Packing should be interesting, not bringing any liquids ... no shampoo, lotions, sunblock...etc.

What about makeup? LOL...even deoderant...I see the buckets of stuff that people are having to throw away...anything jell like too.

It will be interesting...lol. Is anyone going to send a package of items to the ship??

I'm going to be mailing most of these things ahead of time (the make up/ shampoo/ deoderant are going in the checked luggage). I hate that I can't bring sunblock with me in my carry on but, I figure I'll mail it ahead of time and it will be there when I get on the ship! :)

My carryon is going to be so LIGHT! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Due to the restrictions on US / UK flights there is no way we are going to be able to bring our two bottles with us. We actually went to great lengths to buy a bottle of Welsh wine (very rare) and a bottle of English wine. We won't drink them yet in case the ban is lifted but with our flight in the next two weeks I'm not raising our hopes.

David

That is such a shame!
I am just going to have to bubble wrap our bottle and put it in our checked luggage.. I would rather mail it but, Florida doesn't allow wine from other states to be shipped into their state......

As for the new rules. Other than my toothpaste and toothbrush I really don't have a problem with checking it. I'm hoping the lift the ban on electronic items. If I don't have my phone with me, I might not know what to do.

I don't have a problem with the new rules, either. BUT, I don't know what dh & the kids are going to do if they can't have their iPods on the plane!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Word of advice: DO NOT PACK alcohol in your checked luggage. I did this for Vegas and it did not turn out well. It was a plastic bottle of Rasberry Vodka and I wrapped it in my huge overstuffed beach towel and the entire bottle leaked in my luggage. Huge mess and will never make that mistake again!!!!!

Randi - Congrats on the upgrade, what is awesome.....seems like quite a few people are getting upgrades now.

I agree, I really hope they lift the bad on electronic items because I have a little 9 year old girl who is scared of flying and needs her CD player, and I would be lost without my phone. We are meeting up with my boyfriend's family in WDW and if we have to put our phones in the checked luggage and our luggage gets whisked away because we are taking Magical Express for a few hours....how will we ever meet up with them?

Now that the ban is on, I don't know how much I will actually need a carry-on. However, I am willing to do anything to preserve our safety. I am afraid that I won't be abole to bring our wine. I am afraid to send it in checked luggage. That is definitely something I will have to work out.

I am going to hunt for lime green t-shirts. Maybe the Disney store will have something.

There must still be a good deal of availability on the sailing, as DCL just opened up Florida Resident rates...

I am hoping that by the time we fly...we will be able to have our phones and such.
My dh is having to go to Lauderdale, and is on the first leg of his flight with Ally and Me...and he usually only takes a carry on for his short business trips...he does have the TSA locks...but...he didn't want to have to check things...and he will have his Blackberry and stuff like that.

I may not bring my laptop...esp. if it has to be checked...I have the hardside, with the TSA lock built in...but...I am thinking I will just leave it home.

Dolores - Florida resident rates have been available since March - thats when I booked and I was able to get it.

I just finished reading the TSA Carry-on luggage requirements. It looks like the only thing you cannot bring onboard is anything that has a gel or liquid content. This includes deodorant, cosmetics, toothpaste, ect.

So far, iPods and electronic equipment are allowed. Check with your individual airline, however. Some are more strict than others.

I think we will be shipping ahead far more then we had originally planned too- even if nothing else to avoid the long baggage check-in lines, kwim? We are flying out of the NYC area, so security will be super tight & we are expecting the lines to still be long :(

Any word on the Pineapple Beach Excursion transportation? I am calling the resort today to reserve our passes :woohoo:

Right now the *gatherings* include --
Sail Away party Deck 10
Ladies Lunch Triton's noon on first Sea Day
Wine Tasting party 3pm on second at Sea Day in StephT5's stateroom

Ok, I am just catching up :goodvibes
We should definately make the sail away party, but the ladies lunch on the 1st day I don't think I can do b/c incase the girls should revolt and want to *gasp* spend time with Mommy and Daddy :rotfl: I should be available that first day.
I would like to try for the wine tasting (I am from Long Island, NY and we have quite a few wineries here :) ) and stateroom tour (is that following the tasting?)- we are booked in GTY (guaranteed verandah) so I don't have any clue exactly where we are just yet :( Can someone pm or email me the info if you don't mind including me?

Oh no! I was hoping to ship ours! Oh well... here's to hoping the bottle doesn't break as Pooh_Friend#1 had happen! :(

I copied this from the TSA site:
What's banned on all flights
Until further notice, Transportation Security Administration regulations ban from carry-on luggage for all domestic and international flights:

All liquids, gels, creams, pastes, solutions and substances of similar consistency. This includes bottled water, hot beverages, juices and other drinks.

Toothpaste, perfume, shampoo, hair gel, suntan lotion, hand cream, lip gloss, contact lens solution and all similar substances.

Leave those items at home, pack them in luggage that will be checked or be prepared to throw them away at the security gates.

Exceptions may be made for baby formula, prescription medicines labeled with a name that matches the passenger's ticket, insulin and other essential nonprescription medications.

Since enforcement of the new restrictions is sure to slow the screening process, plan to arrive at the airport even earlier, at least 90 minutes before departure. In general, TSA is advising passengers to pack their checked luggage lightly without clutter to facilitate inspection. Also, be sure to check with the airline before heading to the airport about any flight delay.

Nothing about electronic items here yet, only in the UK.

You have a dd???? I can't wait to meet her! :)

Last night I overheard a conversation between 26ds & 8ds as they were looking at the Disney Cruise website --

26ds - *I wonder if there are any chances to meet single women*
8ds -- *Hot girls? Don't count on it. I tried on our last cruise.* :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

The look on 26ds's face was PRICELESS!!!!! :)

I'm wondering (now that I am thinking about it) if this is only for Liquor stores. And not *for personal use* only.
I may check into that.....

If you do put the wine in the checked in luggage I highly suggest putting it in a large plastic bag before wrapping it will.

Has anyone tried to reserve the couples massage on Castaway Cay? I am afraid it is sold out :( Mike & I were so looking forward to it :(
Has anyone done the Well Being Massage for couples onboard?

We also just booked the Coral World Ocean & Island Drive at 11:30am for our family :) PLus the Pineapple Beach Excursion with everyone, I think we are set- just disappoited about the CC Massage... do you think we'd have better luck trying to rserve that one we board the ship?

Stephanie, the 9yr old that Heidi is referring to is her one of her boyfriend's twin daughters. They will be with us on the WDW leg of the trip but not the cruise.

I woke up last night worrying about shipping the box out. I have to get my act together and get it ready. I couldn't go back to sleep. Crazy!

Ted and I have always packed our wine IN our check in luggage but with Heidi's experience in Las Vegas, I don't want to risk it anymore. I know shipping is against the law but UPS told me they won't ask and I don't have to tell. I am not sure that is the way I want to go either. What to do......?????

Well snot! If I can't ship the wine, I guess I'll have to check it also. Zip-lock bags will become my new best friend.

Yesterday, I went to the doctor and they put me on this electrionc thingy that attaches to my back by two patches. That thing is wired to a little computer type thing that attaches to my belts or clips to my shorts. They gave me a medicial card so I can fly with it, but YAY! It comes with a huge briefcase thing that has all the patches and charger. I've decided I'm going to ship the briefcase thing with our water and such. But I'm not sure how much trouble I'm going to have getting through with that thing attached to me. Add to it, my body brace. Oh yeah I'm going to have loads of FUN! :cool1:
