for the day, was a relaxing day! Megan wasn't feeling to well and Bandit sensed it

IMG_0468.jpg

and was doing his "job" in making her feel better ( after we got home found out she had a bad ear infection)

Monday - we were heading home :sad1: Said our good-byes to the boys and then headed out for Lisa's Dr appt

the girls

we went to lunch afterwards before saying our good-byes and final hugs...

trip home was good and happy to be home after an eighteen day whirlwind trip!

we had so much fun seeing old friends, meeting new DIS friends, visiting our old stomping grounds and making new memories to add to our old ones.

thank you for all the hospitality shown to us Shawna, Bruce, Liz, Judy and Pete!
was fun meeting the other ladies, Andrea, D, Beth, Marianne, Nini and so many more during the shopping trip...our love of Disney had brought you into our lives and am grateful for your friendship and support!

Great update. Sad it's the end of a wonderful adventure. Very touching the message in the sand and that you were able to go to the golf course. Beautiful pics of the tour. Anakin saw the pics of the girls together and he was all excited. He wants to know when he will see them all again. So glad you and Megan got to take your 18 day vacation. Looks like lots of fun and healing.

SOOOOOOOO :guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty::guilty: HOW did I not know you finished your trip report (and you posted that hideous photo of me at the doctor)! We were having too much fun to take pics, that time just flew by and we loved having you all here! Do you know my toe STILL hurts sometimes (I thought I had re-broken it, I think I was just walking too much). I am sorry I have been so MIA on here, you KNOW it isn't because I don't love you! So wish we could have afforded to go to Charleston with ya'll...Let's hit Myrtle Beach, want to come back??? popcorn::popcorn::popcorn::

you've been a bit busy of late Judy...figured you would come visit when you had time....I love our photo, will remove it if you want!

Oh, what a wonderful update. This is a great way to relive your trip and remember all your adventures. I will have to reread this on my computer so I can see the pictures better.

I'm finally caught up again. I love the pictures at Jim's golf course and the beach. So glad you had a great visit with Judy and her family and what a big DIS meet...lucky you. I'm sorry Megan wasn't feeling well towards the end of it.

Loved the final update... Your messages to Jim always make me teary eyed - I just can't imagine... yet it is so romantic - I don't know how else to describe it.

Loved all the pictures of everyone in Charlotte - that was such a fun trip! And so neat to meet all my Dis friends!

I can't believe your TR is over already... You know - it's only about a year until your next Disney trip - I think you need a PTR... :)
