Day 5: Wednesday, June 24 *continued*
We left off finishing One Mans Dream
After that, it was about 6:30 p.m., so we headed over to get in line for the Finale show of the American Idol Experience, which started at 7. We made our way to the holding area, and oh my gosh was it packed! We were all standing around looking at t.v. screens, watching stuff like hilarious moments from auditions of previous American Idol seasons. Then, this guy comes out to get us excited and hyped for the show. There was a camera man following him and taping the crowd, which was displayed on the screens. He had us start chanting Katie! Katie! Katie! for the camera guy because Katie was one of the contestants. Then, he found a little boy and had him say Katie, youre my American Idol and blow her a kiss to the camera guy. It was so cute!
Then, Justin from American Idol Season 1 came on and it was like a live show and they were talking to us. It was pretty cool. Soon
the doors opened and everyone followed the herd inside. That part is definitely something I wish they could fix and make a better system. I hate fighting through crowds and making sure our family stays together because people seriously will run you over.
The stage looked just like the real thing! Youll see a pic of it during another one of our DHS days..The hype man came back out after everyone was seated and started getting us excited again. We had to do crazy moves with him and then he came down to the front row to show us how to rock the vote as he said. The camera guy was following him around so we could see him on the big screens as well. He asked this lady to stand up so he could use her chair and then started talking to the old lady next to him to help demonstrate how to vote. He was hilarious. At the end of the demonstration, he asked the old lady to pound it and she looked at him then started pounding the voting buttons! HAHA. Everyone started laughing. The hype man just looked at the camera with this hilarious face. He definitely knew how to entertain us while we waited for the show to start.
He went backstage and this Ryan Seacrest host-wanna-be came out to start the show. He also introduced the judges. As youll found out from our other DHS days, the hype man, Ryan Seacrest, and judges are not always the same people. The ones we had for the Finale were hilarious.
For the Finale, there were 7 contestants. They were all pretty good, but this one lady sang Independence Day, which just got the crowd going because its a patriotic song. Before some of the contestants went, different American Idol winners would come on the screen to give them tips. When Katie came out, they had to show us chanting Katie! Katie! Katie! and then that little boy who said she was his American Idol. It was so cute. Everyone went Awwwww! Can you guess who won? The lady who sang Independence Day! Now she has the golden ticket to actually audition in front of Randy, Simon, and Paula
oh yeah and now Kara too. Dont get me started on that! Haha.
Overall, the American Idol Experience was a ton of fun and definitely for people who are fans of the show. As youll see in our other DHS days, Ive become addicted to it! Ha.
After that, B/F and I headed over to the Animation studio. I had read about and seen pictures of the drawing part from
Lynns TR and HAD to check it out. It was only a 5 minute wait until the next show so we got in line. After the movie part with Mushu, we walked around and played with the different computer/art stuff. Then, we got in line for the drawing part
We stood there for awhile and this lady comes over to her family and says that a CM said the wait is 60 minutes until the next one because the cut-off was way at the front of the line.
We decided not to stand in line that long for that, so we started walking towards the gift shop. Along the way, theres displays of how a movie was made. Last year, it was Peter Pan. This year, it was Snow White. It was so interesting and neat to see how the movie began to what it is now.
We met up with Mom, Dad, and Sis in the gift shop to look around. They have some of the most beautiful pictures in there! I wish I had tons of money to buy them! Haha.
As we were walking out, we saw the big wall for Playhouse Disney, which had all the characters that my little guy loves, so we took a picture for him:
Then, we started walking towards the hat.
We realized that EMHs were about to begin, which was 9 p.m. to midnight. So, we hung out around the hat to decide what to do next.
This was so cool
It was a light that was spinning around on the ground:
Okay, now brace yourself
Please dont ask me why they were doing this:
I told Sis to jump with me and Mom was supposed to catch us in the air
Yeah that didnt work out so well:
We decided just to get in line for TSM. The wait said 90 minutes, but we didnt think it looked that long. We started weaving outside.
Then, the lamp from the beginning of all the Pixar films came out and danced to a song:
And then this was when the line got real interesting
First, this lady was trying to get in line with her family..Its EMHs now, so you have to show the CM your room key to prove youre a Resort guest. They evidently thought that only one person in the group has to have a room key to show them, which is wrong. So the mom and the kids were not being allowed in line because only the Dad had a room key. She started yelling hardcore at the CM, who called over another CM. She was being so mean and cussing and stuff and the CMs did a great job of keeping their cool and explaining to her the rules. We had to go inside the building before we could see what happened. Evidently, they let her in line because we eventually saw her way behind us in line.
THEN, this lady decides shes going to breast-feed her baby with her breast just hanging out. Yeah..it was the most awkward line ever to weave past her every time. Haha.
So, we get into the building and theres no weaving!
My favorite part of the line:
Dad and Sis by the barrel of monkeys:
We made our way to Mr. Potato Head:
Hes hilarious and was singing as we went by.
We finally got on the ride and the wait time was wrong! We only waited 40 minutes! Woo! It went by fast too with all the craziness of the two ladies. Haha.
I was bound and determined to beat B/F at this, but I had no such luck! Dang it! Im going to win sometime! At either TSM or Buzz. Its going to happen!
Then, we headed over to the GMR, which was another 40 minute wait, but we were okay with that. As we got to the room where you watch the movies, I began to annoy Sis..I know the words to every movie scene that plays. And when it was the singing and dancing ones, Id do it too. Haha. We eventually got on, and our driver was from British Columbia! She had the cutest accent ever.
Then, we headed to ToT:
The wait said 40 minutes, but it was really 25! I was praying again that it wouldnt break down while we were on it. We were also entertained by a guy who videotaped the whole ride with his camera! We were hoping he had a good grip on it!
By the time we got off, it was 12:15 a.m., so we headed to our bus and made our way back to OKW. This was such a fun and relaxing day. We did whatever, whenever and didnt have an exact plan that we had to follow.
~Up next: Were jinxed again!
