A different front loading washer question

We've had our front loader a little over two years, no problems. But lately if I haven't used it in a couple of days it starts to give off a really musty, stale smell. I've tried running through some loads with baking soda added to the wash, and I always leave the door open when not in use. Yet the smell continues! Any ideas????

I have read that the gasket (rubber around the opening) can hold mildew. I periodically clean it with a Clorox wipe up and dry it thoroughly. I, too, leave my door open after every wash.

This was happening to me a while back. So much so, that even my clean washing was starting to smell!!! Anyhow, I took out the detergent drawer and completely de-scummed (is that a word??) the inside. Had to use straws to get in all the holes where the water goes in and out, and what a mess.. The holes were full of thick, black mould!! Lovely  Now, no more smelly washing :teeth: Just an idea.

I have the same problem and I have only had mine about 6 months. I always seem to have a load going so the door doesn't get left open much. I however had a repairman out (My front loader shakes the whole house as well as walks across the floor when it is spinning) he said to run a cycle of white with bleach and make sure wipe off the seal and door really good.
