I'm sorry to hear about that. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

There have been a couple of unexpected deaths that have affected us too. My ex's (father of my DS) mother had a heart attack on 11/30, found brain dead and passed away the next day.

My grandfather has been sick and hospitalized on and off since the beginning of November. He recently had a bleeding ulcer and pneumonia. Well on our way to DTD my dad called and said that my grandfather has taken a turn for the worse and will have a biopsy. After hearing that, I didn't feel like going shopping or into DL, so DH and I headed back home. About five hours later, my dad called again and said that there were some complications and my grandfather passed away. It was definitely an even longer drive back home.

We're not in the holiday spirit at all. And don't know if we'll ever be this season.

How very sad, my prayers go out to all involved.

Two of our SonIL's have very ill parents, sadly in and out of the hospital past few yrs. Ones Dad is terminal and now that all treatments are over, feels not much hope. It breaks my heart and is so sad watching what everyone is going thru - the ill parents, the devoted children trying their best to help anyway they can and still stay strong and carry on. Will truly put a damper on any holiday spirit.

I know I miss my Dad and brother and my heart goes out to all missing a loved one, specially the holidays. {[hugs}}
