.99 a gallon

I was cleaning out a book I used in college and found a gas receipt from 1998. Gas was .99 a gallon. I can't imagine being college paying $2.35 today.

I used to get gas at the same gas station when I was in college because it was always cheaper than every place else, and always seemed to be $1.45 a gallon, and that was cheap!

When I got my license in 1972 gas was .27 cents a gallon

When i got my license, it was like 94 cents a gallon.

i was commuting to college 45 min each way when gas was 3.00--it was horrible

*raises hand* That would be me... Grad student who travels 80 miles a week to one of my clinic sites and who will be traveling 100 miles A DAY for 6 weeks over the summer for my externship I'll be sharing the gas with another student but wear and tear on my car also...
