Hi everyone!
I just read they are moving Atlantis to the launch pad. They say the launch window begins Aug. 27 and lasts until Sept. 13. Maybe we will get lucky and we can see it launch as we sail away.
That would be great. We live in Fernandina Beach which is about 2.5 hours north and can see the shuttle launches even from here. It's mostly the bright fire and the contral, but it's still exciting to stand on the beach and see it go!
One question: we have two cabins and wanted to book a Palo's dinner under one and brunch under another. But, I don't see brunch listed as an option when I try to book on-line. All I see are dinners. We had brunch last time (7 Night Western Magic: 2/06) and it was great and would love to do it again!
This should be an interesting cruise for us. We're in our mid 50s and have a 13-year old DD. My parents are in their mid 80s and have been on about 75 cruises....but none on
DCL....until now! We all went on a 10-night Mexican Riviera cruise on Celebrity in January, 2005 with them, my brother and his wife, and another couple and had a great time. It was the first time that the three of us had sailed with other folks and it was more festive.
My parents are celebrating their 60th something wedding anniversary on the ship (9/10) and it should be interesting to see what they think of DCL compared to the other lines they've sailed.
We've been on HAL, Princess, DCL, Celebrity, and RCI and would have to say that Celebrity is our favorite for food, service, and general atmosphere. But, DCL is so convenient and has been offering some nice Florida resident discounts....so here we are again...twice in 2006!
