A Birthday, A First Timer, 24 hrs & a weekend in another Galaxy!

Hey howdy hey!!!

Welcome to the newest pre trippie of mine!!! I was definitely debating not doing one as I JUST started Dec’s trip report, and have an even bigger adventure going on as we speak, however it’s always nice to get the excitement up and see if any other fellow Disboard-ers are going to be there around the same time!!

I’m the one in the blue…. Heh heh.

I’m a 24 year old, Canadian Disney lover! I’ve been over to Disney World something like 15 times since May of 2011! Shocking, I know, I’m currently a passholder, and waiting for my adventure as a Disney Cast Member to begin in October!!
My favorite characters include: Tigger, Donald, Rapunzel, Lottie, Tiana & Naveen, Periwinkle, & Aurora, and I am a newly recruited member to the Dark Side, which was just in time for this upcoming trip.

Coming with me on this trip is Jenna:



It’s her FIRST time over at Disney World, and she is BEYOND excited for it! She’s 20 years old, and we met at the dinner theater we both currently work at, and definitely bonded over the Disney love and the fact that we both used to do gymnastics! Her favorites include Rapunzel, Darth Vader, and many more. I know she’s excited about Tower of Terror, and of course, meeting her favorite princesses and other characters!

When: May 21 to May 28th

Where:: Disney’s Pop Century Resort, my home away from home!!

Despite Pop being a Value I actually PREFER staying here to the moderates, I’m just finding more and more that Mod’s are a WASTE of money, with the exception of the Royal Rooms at POR, but they were just a bit too costy for us this trip, maybe next time!

Pop has a great food court, nice selections, I’m ALWAYS in a great location, the busses are always great, and with AoA right across the lake, there’s another whole option for busses and food, not to mention exploring!

Why: well, do I really need to give a WHY for going to Disney world?? I think NOT! However; Jenna & I had been talking about going for quite a while now, and figured that May would be best so she’d be done school, and I could save up, plus, I highly enjoy early May.

Yes, you read that right, we were ORIGINALLY booked in with 4 people going at the first week of May, then 1 bailed as she thought she was getting an acting gig that would be in rehearsals that week, we were down to three. THEN, then anncouned the 24 hour “Rock Your Disney Side” event, and I knew I was NOT missing that. So I booked Steven & I in for the dates at the end of May! Then I realized that budget wise this was not smart, and talked to Jenna about switching dates, and we switched all three of us to the end of May….a few weeks later Steven realized he would not be able to afford it either, and bailed.

LUCKILY, nothing major was booked and Disney’s always great with dropping people from reservations.

We also have the added factor that May 28th is my BIRTHDAY!!! 25th birthday at that, so I knew we’d have to stay and get a late flight out so I could be in the best place on earth ON my birthday!

Now that all the big details are out of the way, lets get down to business with the bigger plans!!

Day 1- Wednesday May 21

Hello everyone, and welcome aboard the first leg of our journey into Florida, and thus, my lovely home, Walt Disney World. It will be one HECK OF AN EARLY START as we are going to be departing Calgary at around 7:00am, which thanks to customs & security, means to be at the airport for 5:00am… :shocked:



We’ll have a quick stopover along the way, but soon enough will be seeing the magical ness of palm trees, blue skies and sunshine, and of course, the MAGICAL EXPREEEEEESSSSS.



Now, I’m not actually sure at this point if we’ll be heading straight to Pop, originally, our trip was starting on the 22nd, but with hopes of an audition on that day, we’re flying in a day early & I’m HIGHLY considering staying at a deluxe on the first night to really go all out! Lol! I’m definitely open to suggestions! Ha!

Either way, we’ll be heading into our home away from home for the week, and just relaxing. We land around 5:30, so we’ll probably explore around a bit, get some dinner, and head to bed at a relatively decent time!







Just threw some Animal Kingdom Lodge pictures in there because it’s definitely my favorite, and if it’s my birthday trip, I get to stay where I want for one night, right? Bahahah

An early bedtime will be much needed after a long day of travel, so I’m sure that’s all we’ll do on arrival day!

