A Different kind of Trip Report -- My DD's wedding (More Pix added Post #152)

I have really enjoyed the wedding report and photos. Your daughter was absolutely radiant and beautiful. Best wishes to the bride and groom. And thank you for sharing your precious moments.

Here is an update on our unfortunate incident on the Friday after the wedding: (post #83 for those who may not know)

I received a call at 5:00PM on Christmas Eve from DVC Member Satisfaction. They indicted that they were speaking with the Contemporary/BLT and also mentioned that my daughter's wedding planner was strongly following up on our behalf and trying to get the appropriate people to "step-up".

As it stands right now, they have offered to remake the top cake tier, the castle top, and replace the rhinestone cuffs. Due to the holiday, it may take a few days/weeks. Sounded like they were willing to ship them all to her in CT.

I told them I would follow up with them on Monday as to whether we are satisfied with both the response and the resolution.

I will keep eveyone posted.

Thanks for the update! Odd that they would call at that time!!! Maybe they didn't expect you to be home.:confused3

I thought it was an odd time, too. They indicated that they were in conversations with the Contemporary and did not want to call me back before they had gotten all of the info.

On a totally unrelated note, but a part of our trip, was my experience upgrading my UT tix to a DVC annual pass. I had purchased a 7-day no park hopper no expiration ticket from UT at the pre-August-price increase price.
We used it on Monday the 13th, then after we left DHS, we went to Guest Relations to upgrade it. I gave the cast member the tix and said that I wanted to upgrade the 3 of them to a DVC annual pass.... she said that it would be $210.... I had calculated about $31.

She said you bought a discounted ticket for $335, and that is what it was worth. I told her that it was my understanding that once it is used, it is valued at the then-current gate price, and that the difference was about $10 per ticket. She looked puzzled, and a bit snippy, but said to hold on and she disappeared. The following phases were uttered in the next few minutes...

"....Why didn't you just buy an annual pass to begin with....."
".... Do you know a cast member?......."
"..... That is quite a loophole you have found....."
".....That is not what the discounted tickets are for.. to save $65 on an annual pass..."
"..... I shouldn't do this, but I will this one time....."

I remained silent throught her snipping ... and paid $30.78 to upgrade the three tix. I was going to purchase the TIW card also, but decided to do it somewhere else. I didn't need to suffer through another transaction there.

Moral of the story ---- know what the deal is and EXACTLY how much more you should pay to upgrade.

I'm guessing that we just have to remember that CMs are people and people respond differently. We've done "this deal" twice. Once changed it in Animal Kingdom and the last time was in Epcot. Both times, the CMs just did it, the Epcot CM was new and had to ask but no problems and both times ended with "Have a Magical Day".

I sure hope everything gets taken care of and your DD is beautiful!

Great photos Crystallize and you & your DH are a beautiful couple !

Thanks so much to you and your proud father for sharing your wedding

That's one heck of a photo!

Disney could use that in a print ad. I think they have a section on the official Disney blogs for guest pics, you should submit those.

:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for posting the pics. My first trip to Disney was at age 34, for my 8th wedding anniversary. It was so fantastic we have been back every year since. Just rmember, marriage is like a spend the night party with your best friend...only they don't have to leave the next morning.

Wishing you both many, many happy years together.

The nice guy that I am I would ha politely said

"After all you have said I now understand why you are standinding there and are not part of management. Someone must have been charitable when they hired you."

That definitely would have burst her bubble.

LOL, I always think of comebacks like that AFTER the fact!

:surfweb: Thanks so much for sharing your DD's special day with us here on the disboard, and being a fellow dvc'r we can relate, we to have a DD and are looking forward to her one day being a Disney Bride! Your Daughter looks beautiful in the pictures you've shared thus far, can't wait to hear and see more! Congratulations and Best Wishes! :bride: :dance3:

First off Congratulations on such a beautiful wedding!! Your DD made a beautiful bride. The pictures are so beautiful, all of them!!!! We especially loved the fireworks in the background picture, the Mickey Ice Cream bars pic, the holiday Mickey and Minnie and the bride peaking over the bouquet!!

What happened at BLT was unaccapetable and I'm just horrified for you when I read it. I'm glad to hear they are starting to make amends, but there should have been much more swift action right why you were at the resort. So sad to hear that didn't occur.

Thank you for the special report, our DD just 10yo has already announced she wants to get married at WDW someday!!! It does look like so much fun!

What "sticky" and the price on UT for a 7 day is $394 so where is the savings? :confused3
