We've been assigned that cabin. Anyone been in it and care to comment? I saw a video of it, at least parts of it. I'd like to hear people's thoughts on the location (totally Aft).
Thanks a lot.

We did not stay in 9170, we were next door. We did get to see inside.
It is a handicap accessible. As such, it is somewhat larger. The bathroom, while larger, is NOT a "split". For some that's not an issue, for DW, the split baths of DCL are one of her favorite features. The verandah is nice and roomy, view aft is limited by metal walls.

As to being located totally aft,
1. it's an easy walk up to the drink station
2. it's usually pretty quiet
3. it is a LONG walk to the WD Theater, especially if you're used to the MAGIC/WONDER. We were surprised at how much extra time we had to allow. The same holds true for the adult pool area (we are not travelling with children). The other pools, and other midship areas, not too bad
4. Conversely, the adult bars/lounges are easy late at night
Hope that helps

Thanks, Ken. Definitely looks like there are Pros and Cons...
We will have to consider adding time for the walking from Point A to Point B!!:rotfl:
Anyone else familiar with this cabin?

We stayed in 9674 which is right there too...look on the Dream map to see how close those two rooms are despite the strange numbering. :upsidedow We LOVED staying Aft on the Dream!! It is quiet since no one is walking past your room to go to theirs. The verandahs are a little bigger back there and you have PERFECT views of Castaway Cay since the ship backs in!! :lovestruc Our sailing was a little bumpy and windy the first night, (VERY windy on that aft verandah!! :rotfl:) but wouldn't term it a "con". Yes, you walk a little more, but our family didn't mind it at all. We have 2 DD and we always had some little game we played or just talked while we went from point A to point B...and since we have the little ones we ALWAYS allowed more time! ;) The stairs are right there, so we used those rather than the elevator when just going up to pool. The elevators aren't really far from the room, though. We just LOVED the aft location...so much so that we booked room 9172 on the Fantasy in November! :thumbsup2 Hope this helps!

I have 9674 for our cruise in August. Do they have the loungers on the extended verandah? I was really hoping for loungers.

Are you in a Wheelchair? Do you need a HA room?

I have a Service Dog that i love that room. That is the only HA room on the back. I need room for the dogs potty. If the room is took i have to look for another cruise.

Hi....I understand how you would need an HA room. To answer your question, no, we do not require an HA room. We booked a GTY 6A, and this cabin was assigned to us. I assume that if someone needs it, we will have to give it up...not a problem. Matter of fact, I questioned why we got it in the first place.

Mark - great photos - Bingo is a great looking dog!
And we too had booked GTY (once) and were assigned an HA room - as I mentioned earlier, DW LOVES the split bath, and we actually downgraded to get that rather than the HA room. So, it looks like DCL holds the HA staterooms until they begin assigning the GTY bookings. If it hasn't been not requested, it's put in the "pool" available for GTY.

We had what I call "loungers"...they laid completely down and I actually took a short cat-nap on one ;) We LOVED :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc that room!!