Day 2- Thursday May 22

**Just going to jump in here and mention that MOST of the photos in my PTR’s are mine from previous trips, but when it becomes too much of a headache to find specific ones, they’re completely random ones off photobucket lol**

Today is another non park day for us, and yes, it will be KILLING me to not get into the parks yet, but it’s well needed to be RESTED for this trip! Today will be the day that we attend a Disney Audition. I’ve auditioned PLENTLY of times already, and was honestly starting to give up, thinking I didn’t have a “Disney face” back in December…and then I got looked at….and it happened again…and again….longer each time, but still with no luck of getting pulled. I also however, know that I stand at 5’4’’ and that’s average height for girls, and there’s not many “furry friends” I could have in that range, and since everyone does that, they’re more likely to cast on height range than if you look perfect to make a “princess friend” if there’s no room in fur, there’s no hope. So here’s hoping that come May there in need of some chipmunks.

Auditions are usually either 10am or 4pm, so that really dictates our day today. I know we’ll get up, relax around our deluxe hotel until it’s time to leave, have some breakfast, the usual!



Once audition time hits, we’ll head over there, and rock it, obviously. The facility is located pretty much across the road from Animal Kingdom, so it’s nice and easy to get to, and hopefully we’ll be there most of the day!

After we’ve finished, we’ll head over to Pop to check in for realsies!





Just pretend that’s Jenna instead of Steven, bahaha!

Our evening/afternoon will most likely be filled with some adventures through Downtown Disney, where I at least attempt to not spend ALL my money before we even get into the parks!




I also have always wanted to ride in the hot air balloon, so that might happen too!



With Downtown Disney explored, we’ll head back to NEAR our hotel, and I’m guessing we’ll take some time to explore over at Art of Animation!



Jenna’s never been over there obviously, and it’s one of my favorite resorts to play around at, so it’ll be super nice to check it out and show her everything, plus I find the food court there to be FAR superior to Pop’s!







Tonight will however be a VERY early night, helped with some Melatonin probably, as we’ve got one HECK of an early morning the next day, and it’s bound to be a VERY LONG DAY….I think we all know what I’m talking about…

Day 3- Friday May 23rd

GOOOOOOOODDDD MOOOORRRNNNIIINNNNGGGGG ALLLL!!

After our first sleep over at Pop Century, Jenna and I will be (hopefully) BOUNDING out of bed with tons of energy and ready to ROCK the day!! Obviously, we’ll be heading out to the Magic Kingdom for the 6:00am rope drop!



Also something I don’t think I mentioned, we have Disneybounds planned for the entire trip! For those of you who don’t know, Disneybounding, is when you take the “idea” of a character’s costume and put it into real clothes so that you’re “dressing like them” without actually being in costume. For example, one from last year is Snow White:



Today, I’ll be bounding as Wendy, and Jenna has a lovely green dress to do Tink! These of course, are only for the earlier part of the day.

Hopefully we’ll be arriving in time to catch rope drop that morning and it’ll be Jenna’s FIRST TIME EVER walking down Main Street, so naturally, there will be tears, videoing, and it’ll be the BEST. DAY. EVER.



Like, actually I think I might cry….going with a first timer brings such magic that you really don’t’ get to experience any other way, and I know Jenna’s going to LOVE it, and it’s just going to be such an incredible day!

My guess is we’ll spend the next few hours doing the things we know will be busy in the afternoon/evening:





And hopefully get a chance to meet some fantastic characters:

Mainly those two since our Disneybounds relate to them. I’ve heard some mixed rumours recently about Wendy, so here’s hoping she’ll still be out when we get there!!

Around 8:15 am, we’ll need to head back towards Fantasyland cause we’ve got AWEOSME BREAKFAST PLANS!!

YUP! I managed to score a breakfast (would be pre park opening lol) ADR for Cinderella’s Royal Table! I’ve been dying to do breakfast here for quite a while, so I’m super excited for it, plus, what better of a way to immerse Jenna into the magic than breakfast with the princesses?? We also will have an amazing guest star joining us for breakfast, and probably most of the day, Danielle!



And her parents! Lol, and yes, that photo is stolen RIGHT out of her trip report, what can I say, Imma creep!



Now, back to the castle, I’ve done lunch and dinner here and hope breakfast to be better than lunch, bahhha!! I really love it for the ambiance and obviously the princesses, and I’m hoping it’s a grand experience for everyone involved!

