WINE TOUR - I thought I had read this suggestion in a post or two here, but maybe I just dreamt it, I can't remember! It's supposed to be a get-together where we bring wines from our local regions and we can order some cheese trays from room service and do a little wine tasting of our own. I think it might be fun to do if we can get enough people who would be interested. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but would be happy to bring a bottle of Pinot Noir or Gris from Oregon. :drinking1

EXCURSIONS
Just another GENTLE reminder to please PM me or email me if you have made your excursion reservations. Lots of DISers here would love to know if there are fellow friends going on their excursions!

While I was making the excursions page for the web site, I was not thinking clearly and CANCELLED my Catamaran tour on Barbados so I could view the list of excursions for that island. The web site would not list any excursions otherwise. ANYWAY of course I could not rebook the excursion I cancelled! ACK! I called up DCL and they just said it's probably booked and keep trying on the web site and try when we board the ship. *SIGH* I'm still kicking myself! *breathe...deep breaths now...*

My dog Minnie had her knee surgery a week ago Monday. She's been under strict orders of being crated 24/7 except to go potty outside, or sit quietly with us while watching tv (or on the computer in my case :surfweb: ). Well, the first day we left her alone in her crate for 4 hours she ESCAPED. We have stairs all over our house so it was NOT GOOD. We're taking her to the Doc again Monday and hopefully she did not ruin her surgery. We're still not sure how she got out...parts of the metal was chewed up and bent, but she unlatched the door as well and squeezed out while wearing her e-collar too. AHHHHHHHHHH! :dog2:

That's all I have to report for now...

Wan

The WIne tour is a great idea! I'll check with Dh and maybe that is what we will do in our cabin....

AACCKKK!!! About your excursion & Minnie! Animals and small children can escape from anywhere!

Guess What! My kitchen is suppose to be finished this week! (Yeah, right. I'll believe it when I see it!) Maybe I'll get to move before the cruise after all. Just what I need, something else I need to get done in a months time!

That's wonderful! I hope everything gets done in a timely manner!!!

Most of my new furniture is supposed to be delivered today -- so, you would think I would be getting ready for that to happen....... My dining room is still filled with boxes... I still have a few pieces of furniture that I haven't sold yet that need to go in the garage..... I am the Queen of procrastination :rotfl:

And then the contractor is coming by right after that to give me a quote on a couple of other things.... UGH!

We will be in 7131, and I believe we will be neighbors of poohluv2u.

I'll add this to the roster... Did you want to add who will be travelling with you? Right now Ijust have you listed.....

Wan...

it sounds like you have a Houdini dog...! I hope she is doing alright.

The same thing happened with our dog Wookie... we brought her home from the hospital and before we could put her in her kennel, she FLEW threw the doggie door and went RUNNING around in circles all over the yard with me frantically chasing after her. I just knew she was popping all her stitches. Fortunately she was fine... just in deep trouble from me. Once I caught her, she did 3 days in time out. :lmao:

party: :bday: Happy Birthday to Cynjam's son. What a great age! I love little ones.

Well, Heidi and I have started making "gifts" for the fish extenders. Can't wait to pass them out.

My DW Helen has been collecting things for a few weeks - I think they know her personally in th Disney Store now!

She has some lovely bits and pieces to leave in your extenders - she's quite excited about leaving them - sounds like a Father Christmas syndrome to me!

Hi Michael and welcome aboard. Looking forward to meeting you and your family in a few weeks time. :boat:

I am also 26 and my boyfriend who will also be on board is 36. He will never post on here though!!!

Welcome Michael. The above poster is my daughter.

David, sounds like your dw is having as much fun as I am with the "gifts". We are still working on ours. I need to actually count how many people have listed their cabins.

I had a similar problem. Call DCL and speak to a supervisor!!! I had trouble booking anything for Barbados. I went back and forth several times doing band widths and whatever else they told me to do. Finally, I asked for a supervisor. :furious: She called the excursion desk on the boat and got me all set.
Try to get it straightened out so you will not be disappointed. :sad2: I even got to steer the Catermaran in Hawaii after I drank few Mai Tais :woohoo:

I can e-mail you (or anyone else, for that matter) the roster in an Excel document if you will send me your e-mail address.

Wan,
I hope your puppy is OK!

I've just had the Disney Vacation Club August Member update and it includes information on the 10 and 11 night cruises. It also has a few lines on The Flying Dutchman currently moored at Castaway Cay - just think, we'll be there soon. :beach:

My deputy in work goes on leave today (to make sure she will be there whilst I'm on leave) and reminded me I've only got 13 more working days before I go on leave. It really took me by surprise that there's so little time left before I fly to the States.

I had to take half day today because Helen has had a bad day (I don't know if I've mentioned before but she has ME / CFS), and was totally exhausted and had to return to bed by mid-day. All the planning, packing, and excitement has caught up with her I think and along with the children at home for their summer holidays it's all become too much. It's now 22:18 here in the UK and she has been up for about 30 minutes and looks totally washed out.

I had to phone Virgin Holidays today (side company of Virgin Atlantic) as they had sent our confirmation for our first 10 days of our holiday at Pop Century but neglected to send vouchers for our return check-in at Down-town Disney. After three phones calls (including two that were routed to call-centres in India) and over a hour on the phone I finally got to speak to a manager who could make decisions and was VERY apologetic and finally assured me that my vouchers would be sent out. I really could have done without it today.

Some good but trivial news, I had aimed to achieve a feedback score of 900 on Ebay before we went on holidays and I took a look today and it was at 907 - I like targets!!

Anyway, looks like I'm watching Herbie for half hour so speak to you soon. By the way did you know that whilst in the States you refer to the Herbie Volkswagon as a "Bug" but here in the UK it's known as a "BEETLE".

Sorry, in all my rush to book this and start my preparation, I got confused as to whom I sent which information.

It's going to be me (Valerie) and my friend Terry. We're from north of Pittsburgh PA (Go Steelers!). We're going to be in 7131 and we have a late dining rotation.

I haven't booked any excursions yet. Maybe I'll see what I can get this weekend. We've been able to book a Palo dinner online, but I think I'll have to book the brunch in person.

David, so sorry to hear about Helen. Pixie dust and speedy recovery. I am sorry but I don't know what ME/CFS is. Congrats on the feedback score!!!

Carol, I will send you a pm. Thanks!
