A Daily Lesson in Parenting and Manners: A TR by a real life Wicked Stepmom!

Sorry this took so long everyone!! It's been one of those weeks...and a half!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

And we talked about if Mickey and Goofy ever went camping any more in their camper...and if Donald Duck ever got time outs for talking fresh to his mom...we both figured that YES Donald probably had some issues with having a fresh mouth and getting time outs for it.

(I had never heard the term "fresh" in regards to being a smart mouth until I moved to New Jersey...it always makes me laugh...which isn't helpful when you are trying to appear stern! My mom always said "Don't be ugly..." or "Don't you SASS me!" which people over here don't really get...and my grandmother in Ireland always sent her kids to stand on "the bold mat" for being...well bold...my granddad told his kids that he was going to send them to the "Bold children's Island"...:rotfl2: isn't it fascinating how many different ways there are to describe talking back to adults?!)

Up Next: More Animal Kingdom!!

:lmao: "Fresh mouth" makes me think of a toothpaste commercial:teeth: .

In our house a bold girl is called a madam, Niamh was watching HSM this morning, turned round to me and said "Mummy Sharpay's a MADAM isn't she?"....yes Niamh it takes one to know one:rolleyes1 (three guesses who's Niamhs fav character in the HSM movies)

It sounds like you day was just practically, perfect in every way:cloud9: ....I hope it stayed that way and there weren't any traumas later on:scared:

Yea - a new chapter! :thumbsup2 We call it sassy or more often "attitude" because what she is saying (or not saying) is usually being accompanied by some sort of physical action - typically an eye roll. At 4 1/2. Thank goodness I have no problem giving her attitude an adjustment!

If Teddy loved walking into AK and the animal print Kid Transporter, he will be thrilled when you guys stay at AKL in August!

LOL at you being pushed in the stroller. Awesome! I don't really "get" the Primeval Whirl height requirement either.

Don't we get to see the picture of you getting out of the kid transporter?

Yeaaaa a new report! The kids will love the Animal Kingdom on your next trip. Funny how kids get specific ideas in their head like what the family is supposed to look like....glad to hear that both kids were so happy!

1 - Can someone pleeeassse teach me how to use the multi-quote? Thank you in advance!!

On to my post:

Teddy gave me his best smile and said,

"Isn't this the best day MissCammie?! Because we're all together. We're a family all together!"

This child has a picture in his mind of what a family looks like and it seems we'd stepped into the picture frame again!

good grief crying already and it wasn't even noon yet!

seriously just made myself cry again remembering that.

"Yes buddy...this IS the best day!"

Sally and Jay were cuddled up behind us. Normally Sally likes to be IN FRONT of whatever she is riding. I don't really know why she wanted to ride with Teddy and me, but when I looked behind me she had her arms around her daddy as tight as she could and she was smiling.

goodness gracious, these moments kill me. When your world gets turned upside down, sometimes it seems like you have to hang on tight...just to really get the feel of that person you miss so much. To really know they are right beside you. It's hard for Sally. She and Jay are so close. They spent a lot of time together when she was small. There is a tether between her heart and Jay's and I know that Sally worries that her "new" life will break that bond."

Miss Cammie:

Did you not realize that you HAVE that wonderful Mommy-Son bond with Teddy? He curls into your arms when he's sleepy and he always wants to be around you. My DS does the same things . That's why I call him my little SnuggleBug and I'm his CuddleBlanket.

And the heat thing? Yeah, I think all boys do it, my son comes into my bed in to middle of the night (I need help getting him out, any advice?) and I wake up b/c I start sweating!!!!:scared1:

Take it from me, YOU ARE A GREAT MOMMY!!!!:yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2:

Whew... I found your trip report last week and just made it through all 78 pages, comments included -- it's just that good! :thumbsup2 I'm usually just a lurker, but it didn't seem fair not to let you know how much I'm enjoying following your journey through the World. I can't believe you guys have been through so much on your trip and we're still only on... day 4? I too come from a family where manners, good-natured teasing, and respect for those around you is very important, so you, along with my parents, will be my inspiration in the distant future when I hopefully have kids of my own. There's so much that I want to comment on that I don't know where to start, so I'll keep it to this.

1) The moment between Minnie and Sally was amazing
2) Teddy cracks me up every time -- love the big words combined with the silly moments and trouble making, probably because it reminds me of me when I was a kid... wait... scratch that... reminds me of me NOW when I'm with my little sisters :lmao:
3) MissCammie-isms are the best... I MUST find a way to incorporate pootsnorkel into my vocabulary, even if all my friends at college look at me like I'm crazy.
4) I never realized it until you said it, but fresh is definitely a Jersey word. My family moved there when I was 6 and all my friends' parents used it, but with us it was "I don't like your attitude (or tone)." Um, and on the note of Jersey slang, I hope very much that you don't wait on line. (Yes, my parents fought the Jersey accent tooth and nail while we lived there, and did pretty well, but I do talk about going to the shore. And I occasionally say, "I know, right?" despite my personal efforts to avoid it.:confused3 )
5) My heart just breaks to hear the things Sally and Teddy are going through away from Disney. It's so hard for me to imagine that a parent could not realize how much pain they're causing their children. :grouphug: for all of you.
6) You and Jay are hilarious together -- I love the silent look communication and the loving bops. I'm still trying to train DBF to understand the various "looks" -- apparently I need to master the eyebrow arch... the closest I've got right now is raising both of them and looking pointedly at him...