I’m not sure what Danielle’s plans are immediately after breakfast, but once we’re finished up, if it’s not yet 10:00am, Jenna and I will hustle our little butts over to Frontierland for our FP+ for Splash Mountain!!



Here’s hopin we don’t get TOO wet, as we’ve got a royal greeting up next!





Managed to score THOSE fast passes the other day, and could not have been happier! Jenna got her ticket through Undercover Tourist, so we had to wait for it to get here to link it and I was super happy to see they released more Anna & Elsa fast passes the other day that I could grab! I know Danielle’s group also has a fast pass during that time too so we’ll be seeing each other again!

About an hour and a few rides later, we’ll use our fast pass for Rapunzel & Cinderella

And really, since it’s a special event, the princes will be out, right?? Bahahah (really though, I HOPE they are, though it probably wouldn’t be til later since they’d have to wait til the Frozen duo are out of the hall)

After a very filled morning in the Kingdom, Jenna and I will be returning back to Pop for a long break/nap and costume change. The morning will be mainly breakfast, and say, characters that will only be out in the morning. I’m hoping the crowds will be large enough that Disney will put on 2 Festival of Fantasy’s, but I’m also hoping it won’t be that crowded at all. IF they do, clearly we’ll make time for the parade that day because it’s just majestic!

With that, we’ll jump back on the bus, as we’re going to need a long nap right about now!!

Annnnd now onto part TWO of our day!! Jenna & I will return relatively early afternoon back to Pop Century today where it will be time for some REST! Otherwise at about 3:00am we’ll look like this:



But we’ll be on the Tomorrowland Speedway, and that’s just not a good thing! My MAJOR plan for now is to nap, as I know we’ll need it. Now, staying up til 6:00am won’t be that bad, since we both work in the restaurant industry there’s lots of staying up that late, but it’s not in the Florida sunshine, so taking a break during the hottest part of the day is probably a good idea.



Some pool time might be needed, and we’ll probably eat at the food court, or venture back to AoA for some midday lunch!



Again, different variety of foods to try over there, and I feel like they’ll have better vegetarian options, which will be needed for Jenna! Once we’re refreshed, relaxed, and ready to ROCK OUR DISNEY SIDE, we’ll head back out to Magic Kingdom, and pray that it’s not too crowded!



We’ll spend some time doing whatever is not crowded, so my guess is we’ll definitely be catching some of the awesome entertainment;





Before the lights go down, we’ll have to take a spin over to Rapunzel’s tower, as that’s what Jenna’s costume is (at this point lol, I bought her an XL of a kids costume and it does fit, she just says its SUPER itchy, so we might have to figure out something else for her, who knows?)



Today’s obviously going to be spent doing mostly the special event stuff, it’s pretty obvious they’re going to have some special characters out for the event, and I’d love to spend the time meeting them! I know they’ve got some random awesome dance parties to attend, and obviously, the rides, fireworks and such are still there, so it’ll relaly be an all around crazy night!









The event will be filled with friends as well, I know there’s quite a few Dismeets that I have both planned, and in the works, and am SUPER excited about it, and also of course seeing all my cast member friends lol! Since it’s an overnight event, I KNOW there will be lots of treats, sugar, and coffee needed!

And you know, since I will be with Danielle, I would not be surprised if the crowds get the most of us and we’ve got to take a little monorail ride to get some of THESE BABIES:

After our break we plan on staying in the park til the 6:00am close, we’re going to party hard and it’s going to be FANTASTIC. I’m super excited to be a part of something so amazing, I WISH it wans’t going to be as crowded as I know it’s going to be, but I’m sure the worst of it will be up til around 3:00 am anyways, those last 3 hours will be GOLDEN! (from what I hope/hear). I’m even more excited for the fact that we get to wear costumes, (and mine actually came today!! EEEEKKKK) it’s really going to be amazing, exhausting, but amazing and I hope to experience it to it’s fullest.

Once the 6:00am mark hits, it will be back to the bus we go to CRASH for the next few hours!

And there ARE 2 Festival of Fantasy parades that day! One at noon and one at 3:00! I'm very happy about the noon parade because with two little ones, I doubt we'll be in the Magic Kingdom for the 3:00 parade so the noon parade is perfect! And I managed to score FP+ for it!

