We have been to SSR in Dec.2008 and Dec. 2009. We are itching to go back and trying to decide when to go and where to stay. I am a teacher so we have to plan around my breaks. We can either go over Spring Break in mid March or right after our school gets out in late May/early June. We would like to try a different DVC resort and a different time of year. The one advantage I see of going in late May is that we can drive and that will save us a ton of $$. On the other hand we are used to the great weather in December! What are your thoughts about time of year and a different resort to try. Thanks everyone!

We own at SSR and really enjoy the resort. But, we also enjoy trying out the different resorts. We went to SSR in May (memorial weekend) and while we had bad weather, it is not overly crowded. It was less crowded at the parks in October. We stayed at AK this year 1st week in June. It was really hot, but I did not think crowds were bad then either. I think we prefer October the best because of the MNSSHP and it is a little cooler.

Late May! Spring break is terrible crowds.

I'd say late May also. As long as you stay away from the MK on the weekends it will be fine. Another thought is if your school has a fall break in October, we find that t o be almost perfect. We loved going the 3rd week of October when Minnesota has Teacher's union meetings.

OK, now my husband is saying maybe October during my fall break!!! I am super excited because that would mean less than a year between visits! Is there any way we would still be able to get a studio? Usually, I plan a year out. UGG!

The only way to know is to call MS and try. Studios are often difficult on short notice, but certainly not impossible. I think your fall break time would be perfect! I love that time of year at Disney.
