Has anyone ever stayed on one of the lower decks like deck 2? This is where we are booked and are considering an upgrade possibly at the port. If we find out its very noisy or intolerable we will upgrade sooner. Any input you have will be appreciated.

I think we are going to be joining this cruise!! We were looking for feb/march 07 and I stumbled across this one :cool1: It covers both my DS's 5th bday (9/8) and our 7th anniversary(9/11). We spent 2005 at WDW for the same dates to cover both special occasions!! I need to start seriously looking for the best deal. So far I was able to find the best thru AAA (cat 6) 500.00 less than the disney website..insurance included, not airfare.

Well like Gabbysmom we too have had to change plans for this summer. Long story short originally we had booked a 4 night and some park time. Our 4 night was right in the middle of the 10/11 night so they called me and said we'd have to change plans. We just made a surprise trip to the parks in nov/dec and I realized that there is NO WAY that my DS (7) is going to understand why we are in Disney and not going to the parks. He is high functioning Autistic and has a set idea of how things happen. I'm afraid he would just be terribly upset if we had to miss the parks to go on a 10 night (I can only take 2 weeks vacation at a time due to being a supervisor and it's a 2 day drive one way to FL... again having to drive due to DS)

Anyway after talking with my mother it's also better for my father due to meniers disease which is a disease of the inner ear causing vertigo etc. having never been on a cruise it's just hard to tell how he's going to react and who wants to spend the entire cruise in the cabin taking medication! So we've decided to go back to 4 nights and then some park time. We have booked the 10/15/06 cruise so will be the first ones on after dry dock.

I hope you all have a WONDERful time and I will be thinking of you!!!

I have a room on deck 2 and so does my mom. We have heard great things about deck 2 and how quiet it is and how nice it is to be so close to the restaurants and getting off the ship in ports (not having to wait in line at the elevators!!!)

Welcome!!! Have you tried Costco to see how much they are charging? Have you tried Dreams Unlimited?

Pooh Friend #1

We currently have a trip on hold thru DU. I am just researching what other rooms are avail, as the one that they are holding for me is diagnollay across from the laundry and on the starbord side. DH wants port...so we can see the ports and I don't think we want ot be across from the laundry. On the magic when we went in 2/04, I remember everyone waiting for or to use their laundry hanging out in the hallway together...I don't want that right in front of my room..... :flower: :flower:

Well, I know its early, but I already have our toiletry bag packed. Really it was never unpacked after our November cruise. We are doing everything we can to surprise our kids with this cruise and a stay at SSR prior, so private packing is going to be quite a feat. I think it will be especially hard with the teenager since he is more concious of his clothing and may notice it missing. I hope to be able to pack all of his the night before after he goes to sleep.

BTW I tried to go on the Disney website to check out excursions, but they do not have them posted yet. Hopefully, they will get posted soon, so that everyone has ample time to research and get the best info possible about the excursions.

Hope everyone has a great day today!!

I agree, I don't think I would want to be across from a laundry room, especially on a 10 day cruise.....maybe a 4 day cruise but definitely not a 10 day.

smola09's mom - I already have outfits planned!!! I have my pirates night outfit bought, I have dinner outfits planned and even swimsuits planned!!!

You guys are making me feel like a slacker...I don't have outfits planned, and haven't started packing either! But I think I did really well with packing for our 7 day cruise last year, so I think I'm going to stick with the same amount of clothes, just a couple more esentials of course lol

Hi everyone! My wife and I are booked on the 10 day and wanted to introduce ourselves. My name is David (34) and my wife is Monica (31). We are both big fans of Disney and can't wait for the cruise.

We also have a friend by the name of Ron who will be in his own room during the cruise. I will ask him to stop by and say "hello" to this thread. I was with Ron in the Roy Disney suite for the West Coast Mexican Riviera cruise and we had a blast.

As a surprise for my wife, I just booked us on the 3 night Wonder at the end of January. Should make for a fun long weekend and give her some idea of what is to come in September.

Hope to learn more about everyone as our sail date approaches.

I am horrible at overpacking, I think I end up packing way too many shoes and outfits because I usually end up in my swimsuit anyway!!!

Welcome David, Monica and Ron!!!!! A 3 days cruise would be a nice suprise and help you get to know the ship for the 10-day!!! Wish I could go on a cruise before September!!!!

Hello David, Monica and Ron. Glad to hear you are joining us. How lucky you are to be getting a little taste of the magic with a 3 day cruise.

We have been discussing packing already. We better be careful or someone may think we are a bunch of nuts! :rotfl2:

I, too, have pirate costumes and my formal dress. I usually way overpack shoes, but I love having the variety. I just don't tell my husband that the reason I need an extra suitcase is because I brought 9 pairs of shoes. :)

Well...it is official......we are booked!!!

Myself, DH and DS 4 (will turn 5 on day 2 of the cruise)....only 245 more days.

Yay, glad you can join us!!! :cool1: :Pinkbounc

A :grouphug: warm welcome to all the new people. Welcome.

I wouldn't want to be across from the laundry either because of the noise factor. However, on our Panama Canal cruise in Aug our friend was right across from the one on Deck 7 and she said that they never heard a thing. I am a light sleeper and I bet I would have!! Heidi told you that we are on deck 2. We were on deck 2 for the PC cruise and requested the very same room for the upcoming 10 day Wonder. It was perfect!! We absolutely loved hearing the waves crashing the ship during the hurricane from our deck 2 room. You should see the video!

Packing? Well, ummmm. GUILTY! Actually, we never really UNPACK. :rotfl2:

Where has everyone????? When I first read to catch up on this thread, I couldn't believe how many things were being planned with this group. Now, you can consistently find this thread on the 2nd page. Let's try to keep this thread alive. We are planning a trip to paradise. :cool1: What could be more exciting then that?

Onto a different topic. I hope everyone had a nice holiday season. I am finally taking down the tree and decorations. I always wait until the weekend after New Year's. We got hit with a snow storm after a couple weeks of only cold and rain. Back to bundling up even to go to the mailbox.

Did anyone see the collapsible stacking space saving vacuum bags on QVC? Do they work if you don't have a vacuum when you pack to go home? Do you think all that air would just come out by rolling the bags? Just curious, as I was thinking of purchasing them.

Has anyone found any great items in the after Christmas sales? I saw cute Cinderella necklaces at Home Depot that have a flashlight on them. I would have purchased them if I had any little girls, but I have 3 boys, so I will have to look for something boy oriented. I always pack a few souveniers for surprise Mickey gifts. The kids loved this last year and it kept them from constantly asking to buy things. It also saved a lot of money.

Has anyone seen what any of the shore excursions are??

We packed waaaayyyy too many clothes for all 5 of us this last trip (Oct '05) so, we are going to try to do a better job next month. Myab then I'll be ready for Sept! Of course I've seen how our 22dd packs... we may need to get a stateroom just for her suitcases! LOL! I guess it's a good thing she is sharing a stateroom with her brother.... he will probably just pack a backpack! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