I do feel bad for the entertainment cast members! I can't IMAGINE what their schedules must be like for the 24 hr event!! FoF takes 100 performers alone!! eek!!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD ….afternoon??? Bahahah it WILL be by the time that we wake up today (or at least, I REALLY hope it is) I mean, we’ll be leaving MK at 6, probably not in bed til 7, I’m hoping for at LEAST 5 hours of sleep in there, and once we do wake up, it’s not a rush to get out of the hotel either, thank goodness!!

It’s on to my second favorite park today!



I’m guessing we’ll arrive at Animal Kingdom sometime around 1:00, 1:30, which will be nice, and I mean, the park really doesn’t need all day, especially with my one true love still closed….



Temporary RIP FOTLK….

We’ll have some time to explore around the park, meet some characters, I mean, my favorite cuddly bunch is here, and it’s always a fantastic time to see Pocahontas!

ESPECIALLY since our Disneybounds for the day are from her movie! Jenna came up with the idea to do Poca, and I thought about Meeko, but like, that’s kinda boring, so I went for Flit (the hummingbird friend of hers!) It was super easy to assemble out of clothes I already had and would be using for other Disneybounds too! Knowing Jenna, we’ll take some time to see the petting zoo, and hang out around there because, hey, animals are super adorable!



Hopefully befor our first fast pass time hits, we’ll also be able to take a gander over to the Finding Nemo show, because now I really do have a love for it, and it’s super cute!



Our first fast pass around 3pm will take us over to Africa and onto a 2 week adventure through the wilderness!!





Conveniently, right in the middle both time slot wise AND location wise, we have dinner booked next! I’ve wanted to go back for a while now, and they seem to have some great vegetarian options, so like, BONUS!







In case you can’t tell, we’ll be having dinner at Yak & Yeti, which I’m super pumped for, cause like, the wontons….yes…all of the yum!

And of course, right after dinner, what’s a better idea than running over to Asia to FIGHT A FREAKING YETTTIIII…..





About half an hour after our fast pass time for that we have a fast pass for Dinosaur, and we all know how that’s going to turn out….I’ll be terrified as ALL HECK….



Then we’ll just be hanging around, I do really want to explore AK a lot, and I think Jenna will be super into that, especially after such a high impact day at Magic the previous 24 hours. I’m sure we’ll hit up Everest a few more times, and hopefully manage to still be there when it’s DARK!



I also wouldn’t be surprised if this is all we do for the evening, maybe a nice swim or something if it’s still warm enough when we get back, but after such a long and crazy partyfilled day previously, I’m sure we’ll both be so tired it’ll be nice to head to bed early this evening!!

Hello again everyone! And welcome to Day 5 of our trip!! Today is another exciting day filled with NEW adventures for the BOTH of us! Jenna even got all excited the other day when I mentioned I’d never done this stuff before and she’s pumped that we’ll both be experiencing something new together!! We are headed off, bright and early to Disney’s Hollywood Studios!








Now, we have a lot to experience today, and any tips or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated as I’ve never done it before!! Clearly, we’re headed to a day of Star Wars Weekend fun! Our FIRST and foremost stop will be for Jenna’s favorite:



And yes, I just used that Gif…because that’s probably my FAVORITE Disney commercial. When we first started talking about the trip I asked if Jenna if she was a Star Wars fan and she FREAKED out when I said we could meet Darth Vader, so he’ll be our main stop for the day. I’d like to meet some of the other characters from the actual movies they have out, and whoever else we can, but it doesn’t really matter to me!





I also have a friend who likes to hang out with some of the dark side, whether he’ll be doing JTA that day, greets, or maybe not even be working the weekend, it’d still be fun to see some more villians….





The morning will pretty much be spent doing all the SWW stuff as I know lines will be long, and it’ll be the main point of the day. Jenna & I also have Star Wars Disneybounds planned out for the day!! She’s going for Darth Vader & I’m either going for Darth Maul or possibly Hans Solo as that might not be as hot to wear, bahaha!! I’ve found some pretty cool accessories on Etsy as well, like light saber earrings and the like, I figure if I at least don’t do a full on Disneybound, my Star Wars will be out in full force!! Lol.

