9/28/02 "Mystery Cruise" Trip Report

That MUST have been so exciting finding out about the change of course on board. How did the cruise notify you? I LOVE castaway cay. That is such a great deal. CC is the main reason why we decided to return on the cruise. Was it fun going two times in one week?

Saturday night we heard over the intercom from Captain Tom about Castaway Cay being Sunday. While there, one of the CM's mentioned Puerto Rico to us, later back on board it was on the TV and even later each suite received a letter informing them of the change for the week.

Kind of nice to be part of a "special tour"!

I miss you all. We had just the best time meeting our old friends and making the new ones. There is definitely no other way to go on a cruise.

Mary ... loved your report. So glad we got there so early and you could get that little "problem" checked out right away and get the color back in your face. Must admit that Kathy and I felt concerned for you and glad our "pixie dust" worked on that agent.

I agree that there were fewer chairs on deck 4 but did notice that they were varnishing some new ones and putting more out each day. We may have been in the middle of their replacing the old ones.

One thing to remember is next time to put on at least an inch of sun screen when going to Castaway Cay ... I think my face is still peeling! But it was fun ... and Art (Arca) found a stingray at the adult beach and showed it to Dennis/Chrystina, Mike/Kathy and us. That was fun.

Again THANKS to Mary & Ave for your work on our cruise to make things the best! Palos brunch worked out great.

OH well back to reality.

Can't wait for next year .............

My heart almost sinked when you said you had two copies of your birth certificate and did not have a copy of DH's. I was so happy the way things turned out in that situation.


Great trip report. I'm trying to decide when to schedule our four day for 2003. After reading your report, I wish I could go next week. This will be our second Disney Cruise.

Mary!!!! I just read your post after trying to find you for an hour!!! Im glad you had a good time. two days in castaway sounds great!! I was jealous. My little guy is now almost four and keeps asking when we are going on the boat to see Mickey! Tell George that Andrew and I said Hi!!

Such a simple gesture like that is so much fun for kids and adults alike and creates a nice memory.

The deck nine coffee expansion.... thats by the mickey pool...right? It's been 2 years since I was on the cruise and I was trying to remember.

Yes, the beverage station is on deck nine just outside of Topsiders, at the Micky Pool end of the ship.

Here is a recent (1/4 Magic) pic of the expanded beverage station on Deck 9. From the 1/11 cruises the CM no longer needs to serve you and you can serve yourself, as it was before the virus situation.