I'll be here waiting for the further adventures of the CampellScots when you have time to share. :goodvibes

1 - Can someone pleeeassse teach me how to use the multi-quote? Thank you in advance!!

OK, see, down at the bottom of each post, right next to the "quote" button, the little icon that looks like a piece of paper with quotation marks and little plus sign on it? Click that and it turns red. Click it on each post you want to reply to, then hit the quote button. Every post you clicked on will now be quoted in your reply box and you can just cut out the bits you don't want. Type your replies to each quote in between it and the next quote. :)

My mom called me "fresh" growing up...probably cause she's from NJ...:rotfl2:

Thanks for the update!:goodvibes

Don't we get to see the picture of you getting out of the kid transporter?
Come to think of it, have we seen a single picture of MissCammy??? :confused3 And maybe I've missed something, but I don't think we know your first name... :goodvibes

Just wanting to put a face with this fabulous, famous Dis TR author!!!

Loving every minute of your TR, by the way!!!

another great update, so well organised having quick drying clothes for AK will have to do that next trip as ds1 will be tall enough for the rapids and knowing him will want to go on them.

Also pleased they liked ITTBAB even if the bugs did stink.

The moments between your dh and sally brought a tear to my eye it was just so beautiful and because of your great descriptive storytelling i could picture it perfectly in my mind.

Look forward to reading more,

"someone" needs a chill pill....

My DD is 12 and VERY excited about going back to Disney. Her first time last year and she was not very thrilled (*gasp*) but that was before she actually went. Now she likes it as much as her mama... well almost ;) .

If you haven't found Sally a P & P costume I bought one on ebay from a seller that is really cute. (can PM you if you want)

Loved you update. Your time at the AK reminded me of ours. So ready to go back

I think there should be a tissue warning at the beginning of this trip report - cause I certainly needed one with the last post.

I know the bond that Sally shares and lemme tell you - it takes an awful lot to break it; if that's even possible.

I lost my dad in Oct and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about him or the memories that we shared - that bond is still there despite him not being. Not to harp on the subject but if **someone** thinks that by being unkind, sneaky, and nasty is going to lessen it or break it then **someone** is sadly mistaken. It will only make it stronger.

Anyhoo....

I love the quick dry clothing -- do they make them for adults?? lol. My hubby is a water ride lover and me - well me not so much. I will have to look into them. You're so organized - I love it.

Can't wait for the next update!!!

:lmao: "Fresh mouth" makes me think of a toothpaste commercial:teeth: .

Being a madam means something slightly different around here! :rotfl2: ;)

Ok, you went and did again little Miss Cammie!!! It never fails, everytime I read one of your updates, I start crying! You have some wonderful children there Cammie, you really do! The world thanks you for helping to raise such great kids!

Miss Cammie, I just have to tell you, as a single mom who deals with her ex's various girlfriends/fiancee's/hook-ups......you sound like a wonderful step-mama!!! You truly love those little angels and treat them as your own!

Sounds like someone is a tad bit jealous of your relationship with her kiddos and should spend some time on her relationship with them, as she is tearing it to shreds. They are obviously not window-lickers and will figure out that you are Daddy are the go-to's and *somebody* is crazy as a bed bug. :confused3
Every divorced child should be so carefree and unconcerned about "taking sides" instead of worrying.

Can't wait to read the rest of your report!!!!:woohoo:

:thumbsup2 O.K. it's a little after 11pm and I just got done reading your last 2 installments and let me tell you Miss Cammie; I was laughing out loud about the whole "Susie episode!" Just picturing the whole thing in my mind unfolding on the way to AK was too funny.

But seriously....Thank God for people like you! :worship: I will say reading your installments has shown me how to be a better person as well as a better mom in the sense that life is short and to enjoy the time that you have with one another. And if you can throughout your life, impact someone elses life too and share some of the magic of humanity!

We head to AKV on April 6th (savannah view  )for a week and I am usually a planner to the T! This time I am taking it slow, I only made 3 ADR's for the entire time and we are going to go with the flow and do our thing!;) An idea borrowed from your TR!!

They are obviously not window-lickers and will figure out that you are Daddy are the go-to's and *somebody* is crazy as a bed bug. :confused3

Please pray, tell, what is a window-licker - don't think I've ever heard that expression.

BTW continuing to love your TR MissCammie

Come to think of it, have we seen a single picture of MissCammy??? :
There was one at the very beginning but it is very far away.

Miss Cammie, I think I responded to you at the start, but in case I did not I looooove this trip report. I check on it almost every day. You are cut from a mold that sadly does not exist much in this day and age. The mold of a very responsible and responsive parent. Sally and Teddy love you for your adventurous and loving side, and some day they are even going to thank you for your not so wicked side.

Kim