Our fast passes start at 1:00pm, with a trip over to my favorite place ever, and the best hotel for anyone considering a short stay!





We have a TON of time between it’s opening time and our next fast pass’s opening time so I’m SURE we’ll take the time to check out Beauty and the Beast since we’ll be down that way.







I don’t know how into coasters Jenna is, but I think she’ll be taking a spin with Aerosmith, and I’ll be kind enough to wait in line with her and then bail at the exit as usual, bahaha.



We head back into the Star Wars zone for our next fast pass, and my FIRST EVER RIDE ON STAR TOURS….here’s hoping I don’t get sick…



Our next stop on the fast pass train will be a little more tame, and a little more competitive, and like, my favorite…man…DHS sure does have a lot of my favorite rides but still doesn’t make my favorite park list! Bahah





ARRRG I’M SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!! SERIOUSLY, DYING RIGHT NOW!!!!

I’m sure that the rest of the day will be spent wandering, meeting some other chracters, I’d like to catch the SWW parade, and obviously pay tribute to “all nations but mostly, America”, swim alongside Ariel, and maybe even take an animation class if Jenna’s into that?

The night will end off with those special SWW fireworks, and of COURSE a visit over to the amphitheater to watch Mickey’s Imagination come to LIFE. Which might actually have a special guest visitor! A friend who’s been working for Disney is moving to seasonal and has a bucket list of things to do before she takes off and might come watch with us this evening, but we’re not sure with!





Tonight, Magic Kingdom is open until 2:00am, so if we feel up to the challenge (DHS closes at 11) we might even head back over there til it closes, get on some more rides that we might have missed before!!

It's another fun filled day for us today!!! We only have one park left to hit up, so if you've been paying attention, we're clearly headed over to Epcot today!!



We're heading into the park in the morning, but I wouldn't be surprised if we miss rope drop, and honestly, I won't be too concerned! We've got our fast passes for later in the evening, but thanks to tiering of course, we don't have one for Test Track, so that'll be our first stop of the day! Let's make some cars!!






WEEEE!! I haven't been on this ride in a while so it will be super nice to actually get back on it for once! Lol. With our racing done, I'm sure we'll cut across Future World to head over to Soarin! We do have a fp for this later in the day, but flying over California is always fun to do more than once!



While we're over there, I'm sure we'll pop in to say hello to Crush!



Once 11 hits, we'll of course begin our adventures ALL AROUND THE WORLD!! I wouldn't mind starting in Mexico, but I wouldn't be surprised if our touring plan is based much more around character's meet and greet times, bahha!!







Naturally, with World Showcase comes shopping, window shopping, exploring, and of course drinking….







Naturally, we'll be meeting as many characters as we can today, our two priorities being Belle! (since our Disneybounds relate to her today!) and I'd REALLY like to see Mulan, because it's been too long!







Once we've made the loop through World Showcase, it'll be time to return over to Future World to quickly use a fast pass to take a spin through the Sea!





And then we've got a lovely and exciting dinner booked for us over at Garden Grill!


I definitely plan on asking for some of the mac & cheese and sweet potato fries as well, especially since Jenna's a vegetarian, gives us some more options! I'm super excited to eat her for the first time as I've heard good things about it, and who doesn't love a good character meal!?





With our bellies full and everything going wonderfully, we'll head out of the Land and not have to go far to use our last fast pass of the day over at Spaceship Earth!





And of course, to tie our day exploring the various thing the world can hold for us, we'll definitely be grabbing a seat around the lagoon to watch Illuminations! It's been FAR too long since I've watched it (Sept 2012…#whoops) so I definitely want to catch it!

I'm guessing tonight will be a straight to bed kinda day, it's been a long week, and we've only got one full day left in the parks, so we've got to be ready for THAT big adventure!!!

Welp, we've reached it…our last FULL day in the parks! It's always a super sad one, but at least we aren't leaving first thing the next day, so we don't have to REALLY think about going home quite yet, right?!

Now, my original plan for today was:
-Rope drop Animal Kingdom, ride Everest, maybe something else
-Hop to Hollywood to use our fast passes
-Hop to Magic for the rest of the day

However, based on: Animal Kingdom doesn't have enough of a pull for 2 trips if there's no FOLK, it would really just be for Everest…. AND our Disneybounds for the day relating to Peter Pan, and him only doing sets in the mornings, I think I've decided that we will be starting off the morning here:



And head into see Tinkerbell, since she's related to our Disneybounds as well, and her line's always dead first thing!

And we'll obviously be popping over to see these guys as well:

Depending on how we're doing for time, and what time they come out, we might stop for a few more meets that morning, or a ride or two of course!





Then it'll be time to hop aboard the Walt Disney World Transportation System!



And head back over to where the lights gleam and stars roam the streets!!



Our first fast pass starts at 11:20, and is for us to take a drop down 13 stories, which is seriously always a fabulous adventure!!



Cause really, who wouldn't want to do that?!?! We've got some time to kill in here, so we might take a spin through the movies,



Visit some toys;



Or really whatever we didn't manage to catch while we were traversing the galaxy our previous Hollywood day! We'll head to Pixar Place for our second fast pass of the day



Because I REALLY just can't resist Toy Story Mania!!

What happens next really just depends on how we feel, and if we want to see Festival of Fantasy again! The parade's at 3:00pm, we do have another fp+ at DHS to use, but it's for the Little Mermaid show, which I'm sure you don't really need one for lol! If we're feeling the Hollywood vibe, we'll stick around there and play, but if we are feeling like joining the Festival, it'll be AWAY WE GO!

With the parade over, I'm sure it will be time for some dinner, or at least a snack, because really, with no sit down meals, we all eat a LOT in Disney!

And like, who doesn't LOVE ice cream? The rest of the day is really just full of us playing around, we'll hit up some rides and characters for some more fun stuff, and I'm still attempting to get us some dinner reservations for tonight, and hopefully those would be around 5-7 pm, as we're actually missing Wishes our earlier MK day due to dinner and we CAN'T MISS THAT! Lol. Update…just made an ADR for Kona for dinner! The sushi list looks great to me, and they've got Vegetarian rolls & noodles with tofu so it's a fit for Jenna! I'm still hoping 1900 PF will open up, but we'll see!!

We'll obviously be ending our night with the Main Street Electrical Parade & Wishes, and obviously staying until park closing!







And naturally we'll have to end the night off heading up to the train station. Just because we might not have time in the morning, and it's much more relaxing and a different feeling at night!

One more sleep til we have to leave, it'll be a sad evening for us!

Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!! It's our last day in Disney and it's a very important day because:



YUP! The dates for this trip were pushed around a little bit simply because I really wanted to actually be IN the parks on my birthday, because, what better of a way to celebrate!?! I haven't decided if I'll just wear the button this day or on another day too, perhaps the first MK day before we change into costume?

We're, once again, rope dropping Magic Kingdom, and today we'll have enough time for one quick ride or so, we'll probably end up voting on what we want to do most lol! And then it'll be time for our first fast pass:

And I'm sure we'll end up sticking around FTH for a bit, swing through the other side, and take a swim down to see Ariel thanks to our Disneybounds.

We've got fast passes for Space Mtn & Peter Pan's Flight and maybe after a quick lunch it'll be time to head back to the hotel…and catch the Magical Depress back to the airport…

Sounds like another great trip planned and you have so many special things going on! The 24 hour event sounds amazing. Even if it is crowded, it's still gonna be awesome!

Neither Chris or I have ever seen Star Wars but we both agree we want to go to Star Wars weekends! We need to fix that. Have you seriously never been on Star Tours? Is that even possible?!

i'm just curious, how does it work with auditions now that you're a CM? When you go to the audition and make it through do you just switch from your role to the entertainment role or do you do both?

SOOOOOOOO JEALOUS of this trip. 1 because I wanted to be at the all night event...My birthday is May 26 so it would have be awesome to attend

1st, congrats on becoming a CM!! I hope the time flies by until October!

2nd, were you able to get Seven Dwarfs Mine Train FP+ for your birthday?! I know you said you don't like coasters, so maybe not?

3rd, we'll be in MK and AK on the same days! We won't be making rope drop on the 23rd, nor will it be a super late night--we have an 8:30ish ADR at Tusker House on the 24th!
